- [00:00:43.524]The program will run from March through September,
- [00:00:46.474]with two half-day in-person sessions and two online sessions,
- [00:00:49.899]bringing learners together every other month.
- [00:00:52.416]The in-person sessions will be held at five
- [00:00:54.866]regional sites across Nebraska, including Norfolk.
- [00:00:57.596]The March 17 session will be held in Norfolk at the Lifelong Learning Center
- [00:01:01.731]on the Northeast Community College campus.
- [00:01:05.251]For more than a decade Nebraska Extension has
- [00:01:07.803]partnered with the Nebraska Association
- [00:01:09.683]of County Officials to offer the
- [00:01:11.383]Institute of Excellence leadership development program.
- [00:01:13.969]Over this decade long collaboration more than 400 elected and appointed
- [00:01:17.939]county officials in Nebraska have grown in their leadership capacities
- [00:01:21.653]through participation in the program.
- [00:01:24.713]In 2023, this leadership experience is open to community members,
- [00:01:28.713]and county and community leaders from across the state.
- [00:01:32.866]Topics to be explored through the Institute of Excellence
- [00:01:35.546]leadership development program, include:
- [00:01:37.461]getting to know your county and region
- [00:01:39.236]through data, priority planning for community leaders,
- [00:01:42.139]adaptive leadership, leadership transition,
- [00:01:45.370]engaging stakeholders and the community
- [00:01:47.820]on county priorities and working more effectively with others.
- [00:01:51.820]The curriculum for the regional session is designed to be local, looking at data
- [00:01:55.859]for your county and community or exploring what community engagement
- [00:01:59.779]looks like or could look like in your community.
- [00:02:02.824]Content and discussion will also be shaped in part
- [00:02:05.174]by those participating in the program and the experiences they bring
- [00:02:08.383]to the table as current and emerging community leaders.
- [00:02:11.600]The Institute of Excellence seeks to grow learners
- [00:02:14.253]not only in their personal leadership capacities,
- [00:02:16.543]but in how they engage with, understand, and ultimately
- [00:02:19.456]lead others in their communities and counties across Nebraska.
- [00:02:22.679]Moreover, this will be an opportunity to learn from and network with current and
- [00:02:26.679]aspiring leaders from across the state as they too explore their work and
- [00:02:30.679]leadership to help grow and strengthen their communities, counties, and regions.
