[00:00:06.389]And once again being hosted by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
[00:00:10.649]Doing what we can to increase understanding of and appreciation for science has always been important.
[00:00:17.789]But it may never be more important than these past few years right up to now, when communication on public
[00:00:24.558]health measures and the science supporting those measures has been so vital to protecting the health and
[00:00:31.201]wellness of people around the world.
[00:00:33.479]And the value of science communication will only continue to grow, we think, in the future.
[00:00:39.479]This work you're participating in during SciComm, toward better understanding and promoting effective
[00:00:46.574]communication of science to diverse audiences is right in line with the aims of our strategic plan, N2025 here
[00:00:54.296]at Nebraska.
[00:00:55.131]Our plan has six aims, one of which is focused on engagement and another that prioritizes inclusive
[00:01:02.721]excellence and diversity.
[00:01:04.619]So right here and right now is the perfect place in time for this SciComm conference, and we're certainly
[00:01:11.779]excited for you to be part of it.
