- [00:00:00.333]Everything.
- [00:00:03.069]Congratulations.
- [00:00:04.671]I'm so sad to see you go, but I'm glad that you're
- [00:00:07.374]moving on to greener pastures like your ice cream.
- [00:00:11.177]It's been great having you as chancellor.
- [00:00:12.712]So, yeah.
- [00:00:14.214]Many congrats and hope to see what's next.
- [00:00:17.150]I think one of my favorite memories was my freshman volleyball season.
- [00:00:19.919]And just like any new sport support of all of the staff here,
- [00:00:27.360]Chancellor Green came
- [00:00:28.528]to our regional games in Austin, Texas,
- [00:00:32.032]and he sat and our students section with our students section.
- [00:00:34.734]But our parents section was like all of our parents
- [00:00:36.703]and basically just hung out like he was one of the parents of our team and like,
- [00:00:40.874]we weren't even in like the Final Four, like the or the semifinals.
- [00:00:44.144]It was just like regionals down in Texas were playing like the Sweet 16.
- [00:00:47.080]He was coming to watch and just having that support there of a match
- [00:00:50.884]that isn't even, you know, progressing to like a national championship match.
- [00:00:54.320]Just early on in the tournament.
- [00:00:56.589]It's really
- [00:00:57.023]special to have that kind of support from your staff members.
- [00:01:00.260]I like Ronnie Green because he supports
- [00:01:03.563]student extracurricular involvement and is a super fun guy.
- [00:01:07.667]I agree with everything that Mattie just said. Yes.
- [00:01:11.037]Congratulations to you and Jane, we're really going to miss you
- [00:01:13.773]here at the University of Nebraska.
- [00:01:15.408]But we're happy that you're able to spend time with your family.
- [00:01:18.244]Thanks for all you've done for us.
- [00:01:20.313]Congratulations, Ronnie and Jane on your retirement from the university.
- [00:01:24.017]Thank you for your leadership.
- [00:01:25.552]It's been my privilege to have a close view of the amazing impact
- [00:01:28.621]your leadership has had in every corner of this university.
- [00:01:32.459]It strikes me that many people lead universities,
- [00:01:35.261]but it's a rare few that truly love them.
- [00:01:37.831]Your deep love of you and all is apparent in so many ways
- [00:01:41.101]and has made a real difference in the lives of thousands
- [00:01:43.903]of students, alumni, employees and friends.
- [00:01:47.907]So from this proud Husker alum, thank you for leading and loving our university.
- [00:01:53.146]You've quite literally made it forever better.
- [00:01:55.748]I wish you all the best in your next phase.
- [00:01:58.418]Go Big Red.
- [00:01:59.752]Thank you for your commitment to diversity on campus.
- [00:02:02.889]Thank you for being epic.
- [00:02:04.858]Thank you.
- [00:02:06.793]When I think of Chancellor Green,
- [00:02:08.027]I think of his endless support for student athletes and students as a whole.
- [00:02:12.499]I got the chance to meet him through an honor society, the Chancellors
- [00:02:16.035]senior honorary, and I worked with him over the year
- [00:02:19.205]and I've seen how much he wants to develop students and wants to see students grow.
- [00:02:24.043]And so I have really appreciated all he has done for the campus
- [00:02:27.780]and the university.
- [00:02:29.282]Congratulations on everything.
- [00:02:31.050]Chancellor Green You truly are the best
- [00:02:32.919]and we will miss you here at the University of Nebraska.
- [00:02:35.355]Can't wait to see you on campus many times.
- [00:02:37.991]Ronnie Thank you for your service to this university.
- [00:02:41.060]We are going to miss you.
- [00:02:42.095]The College of Law is going to miss you.
- [00:02:44.030]And I personally am very much going to miss you.
- [00:02:46.799]I wish you the very best.
- [00:02:48.201]Ronnie, I want to wish you an amazing and a wonderful retirement.
- [00:02:53.640]I want to thank you for your leadership and grace and just presence
- [00:02:58.878]for what you've done for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
- [00:03:01.581]for the City of Lincoln, and for the state of Nebraska.
- [00:03:04.250]And I would also say for higher education, I know that your leadership
- [00:03:08.321]beyond the university certainly rings true.
- [00:03:11.124]I also want to just appreciate you as a leader.
- [00:03:14.894]I shared this with you before, but I really do admire for how you lead
- [00:03:20.233]and how you lead with care and and empathy.
- [00:03:23.670]And I think that's really important.
- [00:03:25.104]And that's something that I'm going to take away from our interactions
- [00:03:28.374]as I want to thank you for just your support and gratitude
- [00:03:33.413]and your welcoming of me as an as a new member of the Husker family
- [00:03:38.685]and just embracing our Office of Diversity
- [00:03:41.854]and Inclusion, but also welcoming Brian.
