In this video, Husker Hub explains how current UNL students can order transcripts. We explain the different transcript ordering methods available, including ordering an unofficial transcript and ordering both a paper and electronic transcript. We have a separate video on how to order a transcript if you are an alumni or graduated from a closed school in Nebraska.

- [00:00:07.530]how currently-enrolled students can order a transcript,
- [00:00:11.130]whether it's an electronic transcript or a paper transcript.
- [00:00:14.970]Most of these functions will be going through MyRED
- [00:00:17.580]to then get to the actual website,
- [00:00:19.860]where transcripts are processed for electronic request.
- [00:00:23.910]Let's get started.
- [00:00:26.340]We'll start off this transcripts video
- [00:00:28.470]with how you can obtain your unofficial transcript
- [00:00:31.560]using the MyRED Student Portal.
- [00:00:33.990]So if you hover over the Academics tab,
- [00:00:37.080]you will select the Unofficial Transcript option.
- [00:00:40.920]You'll be redirected to this page,
- [00:00:42.900]where the transcript type will already be filled in for you.
- [00:00:46.860]And then once you select VIEW REPORT,
- [00:00:49.680]a new page with a PDF
- [00:00:51.120]of your unofficial transcript will appear
- [00:00:54.000]and you can download or print the document.
- [00:00:56.880]Again, this is just an unofficial transcript.
- [00:00:59.730]In the next part of this video
- [00:01:01.020]we'll go over how you can order an official transcript.
- [00:01:06.870]Now, if you're needing to order
- [00:01:08.400]a physical copy of your transcript to be sent by mail,
- [00:01:13.560]Academics tab, and this time select
- [00:01:15.480]Order Official Transcript,
- [00:01:18.180]and the Order Paper Transcript will be located
- [00:01:20.640]on the left-hand side,
- [00:01:22.320]and this is mailed through US Postal Service.
- [00:01:27.540]So again, transcript type,
- [00:01:29.790]this would be UNL unofficial transcript.
- [00:01:33.060]Please note that it is not possible
- [00:01:35.550]to request any type of special handling
- [00:01:38.190]through the MyRED request for a paper transcript
- [00:01:41.130]such as separate sealed envelope,
- [00:01:43.080]or Federal Express, or any holds for grades or degrees.
- [00:01:47.400]This would need to be completed
- [00:01:49.170]through the transcript request form.
- [00:01:53.250]In addition to that,
- [00:01:54.224]transcripts're not available for pickup at this time.
- [00:01:57.330]They will either need to be mailed to yourself
- [00:01:59.610]or a third party.
- [00:02:02.910]Now, for the quantity,
- [00:02:04.680]you can select how many copies it is that you're needing.
- [00:02:09.360]And then the delivery method, again,
- [00:02:11.100]will only be mail through US Postal Service.
- [00:02:15.600]Once you select Mail to Address,
- [00:02:17.400]it'll automatically give you the next two fields
- [00:02:20.940]or you can select who you're sending it to.
- [00:02:24.060]It'll be filled already with your name
- [00:02:26.760]if sending it to yourself.
- [00:02:28.080]You do have the ability of changing that name in there
- [00:02:32.130]if you're not sending it to yourself.
- [00:02:35.490]When selecting the address type,
- [00:02:36.990]if you are sending to yourself
- [00:02:39.000]you do have the option of sending it
- [00:02:40.890]to your diploma mailing address,
- [00:02:42.390]or your permanent address on file,
- [00:02:45.180]or sending into another address.
- [00:02:49.410]Once you select that option,
- [00:02:51.180]new fields will pop up
- [00:02:53.340]where you can enter the street address
- [00:02:55.050]of where you are sending your transcript.
- [00:02:57.210]It's important to be sure to go through these fields
- [00:03:00.300]and double check that you are entering
- [00:03:01.980]the correct information.
- [00:03:04.440]Once you've entered the address
- [00:03:06.030]and double checked that it's correct,
- [00:03:07.560]you can go ahead and select Make a Request.
