Lincoln Public Schools and the College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln are joining to launch Nebraska Business at Standing Bear High School. The newest LPS focus program will allow high school students to learn about the dynamic world of business and take courses to explore and learn more about potential career opportunities in business. LPS Superintendent Steve Joel explains more.

[00:00:14.240]how come we don't have vibrant partnerships
[00:00:16.910]with the University of Nebraska,
[00:00:18.660]flagship university in the state
[00:00:21.350]and in our community?
[00:00:22.870]And most of our students are, largest percentage
[00:00:25.960]of our students are matriculating at UNL and
[00:00:29.520]and awful lot of our graduates are UNL graduates
[00:00:32.120]or excuse me, our teachers.
[00:00:33.120]And so we are absolutely delighted to
[00:00:37.410]be part of this vibrant partnership
[00:00:40.430]and to provide this opportunity for our students.
[00:00:43.240]But it wouldn't happen
[00:00:44.730]if we didn't have administrative leadership that was
[00:00:49.060]progressive and faculty willingness to participate in that.
[00:00:52.780]You're gonna get great kids, this a great facility.
[00:00:55.630]It's a great university, students that come out of
[00:00:58.350]the University of Nebraska are well prepared.
