- [00:00:26.526]This program facilitated by Nebraska Extension,
- [00:00:29.846]provides a framework of education, research and engagement through which
- [00:00:33.126]communities can better understand
- [00:00:35.226]current and prospective resident perspectives and aspirations,
- [00:00:38.126]while inviting residents to help shape the community’s future plans.
- [00:00:43.256]By making a commitment to the ECAP program communities will embrace visionary thinking,
- [00:00:48.159]endorse entrepreneurial leadership, create synergy, and leverage resources
- [00:00:52.613]for attracting and retaining a working-age population.
- [00:00:56.389]Nebraska Extension educators and partners will facilitate the ECAP program in
- [00:01:00.719]cooperation with a community sponsoring organization and local ECAP steering committee.
- [00:01:07.644]The ECAP approach is built upon eight entrepreneurial characteristics that help
- [00:01:11.284]communities identify strategies to develop:
- [00:01:14.374]Community Vision, Culture of Change,
- [00:01:16.964]Leadership, Sense of Place,
- [00:01:19.554]Infrastructure, Digitally Connectedness,
- [00:01:22.029]Education/Workforce IQ,
- [00:01:24.504]and Entrepreneurial Support Systems.
- [00:01:28.264]Communities interested in the ECAP Program should ask
- [00:01:30.980]• Do you have a vision for the future?
- [00:01:33.437]• Is change easy for your community?
- [00:01:35.678]• Do you value and support innovation and entrepreneurs?
- [00:01:38.900]• Can your history launch the future?
- [00:01:41.313]• Is your community digitally connected?
- [00:01:43.569]If you can answer YES to any of the above – congratulations!
- [00:01:46.524]You’ve already demonstrated components of an entrepreneurial community.
