- [00:00:12.387]and I was gonna go here
- [00:00:13.830]and I was just gonna take my scholarship money,
- [00:00:15.880]live at home and just like do math all day.
- [00:00:18.370]But I think Dr. Barnes like going into my senior year
- [00:00:20.700]was like, hey, you should audition.
- [00:00:22.300]And I said, oh, okay, and the rest is history.
- [00:00:32.030]And so getting to be around all these pianists,
- [00:00:35.010]it really inspired me.
- [00:00:35.850]And like, I remember just thinking, okay yeah,
- [00:00:37.940]definitely after this experience,
- [00:00:39.450]like this is what I want to do.
- [00:00:41.460]And it was really like that first glimpse
- [00:00:43.270]into college that I really, really needed I think.

- [00:00:54.290]When Sean started interacting with us,
- [00:00:56.370]first in the Piano Academy,
- [00:00:58.170]and then as a student, it was so inspiring for me
- [00:01:01.090]to see his growth and the opportunities
- [00:01:03.800]that we were able to provide to him
- [00:01:05.140]and the other students at the University of Nebraska.
- [00:01:13.350]Education is a major part
- [00:01:15.090]of the Lead Center for Performing Arts' mission.
- [00:01:18.042]So every time we bring one of the greatest artists
- [00:01:19.430]in the world to Nebraska, we ask them not only to perform
- [00:01:22.470]on our stage, but we ask them to work with our students
- [00:01:25.410]in the classroom.
- [00:01:26.290]You know, one of my favorite memories
- [00:01:27.450]is of him interacting with Wynton Marsalis,
- [00:01:31.070]what an amazing opportunity that was.

- [00:01:35.420]have just been like absolutely fantastic.
- [00:01:37.150]It just inspires me, I want to go practice.

- [00:02:17.953]I was a guest artist with my jazz trio, the Prism Trio.
- [00:02:21.380]These two guys are my friends.
- [00:02:23.070]Like just some of my closest friends and oh man,
- [00:02:26.210]it's been so fun to play with them.
- [00:02:32.770]It's wonderful to see these students grow
- [00:02:35.360]from being freshman, into being paid for professional gigs.
- [00:02:39.240]He's such a talent and has so much potential.

- [00:03:03.390]that have really encouraged me to grow as a musician.
