[00:00:08.130]Chancellor, we seem to be racing through the year
[00:00:10.470]of 2023 already in February, now.
[00:00:12.992]A couple of teams that are moving fast right now
[00:00:17.220]are the Husker men's and women's track and field teams.
[00:00:20.190]Were you impressed that they both showed up
[00:00:22.140]in the national rankings last week?
[00:00:23.910]Oh, absolutely, Matt.
[00:00:24.900]You know, we're right in the peak of winter sports season
[00:00:27.937]and one of the things that people often forget about
[00:00:31.470]that happens in this time of year
[00:00:33.360]is our indoor track season for both men and women.
[00:00:37.260]And we've been a prominent force in that arena
[00:00:40.140]for a long time in Nebraska.
[00:00:41.820]And this year, Husker Track and Field's
[00:00:44.006]going strong in their indoor season.
[00:00:46.830]The men's track and field team recently moved up four spots
[00:00:51.060]in the national rankings to number six nationally
[00:00:54.690]in track and field.
[00:00:56.040]The last time our men in indoor track and field
[00:00:59.160]were ranked that high was in 2015, so seven years ago.
[00:01:02.670]So great to see that.
[00:01:04.650]And our women entered the rankings at number 20 this year.
[00:01:08.850]And both the men's and women's national rankings,
[00:01:11.520]Nebraska leads the Big 10.
[00:01:14.333]And anytime you-
[00:01:16.020]obviously anytime you can be the leading institution
[00:01:19.200]in the Big 10, it's impressive.
[00:01:20.790]So exciting season that they have underway.
[00:01:22.890]The meets they've already had have been very successful,
[00:01:25.200]and great to see that success for our indoor men and women.
[00:01:29.789]You know, speaking of rankings,
[00:01:31.440]the US News and World Report comes out
[00:01:33.024]with new rankings every year,
[00:01:35.293]but they also rank specific online programs.
[00:01:38.400]Were there any Husker programs
[00:01:40.139]among the latest online academic program rankings?
[00:01:44.280]There were, Matt.
[00:01:45.570]And we were very, very proud of the fact
[00:01:47.730]that we ranked quite highly in a number of programs,
[00:01:51.600]both in engineering and in business.
[00:01:55.020]Our engineering college,
[00:01:57.300]its Master of Engineering Management program
[00:01:59.610]currently ranked in the top ten in the country,
[00:02:02.520]at number nine.
[00:02:03.812]It's among the very best programs online in engineering.
[00:02:07.530]That's an improvement of eight spots
[00:02:09.360]in the rankings since the previous year.
[00:02:12.900]And in the face of very fierce competition in this field,
[00:02:17.010]our Master of Engineering Management program also
[00:02:19.830]ranks number six overall in the country for veterans.
[00:02:23.430]For access to veterans and for supporting veterans.
[00:02:26.790]So very proud of that.
[00:02:27.930]And then we have four of our programs
[00:02:30.570]in our College of Business that finished among the top 20
[00:02:34.100]in the country and the rankings in online programs.
[00:02:37.290]Our MBA, Masters of Business Administration program,
[00:02:40.830]which is a fully online program now since 2001,
[00:02:45.000]goes back to the 1960s originally in our history
[00:02:48.313]but moved fully online in 2001 after 9/11 happened.
[00:02:55.014]Jumped seven spots in the rankings this year to number 19,
[00:03:01.200]and they jumped three places in their ranking to number 15
[00:03:04.980]for best options for veterans.
[00:03:07.080]And for the first time, Nebraska business is at number 14
[00:03:10.890]for the best online business master's programs as well.
[00:03:14.880]That include our Master of Science in Business Analytics,
[00:03:17.670]our Master of Science in Finance,
[00:03:19.307]and our Master of Science in Supply Chain Management.
[00:03:22.440]So very, very pleased with those rankings
[00:03:25.800]both for the Masters of Engineering Management,
[00:03:28.435]our online MBA program,
[00:03:30.173]and our master's programs in the College of Business.
[00:03:32.910]Very proud.
[00:03:34.320]Well, this is just wonderful stuff
[00:03:36.480]and as a veteran that's very interesting
[00:03:38.820]to me as highly as everything ranks
[00:03:40.890]in terms of best options for veterans.
