Husker Hub Explains how to order an official transcript if you attended prior to Fall 1986, if you attended a closed institution (Creative Center, Grace University, Dana College, ITT Tech, Wright Career College) that UNL holds your academic records for, and if you need to regain access to your MyRED account to order an electronic transcript.

- [00:00:11.370]In this video I go over how to order a transcript
- [00:00:14.370]if you attended before fall of 1986.
- [00:00:18.600]I'll also go over how to order a transcript
- [00:00:20.730]if you attended any of the closed institutions
- [00:00:23.790]for which we house transcripts for.
- [00:00:26.340]And lastly, how to reactivate your MyRed account if you are
- [00:00:30.000]needing access to order an official electronic transcript.
- [00:00:34.740]Let's get started.
- [00:00:36.390]For those that attended before fall of 1986
- [00:00:39.959]whether it be one or two semester or having graduated
- [00:00:43.290]before that semester, you will have vault records.
- [00:00:46.920]Due to this, we will only be able
- [00:00:48.870]to provide a paper copy of your transcript.
- [00:00:52.380]And you'll need to request it
- [00:00:53.820]using the paper transcript request form.
- [00:00:57.480]You will need to fill this out,
- [00:00:59.130]but please keep in mind that the processing time
- [00:01:01.920]is a minimum of one to two weeks.
- [00:01:04.590]And you will need to fill out the form
- [00:01:06.420]with all of your information.
- [00:01:08.400]And to request a printed law transcript
- [00:01:10.800]you will need to contact Vicky
- [00:01:13.140]to the email shown on the webpage.
- [00:01:17.550]Once you click the box that says transcript request form,
- [00:01:20.520]you will have the PDF form,
- [00:01:22.320]what you will need to print and fill out
- [00:01:24.450]as it requires a handwritten signature.
- [00:01:27.330]Please provide all of the information
- [00:01:29.790]to correctly locate your records.
- [00:01:32.310]You may request multiple copies,
- [00:01:34.740]and have them sent to multiple addresses.
- [00:01:38.790]Once you have completed the form, you can send it back
- [00:01:41.850]to the registrar's office via mail, fax,
- [00:01:46.350]or you can email it to registrar at unl.edu.
- [00:01:51.750]I will include how you can fax and mail the form
- [00:01:55.290]if you choose to go that route.
- [00:01:57.390]Here you can see the list of how to fill

- [00:02:01.980]And these are the methods for submitting the form,
- [00:02:04.560]either by email, by mail, or by fax.
- [00:02:10.140]The fax number is 402-472-0736.
- [00:02:15.180]The University of Nebraska Lincoln
- [00:02:17.040]does house transcripts for other institutions,
- [00:02:20.130]such as the University of Nebraska High School
- [00:02:22.830]or other colleges that have closed,
- [00:02:25.440]such as Dana College, Grace University,
- [00:02:29.250]Wright Career College, ITT Tech, and The Creative Center.
- [00:02:35.430]These transcripts can only be requested as a paper
- [00:02:39.390]transcript as we only have access to send these via mail.
- [00:02:43.560]And you will need to allow at least five to seven
- [00:02:45.810]business days to process your request, once it is received.
- [00:02:50.550]You'll need to fill out the appropriate
- [00:02:53.040]college transcript request form for your institution.
- [00:02:57.180]For example, here we can see the Grace University
- [00:03:00.150]request for official transcript.
- [00:03:02.010]You'll need to include any personal information
- [00:03:04.320]that is relevant to the time of your attendance,
- [00:03:07.110]as well as instructions on how to release your transcript.
- [00:03:11.310]You will also need to have a wet signature
- [00:03:13.770]for this to be officially processed and sent out.
- [00:03:17.790]Once the form has been completed,
- [00:03:19.650]you will submit it either via email to registrar at unl.edu,
- [00:03:25.290]through mail and you can see the address here,
- [00:03:28.410]or through fax and you can see the fax number listed here.
