[00:00:14.820]We're launching new franchising classes, starting
[00:00:18.181]a student organization and expanding the Center
[00:00:21.408]for Entrepreneurship's resources for Nebraska's
[00:00:24.635]franchise community.
[00:00:25.980]Franchising is often misunderstood, which prevents
[00:00:29.733]people from pursuing it.
[00:00:31.500]Franchisors offer the chance to buy into a
[00:00:34.668]business under an established business model, and trademark.
[00:00:39.090]Our goal is to support young entrepreneurs by
[00:00:42.381]helping them to start something, grow something
[00:00:45.816]and learn about franchising.
[00:00:47.820]Open to students of any major, the new franchising
[00:00:51.708]classes will show how franchising is wildly
[00:00:55.062]successful and accessible to everyone.
[00:00:57.960]After all, it's the only way to be in business for
[00:01:02.021]yourself, but not by yourself.
[00:01:04.410]Those interested will join more than 1300 students
[00:01:08.664]taking entrepreneurship classes each year at Nebraska.
[00:01:13.170]Some of those students already own a business.
[00:01:16.320]Others have a dream of being a business owner but
[00:01:19.570]don't have a clear path yet.
[00:01:21.390]We'll connect these students with mentors and internships.
[00:01:26.070]At meetings of our new franchise club, students
[00:01:29.544]connect with a wide range of alumni and friends
[00:01:33.019]within the franchise industry, both locally and nationally.
[00:01:37.290]Franchising success depends upon multiple
[00:01:40.142]stakeholders within a network.
[00:01:42.180]So we're doing the same thing at Nebraska.
[00:01:45.450]By collaborating with UNO and UNK, students
[00:01:49.208]interested in franchising at all three campuses
[00:01:53.308]have access to classes and to the club.
