[00:00:06.870]When I first brought up the idea to my parents,
[00:00:08.520]I was really nervous, but then my mom told me
[00:00:10.500]that it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience
[00:00:12.240]and that she and my dad
[00:00:13.650]were both really, really happy for me.
[00:00:15.300]They would support me full on with everything
[00:00:17.250]that I decide to do.
[00:00:18.083]I'm really lucky and fortunate
[00:00:19.200]that I am a William H. Thompson Scholar.
[00:00:21.120]It helped sponsor my trip, as well as MAPS.
[00:00:23.460]So it's a global study abroad scholarship
[00:00:26.130]that you just fill out an essay and all the little things
[00:00:29.820]and you are automatically put into a big pool
[00:00:32.460]and you can receive scholarships.
[00:00:34.260]I was lucky enough
[00:00:35.093]and they gave me the Trailblazer Scholarship,
[00:00:36.630]and they're helping me fund the trip.
[00:00:38.370]This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience
[00:00:39.930]and only 5% of students get to do it.
[00:00:42.360]So I hope you're part of the 5%.
[00:00:44.310]My cohort has been amazing.
[00:00:45.810]All of us became friends right away
[00:00:47.970]and we hang out together every single night
[00:00:49.950]and you really do make lifelong memories with them.