- [00:03:10.668]This's the final page you should see
- [00:03:12.750]to confirm that your request has been processed.
- [00:03:16.440]If for any reason there are any issues
- [00:03:19.110]with processing your request
- [00:03:20.940]or any additional information is needed,
- [00:03:23.610]they will reach out.
- [00:03:25.440]And if you have any questions regarding this request,
- [00:03:28.080]you can contact Husker Hub or the registrar's office.
- [00:03:32.940]If you're needing to order an electronic transcript,
- [00:03:35.640]you'll hover over the Academics tab in MyRED again
- [00:03:38.430]and select Order Official Transcript,
- [00:03:40.980]and on the right-hand side
- [00:03:42.210]you'll see the Order Electronic Transcript.
- [00:03:46.320]There's a couple of messages here in this first box
- [00:03:49.410]that I recommend reading through.
- [00:03:51.570]Most importantly, the cost for a document order
- [00:03:55.350]as well as the expiration date.
- [00:03:57.360]It will be available for 30 days,
- [00:03:59.880]but once they are ordered after this time
- [00:04:02.820]you will need to place a new order.
- [00:04:06.000]Additionally, transcripts will not be processed
- [00:04:08.580]if you have a hold preventing the release of transcripts.
- [00:04:12.300]So if you have a hold,
- [00:04:13.350]please resolve this hold prior to ordering
- [00:04:16.410]or contact Husker Hub at 402-472-2030
- [00:04:21.450]if you're needing assistance with the holds.
- [00:04:24.690]Additionally, if you're a current student
- [00:04:26.700]that is awaiting for your grades to be posted
- [00:04:29.160]or your degree to be posted to your transcript,
- [00:04:32.160]you can ask for there to be a hold placed
- [00:04:35.160]on the release of your transcript of processing the order
- [00:04:38.700]until those items are posted on there,
- [00:04:41.940]one or the other or both.
- [00:04:43.680]Just keep in mind the dates that are listed on the website
- [00:04:46.860]at the time of ordering
- [00:04:48.750]if you do place an order ahead of time with that hold.
- [00:04:52.380]Lastly, it talks about the payments
- [00:04:54.359]that're accepted if there is a cost involved,
- [00:04:56.850]so they accept any major credit or debit card.
- [00:04:59.640]At the very bottom,
- [00:05:00.540]if you've ordered a transcript already
- [00:05:02.490]you can select the View Transcript Order status.
- [00:05:07.350]You'll be asked for the order number and the email address,
- [00:05:10.200]and then you can select View Status to view that.
- [00:05:15.450]Once you've read through everything,
- [00:05:16.620]you can select Order Transcripts.
- [00:05:21.360]Here you will be asked for your personal information.
- [00:05:24.840]Please be sure to completely fill out every field
- [00:05:28.950]that is on here.
- [00:05:31.560]If your name has changed since you last attended school,
- [00:05:34.800]you will want to select Yes,
- [00:05:36.840]and then another box will appear under
- [00:05:39.750]where you will be able to enter the name you had
- [00:05:43.230]while attending school.
- [00:05:45.720]If your name has not changed,
- [00:05:47.190]you can select No,
- [00:05:48.270]and then you will be asked for your eight-digit NUID number
- [00:05:51.270]or your social security number.
- [00:05:53.640]If you were not currently enrolled
- [00:05:55.590]at the University of Nebraska Lincoln you select No,
- [00:05:58.770]and then you will be asked for the dates of your attendance.
- [00:06:02.460]In this next section,
- [00:06:03.840]you'll be asked to enter your personal contact information.
- [00:06:08.190]Once you've entered your contact information,
- [00:06:10.230]if you would like to receive text updates
- [00:06:13.020]you will select Yes to opting into these text updates.
- [00:06:18.570]This next page is where you can select
- [00:06:20.640]who the recipient of your transcript will be.
- [00:06:23.490]There're a couple of options
- [00:06:25.650]that are already auto-filled for you.
