How to add files, images, and external video to your Next-Gen CMS website, and how to manage that media once it's uploaded.

- [00:00:06.540]to your site using the media library.
- [00:00:10.650]First you need to log into your site
- [00:00:12.330]and then on your toolbar, go to Content Media, add media.

- [00:00:21.390]or you can just click add media.
- [00:00:23.460]So here you see I get a selection.
- [00:00:25.110]I can choose a file, an image, or a remote video.
- [00:00:27.990]I'm just gonna go ahead and upload a file here

- [00:01:34.740]you need to make sure that you have alt text in there.

- [00:02:30.120]and I'm gonna say Big Ten Academics, both of those.

- [00:02:39.000]All right, now when I come into my media library,
- [00:02:44.040]I can see everything that I've uploaded
- [00:02:46.740]with file names and what type of file that they are.
- [00:02:50.940]So adding these is very similar to in previous CMS.
- [00:02:55.140]I'm gonna edit this page and you can use them,
- [00:02:59.010]the images that you've uploaded, you can use in a hero.
- [00:03:03.300]You can also add them
- [00:03:04.410]through this little button here in the wizzywig.
- [00:03:06.420]So if I want to, you know, if I have text and I say..
- [00:03:16.200]I wanna make a link, I highlight that text

- [00:03:26.820]So, it will auto complete that PDF that I uploaded.

- [00:03:50.175]So I can choose the width of that.

- [00:03:56.820]with wrap text, align, right with wrap text or break text.

- [00:04:10.110]So you can see here, it's really easy to add media documents
- [00:04:15.960]and external videos using the media library.

- [00:04:21.210]and say I have way more than this.
- [00:04:23.160]Say I have hundreds of files,
- [00:04:25.043]then that's where the tagging comes in handy,
- [00:04:27.780]because you can do things like
- [00:04:29.400]search for commencement
- [00:04:34.140]and filter that out.
- [00:04:35.910]You can see that's just the two items
- [00:04:37.860]that I've tagged is commencement.
- [00:04:40.080]So it is important to tag your items
- [00:04:41.940]when you upload them as well,
- [00:04:43.050]because once you get a huge number of files,
- [00:04:46.830]then you can filter those down,
- [00:04:48.810]see if you've already uploaded them
- [00:04:51.210]and you can reference those files on multiple pages,
- [00:04:53.640]heroes and then other content types,
- [00:04:56.010]which we'll talk about later.
- [00:04:57.690]So that's the media library.
The screen size you are trying to search captions on is too small!