- [00:03:44.924]I think when we moved to Nebraska, we were not sure
- [00:03:48.895]of the reception that we
- [00:03:50.129]would receive and I wasn't sure about the leader or leaders
- [00:03:56.269]that I would be asked to ask to serve and to
- [00:04:00.607]and to have guide me.
- [00:04:01.874]And so I could not ask for a better
- [00:04:05.545]transition and again, a better boss to be along this journey.
- [00:04:09.882]So thank you for all that you've done for me and done for us as a couple.
- [00:04:14.053]So again, I am just so elated that you and Jane
- [00:04:19.025]will be able to now enter into some new adventures and endeavors.
- [00:04:23.763]And so I am really wishing you well in your entire family.
- [00:04:28.434]I know this now frees you to be able to do more with them.
- [00:04:31.838]And so what an amazing opportunity.
- [00:04:34.707]So again, Ronnie, I want you to be well,
- [00:04:39.112]be blessed and always have joy.
- [00:04:42.749]All right. Thank you. Hi, Ronnie.
- [00:04:45.118]I want to thank you for all you've done for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
- [00:04:48.788]the College of Engineering, and myself.
- [00:04:51.124]It's been a real honor to work with you and for you over the last several years.
- [00:04:56.663]The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is much better off because of you
- [00:04:59.966]and will be diminished by your absence.
- [00:05:02.435]I really hope that you and Jane have a great next phase of your life
- [00:05:05.738]and that your ventures into ministry are rewarding and impactful.
- [00:05:10.343]Thanks again, Ronnie.
- [00:05:12.845]Ronnie,
- [00:05:13.379]congratulations on an amazing career.
- [00:05:16.683]Thank you for being an extraordinary mentor, colleague
- [00:05:20.320]and friend to so many of us, wishing you
- [00:05:23.156]and Jane the very best as you begin this next chapter.
- [00:05:26.492]Go Big Red.
- [00:05:27.994]I Ronnie, I'm excited for you as you go off into your sunset.
- [00:05:33.399]I think it's really great that you are
- [00:05:37.670]having this wonderful time of retirement.
- [00:05:40.873]I want you to know that I really appreciate all the things you did to help
- [00:05:45.478]bully me and allow me to use my voice here at the university.
- [00:05:49.882]You've been a great friend,
- [00:05:50.883]and I look forward to hearing about all your fun adventures.
- [00:05:55.221]Ronnie, Jane, thank you so much for everything that you have done
- [00:05:57.990]for the Alumni Association and for me personally.
- [00:06:01.394]I really appreciate
- [00:06:02.195]your support and friendship, and in case you start to get bored.
- [00:06:06.232]There are plenty of volunteer opportunities
- [00:06:07.834]available at the Alumni Association, so we will be sure to keep you.
- [00:06:10.937]Connected and engaged.
- [00:06:13.639]Ronnie, thank you for your leadership of UNL.
- [00:06:16.843]You lead with such integrity.
- [00:06:19.379]You empower others and you've taken us forward
- [00:06:22.715]in times that have been trying and turbulent.
- [00:06:25.852]Just know how much you are appreciated.
- [00:06:28.955]Hi Ronnie.
- [00:06:30.022]Thanks for everything you have done for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
- [00:06:33.593]You've been a tremendous leader.
- [00:06:35.061]I have learned a lot watching you.
- [00:06:37.964]Congratulations on your retirement and I hope your next adventures are fulfilling.
- [00:06:43.302]Hi, Ronnie.
- [00:06:44.537]Congratulations on your retirement.
- [00:06:46.239]I wish you and Jane the best as you move on in this next stage of life.
- [00:06:50.042]Throughout your career, I followed you as an animal scientist.
- [00:06:53.079]You provided me inspiration as far as all the different steps in your career.
- [00:06:56.849]I hope to follow on.
- [00:06:57.884]Thank you so much for providing us such a great foundation
- [00:07:00.853]in University of Nebraska, that we can continue to excel and succeed.
- [00:07:05.558]Best wishes.
- [00:07:07.126]Ronnie, Congratulations.
- [00:07:08.594]Hey, thanks for all you did for extension.
- [00:07:10.897]I also want to, you notice I’m wearing the Hat.
- [00:07:13.533]You know, it comes from you at a Chancellor's
- [00:07:17.236]tailgate party, you said, Where's Charlie and his funky hat?
- [00:07:21.774]People may not remember me, but they remember the hat.
- [00:07:24.677]Thanks, Ronnie.
- [00:07:26.012]So big thing I remember about the Big Red welcome in Chancellor Green.
- [00:07:29.115]And what stuck out to me was just how inspiring he was
- [00:07:32.318]when he was talking and walking amongst us as freshmen and making things very like.