- [00:03:32.940]If you are needing to have your transcript delivered sooner
- [00:03:36.180]you can choose to have it overnight delivery via FedEx.
- [00:03:41.400]But you must include your credit card number,
- [00:03:44.670]the expiration date, the three digit code,
- [00:03:48.270]and the credit card type on the transcript request form,
- [00:03:51.720]in order to process your request
- [00:03:54.030]There will be a charge included.
- [00:03:56.400]If you no longer have access to MyRed
- [00:03:58.860]and need to request an electronic transcript
- [00:04:01.770]because you attended after 1986,
- [00:04:04.770]you'll need to reactivate your account
- [00:04:06.990]if it's been some time since you last used it.
- [00:04:10.200]You'll go to trueyou.nebraska.edu, select reactivate account
- [00:04:14.550]and it will take you to the account look up page.
- [00:04:17.610]You will need to enter your personal identifying information
- [00:04:20.670]in order to look up your NUID.
- [00:04:22.560]Select lookup account ID.
- [00:04:24.750]You will need to write down your eight digit NUID number
- [00:04:28.980]and save it.
- [00:04:31.110]If for any reason you get a message saying that
- [00:04:35.040]the account cannot be found,
- [00:04:36.900]you will need to contact the campus help desk.
- [00:04:39.960]You select the red hyperlink.
- [00:04:41.880]You will be taken to their webpage
- [00:04:43.680]with their contact information.
- [00:04:46.020]Now, if you're able to obtain your NUID,
- [00:04:48.480]the next step will be to attempt to log into
- [00:04:51.030]your MyRed account by going to myred.unl.edu.
- [00:04:56.220]You will select "Log In With NUID".
- [00:04:59.670]And from there if you do not remember your password,
- [00:05:02.760]you will have to select the forgot password option.
- [00:05:06.660]Once you select that,
- [00:05:08.310]it will ask if you remember your NUID,
- [00:05:10.950]and you should say yes.
- [00:05:12.600]After completing the previous step enter your NUID,
- [00:05:16.320]and you will then be asked for your email
- [00:05:18.630]to do a password email reset.
- [00:05:22.080]You will then be asked for your email
- [00:05:24.240]associated with your account.
- [00:05:26.550]If you recall what email that is
- [00:05:28.830]you can enter it here and hit submit.
- [00:05:31.260]An email will be sent with instructions
- [00:05:33.240]on how to reset your password.
- [00:05:35.520]If you do not remember the email that is associated
- [00:05:38.430]with your account, you will select forgot email.
- [00:05:41.880]You will then be asked your first, last name,
- [00:05:44.130]and date of birth to try to access
- [00:05:48.030]any emails associated with your account.
- [00:05:50.760]Once you hit submit,
- [00:05:52.800]emails associated with your account should appear.
- [00:05:56.370]If you no longer have access to any of the emails listed,
- [00:06:00.840]here are the steps you will need to complete.
- [00:06:04.320]On a piece of paper,
- [00:06:05.610]you will need to write out a statement saying
- [00:06:08.700]that you are needing to reset your password for MyRed,
- [00:06:11.460]and you no longer have access to the email on file.
- [00:06:14.760]You will then ask to change the email address
- [00:06:17.640]to whatever your new email is.
- [00:06:20.040]Make sure you sign it and include your NUID number.
- [00:06:23.610]This does have to be written out,
- [00:06:25.500]but you can take a picture and send that picture
- [00:06:28.140]to Registrar at unl.edu.
- [00:06:32.130]They will then process the email change request
- [00:06:35.040]so that you can go through the forgot password steps
- [00:06:39.030]to reactivate your MyRed account,
- [00:06:41.070]and order electronic transcript.
- [00:06:44.220]Please keep in mind that it may take up to 24 hours
- [00:06:47.610]after you have reset your password
- [00:06:49.800]in order to gain full access to your MyRed account,
- [00:06:53.460]and for the reactivation process to be fully completed.
