[00:00:13.880]can go about making their payments
[00:00:15.620]via the UNL E-Payment portal.
[00:00:17.420]For the purposes of this video,
[00:00:18.750]I'll be sticking mostly to the process of paying online
[00:00:21.130]through MyRed and the CASHNet E-Payment portal
[00:00:23.480]for authorized payors,
[00:00:25.020]but personal checks and money orders
[00:00:26.470]can be both mailed and brought in person to UNL.
[00:00:29.550]We do not take payments over the phone.
[00:00:31.048]There are a few other payment methods that will be discussed

[00:00:37.370]The University of Nebraska at Lincoln
[00:00:38.610]recommends E-Payments via online check
[00:00:41.290]using a routing and account number
[00:00:42.870]of a valid US checking or savings account,
[00:00:45.410]as it comes with no additional convenience fee.
[00:00:47.808]It is important to confirm the checking or savings account
[00:00:50.850]routing and account numbers before a submission
[00:00:52.760]of online check payment.
[00:00:54.250]For any students or authorized payors
[00:00:55.860]paying online via an e-check,
[00:00:57.630]you can verify your checking or savings bank account number
[00:01:00.493]and routing transit number by looking
[00:01:02.490]at a physical paper check blank.
[00:01:04.670]The routing transit number and bank account number
[00:01:06.740]are located in the lower left corner
[00:01:08.330]at the bottom edge of the check blank.
[00:01:10.230]the routing transit number will always be nine digits long,
[00:01:12.568]and it's traditionally the first number read
[00:01:14.650]from left right at the bottom of the check.
[00:01:16.910]Beside the routing number,
[00:01:17.937]the account number is the second set of numbers printed
[00:01:20.300]on the bottom of your check, just to the right
[00:01:22.200]of the bank routing number.
[00:01:23.830]Account numbers can be up to 17 digits long.
[00:01:25.851]Typically the check number will be displayed
[00:01:27.900]to the right of the account number,
[00:01:29.500]but will not be required to be inputted
[00:01:31.090]for online e-check payments.
[00:01:33.000]For individuals paying who do not have access
[00:01:34.810]to a physical paper check,
[00:01:36.270]you can either consult your banking institution online
[00:01:38.488]to find your full routing and account numbers.
[00:01:41.200]But if you are still unable to confirm them online,
[00:01:43.690]please contact your bank for assistance.
[00:01:45.880]Even more importantly, the student or authorized payor
[00:01:48.686]should verify that their payment information
[00:01:50.882]and account has sufficient funds before making any payment.
[00:01:54.840]Both credit and debit card payments are the second method
[00:01:57.430]for paying in the E-Payment portal.
[00:01:59.430]There is a 2.75% convenience fee
[00:02:01.780]that will be applied for all card payments.
[00:02:03.483]As mentioned previously, we do not accept card payments
[00:02:05.933]over the phone or in person.
[00:02:07.502]Should a student or their authorized payor have a debit card
[00:02:10.410]as a method payment?
[00:02:11.740]Consider paying via online check instead,
[00:02:14.200]using the routing and account number information
[00:02:16.180]associated with that debit card.
[00:02:18.320]Please be sure to not input a debit card number
[00:02:20.690]when paying by online check, as this will result
[00:02:23.430]in a $30 return payment fee.
[00:02:25.530]I'll also say briefly,
[00:02:26.530]if needing to make payments in person?
[00:02:28.079]Our Bursar/Cashier Office
[00:02:29.820]does take personal and cashier check payments,
[00:02:32.060]as well as money orders during normal business hours.
[00:02:35.010]The Bursar/Cashier Office has a drop off envelope area
[00:02:38.060]if you need a drop off a check or money order payment
[00:02:40.230]outside of business hours.
[00:02:41.970]Always make sure to include
[00:02:43.010]the students eight digit NU ID number
[00:02:45.060]on the check or money order.
[00:02:46.730]I will stress once more, that debit or credit card payments
[00:02:48.870]cannot be taken in person or over the phone.
[00:02:51.122]If wanting to mail in a check, a 529 payment,
[00:02:54.280]any payments from a trust, IRA, 401k or money order.
[00:02:57.550]You're welcome to remit payment via mail
[00:02:59.470]at the address that can be found
[00:03:00.670]at the Bursar's Office webpage.

[00:03:04.460]Now, to jump into screenshots of the student MyRed cash
[00:03:07.600]and E-Payment portal.
[00:03:09.040]The student would first log into their MyRed homepage
[00:03:11.530]with their NU ID and due authentication.
[00:03:13.970]Then click "Pay Bill,."
[00:03:15.760]Mind you, beyond step two,
[00:03:16.974]the process of making E-Payments is the same
[00:03:19.850]for both students and authorized payors.
[00:03:22.240]For authorized payors,
[00:03:23.150]instead of logging into the students MyRed,
[00:03:25.490]they'll access the CASHNet portal via the hyperlink
[00:03:28.170]they hopefully saved as a bookmark in their browser
[00:03:30.730]from when they were first invited
[00:03:32.040]by their student via email.
[00:03:34.310]After the student or authorized payer logs in,
[00:03:36.440]a new window will open for the UNL E-Payment system.
[00:03:39.531]It's important to note that the current balance shown
[00:03:42.340]on this page is the current total balance
[00:03:44.580]on the student account,
[00:03:45.680]and may include new unbilled charges.
[00:03:48.290]These new unbilled charges will have a different due date.
[00:03:51.140]The unbilled activity may differ from the amount due
[00:03:53.610]on figure seen on the students as MyRed.
[00:03:56.700]Payment of only the amount due on figure
[00:03:58.710]is necessary to keep the account current.
[00:04:01.037]The next step in the E-Payment process,
[00:04:03.180]is to select the method of payment.
[00:04:05.210]The options will appear in a dropdown,
[00:04:06.860]first being new credit or debit card.
[00:04:09.040]Second, being new bank account.
[00:04:10.560]And the third, foreign currency, will be discussed
[00:04:12.710]in the "Payment Method Explains" video you can refer to.
[00:04:15.570]Before proceeding with making the payment
[00:04:17.090]based on the method selected,
[00:04:18.470]double check the amount showing in the payment amount area,
[00:04:21.570]as this would be the point at which
[00:04:22.700]to go back to the payment amount page,
[00:04:24.400]if you realized that you entered
[00:04:25.570]an incorrect payment amount.
[00:04:27.440]For online payments with credit card,
[00:04:29.210]the 2.75% convenience fee will be charged
[00:04:31.750]for all credit card payments.
[00:04:33.330]We only accept credit card payments
[00:04:34.680]via the CASHNet E-Payment portal.
[00:04:36.640]The credit cards that are currently accepted
[00:04:38.140]in the E-Payment portal are Discover, MasterCard,
[00:04:40.810]Visa and American Express.