- [00:07:37.223]Easy
- [00:07:39.192]Easy right in from high school.
- [00:07:42.228]And kind of what really stuck for me was how he just,
- [00:07:44.831]you know, there's no place like Nebraska being able to create connections.
- [00:07:48.334]And if you don't work hard.
- [00:07:50.169]You don't make it as a good student here.
- [00:07:52.004]Hey, Chancellor Ronnie,
- [00:07:52.905]just wanted to say thank you for your time here at the University of Nebraska.
- [00:07:56.142]I know you're a big proponent of the Jeffrey S. Raikes School, which has been
- [00:07:59.178]phenomenal, phenomenal contribution to my time here at the university.
- [00:08:02.682]So thank you for that and best wishes you moving forward.
- [00:08:06.219]Chancellor Green, thanks so much for letting you in out here.
- [00:08:08.955]I wouldn't want to share my first name with anyone else.
- [00:08:11.724]I think Ronnie Green is a great face for the university just because
- [00:08:15.461]I mean, I always see him around at basketball games, at student events.
- [00:08:19.332]He's always trying to get involved with the student life and
- [00:08:22.435]being able to get involved with the students themselves
- [00:08:25.104]I think is really important and I think he's done a phenomenal job of that.
- [00:08:28.674]Hey, Ronnie, I pity the person
- [00:08:31.511]that's going to have to try to follow in your footsteps.
- [00:08:34.780]You did one hell of a job and just like you did in El Salvador, that was fun, too.
- [00:08:41.554]You've done so much.
- [00:08:42.755]And Husker Jane, too.
- [00:08:45.224]We're going to really miss something terrible.
- [00:08:48.127]But I know you're not going far.
- [00:08:50.129]You just going to have a less hectic schedule.
- [00:08:52.698]Really left your mark on the university, and that's a good thing, I think.
- [00:08:57.503]Hi, Ronnie and Jane.
- [00:08:59.138]I can't tell you how welcoming you've been,
- [00:09:02.575]how great it's been to come in under you
- [00:09:05.545]and just to collaborate the way we have.
- [00:09:08.814]And I look forward to more of that.
- [00:09:11.183]Thank you so much.
- [00:09:12.785]Thank you, Ronnie, for being an incredible example of a servant leader.
- [00:09:16.956]I feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with you the last few years,
- [00:09:20.626]and I wish you and Jane well as you move on to the next phase of life.
- [00:09:24.096]Congratulations. Ronnie.
- [00:09:26.732]Thank you so much
- [00:09:28.434]for being an incredible chancellor for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
- [00:09:32.238]Your leadership has made so much success possible
- [00:09:35.708]here at the Leid Center for Performing Arts, Nebraska's performing Arts Center.
- [00:09:39.812]I want to thank you personally for your support and your encouragement
- [00:09:43.449]and inspiration to bring the greatest artists
- [00:09:45.685]in the world, both in classrooms and on our stage.
- [00:09:48.788]The future of the arts are so exciting thanks to your leadership
- [00:09:52.425]and you can enjoy all of the fruits of your labors in the years to come.
- [00:09:57.296]Congratulations and enjoy retirement.
- [00:10:00.066]Ronnie, Before you step down as Chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
- [00:10:04.203]I would just like
- [00:10:04.870]to express how fortunate I feel to have had the opportunity to work with
- [00:10:08.808]and to learn. From you over the last four. Years.
- [00:10:12.211]Above
- [00:10:12.578]all, I want to thank you and Jane for the inspiring example
- [00:10:15.848]that you have set for what it means to be a servant leader
- [00:10:18.951]to our entire university and to the wider state of Nebraska.
- [00:10:23.489]I know you have a particular fondness for the verse from Luke 12:48,
- [00:10:28.160]and it's clear to me that you've been living in accordance with these words
- [00:10:31.631]and everything that you have done for our great university.
- [00:10:35.234]So thank you for your leadership.
- [00:10:37.536]Thank you above all for putting the good of the whole
- [00:10:40.640]and the needs of others first.
- [00:10:42.174]In everything that you have done in doing this, you've made UNL
- [00:10:46.612]better, more inclusive and more equitable place.
- [00:10:51.317]And I wish you and Jane and your entire growing family all the very best
- [00:10:55.154]in what lies ahead. For you and your future.
- [00:10:57.757]Ronnie And Jane.
- [00:10:59.392]I just want to say thank you
- [00:11:00.826]for everything that you've done for the university over the years.
- [00:11:04.730]You provided tremendous leadership, particularly during
- [00:11:08.968]probably one of the most challenging times in higher education.
- [00:11:12.838]And you did it with such grace and stability.
- [00:11:17.043]But you also provided me personally a lot of support
- [00:11:21.313]during some challenging times.
- [00:11:23.849]So thank you and good luck in your next chapters.