- [00:06:28.680]For example, if you're sending to a college or university;
- [00:06:31.560]an education organization,
- [00:06:33.270]application service, scholarship,
- [00:06:35.190]and professional licensing;
- [00:06:37.050]an employer or other;
- [00:06:38.730]or sending it to yourself.
- [00:06:42.600]And if sending to an employer or other,
- [00:06:44.820]you will just first be asked for their name.
- [00:06:49.320]So just putting this as a general example.
- [00:06:54.300]And then we'll use this to move forward.
- [00:06:59.700]Now, the next part is asking
- [00:07:01.740]how you want your transcript to be processed.
- [00:07:05.400]So again, if you want to process it as it is
- [00:07:10.470]you can select that,
- [00:07:11.430]or after your degree is awarded,
- [00:07:12.990]or after grades're posted.
- [00:07:14.910]Again, recall that if selecting
- [00:07:17.040]either of these second two options
- [00:07:19.920]those won't be released right away,
- [00:07:22.650]and they will not be released
- [00:07:23.850]until the dates posted in the first page.
- [00:07:32.010]Here you can select the type of transcript you want
- [00:07:35.010]or a verification if you're needing a verification,
- [00:07:40.680]and then the reason for it.
- [00:07:42.330]So either admission, or registrar,
- [00:07:44.550]certification, employment, graduate admission, other.
- [00:07:49.050]And then here the delivery information.
- [00:07:52.590]You'll then be asked how you want your transcript sent,
- [00:07:55.470]as well as how many copies you want.
- [00:07:59.490]Please be sure to read through
- [00:08:00.690]the school's terms and conditions,
- [00:08:03.060]and note that after the school processes the request
- [00:08:06.690]the recipient will be emailed a link
- [00:08:08.580]to a secure internet page
- [00:08:10.470]where they can retrieve the official transcript.
- [00:08:14.430]Once you've read through the entirety
- [00:08:15.870]of the terms and conditions
- [00:08:17.430]if you agree, go ahead and click yes.
- [00:08:20.490]And if you're needing to upload any attachment,
- [00:08:23.100]for example, if you have an attachment
- [00:08:26.190]that has to go with your transcript,
- [00:08:27.480]you can add that file here.
- [00:08:29.430]Then you'll be presented with your fee summary
- [00:08:31.770]and you can go ahead and click Continue.
- [00:08:33.810]Here is where you can enter the email address
- [00:08:36.450]for where you want the transcript delivered to.
- [00:08:42.540]Once you've entered the email address and confirmed it
- [00:08:45.570]as well as checked it twice,
- [00:08:47.010]go ahead and select Add to Cart.
- [00:08:49.080]Here you can see the details
- [00:08:50.610]of your transcript order request.
- [00:08:53.460]And you can select Add Recipient
- [00:08:55.320]if you're needing to send it to someone else.
- [00:08:59.850]If everything looks correct go ahead and select Checkout.
- [00:09:03.900]Before checking out
- [00:09:05.130]you'll be required to sign a consent form.
- [00:09:08.880]You can electronically sign it
- [00:09:11.370]using either your finger if you're on an iPad
- [00:09:14.040]or have a touch screen,
- [00:09:15.630]or using your mouse to sign the form.
- [00:09:26.310]Once you've read through everything and signed,
- [00:09:31.350]you can select Accept Signature and Continue.
- [00:09:37.020]The last page will be the checkout page,
- [00:09:39.120]where you will enter your credit card details
- [00:09:42.690]for the processing of the payment.
- [00:09:44.940]And once you select Submit Order,
- [00:09:47.100]you should receive a confirmation to your email
- [00:09:50.880]to let you know that the transcript is being processed.
- [00:09:55.140]Again, you can always come back to this page
- [00:09:57.630]and check on the status of your transcript
- [00:10:00.420]by going through MyRED
- [00:10:01.890]or to the National Student Clearinghouse website
- [00:10:05.250]and select View Transcript Order Status.
