[00:00:40.080]Innovation Studio is a 16,000-square foot
[00:00:43.050]maker space for artists,
[00:00:45.000]innovators, and entrepreneurs.
[00:00:47.250]It comes equipped with a metal shop, wood shop,
[00:00:49.920]ceramics and textiles equipment,
[00:00:52.590]an art studio and more.
[00:00:54.960]There's a lot of opportunity
[00:00:56.220]and a lot of things that we can see
[00:00:58.017]doing together in collaboration
[00:01:00.240]between the College of Architecture
[00:01:01.830]and the Nebraska Innovation Studio.
[00:01:04.470]They have a classroom,
[00:01:05.490]they have the making facilities,
[00:01:07.710]and really, they do emphasize safety,
[00:01:10.200]which is one thing that we really want
[00:01:11.670]for our students,
[00:01:12.780]but they also emphasize creativity.
[00:01:14.610]Students being able to just come in and make.
[00:01:18.120]The students also attended
[00:01:19.710]a masterclass workshop
[00:01:21.600]led by nationally renowned
[00:01:23.040]furniture design maker Christopher Martin.
[00:01:26.071]Very architectural.
[00:01:27.840]And I came into the interior design program
[00:01:30.450]thinking that decor was what I wanted to do.
[00:01:33.420]But over the last two and a half, three years,
[00:01:36.390]I've discovered that furniture-making
[00:01:37.830]is the passion that I want to pursue.
[00:01:40.500]And so having this workshop opportunity
[00:01:42.480]was really eye-opening because it showed me
[00:01:46.440]that it's something that I am capable of doing
[00:01:48.540]and that my passion and my hard work
[00:01:51.420]are going in the right place.
