- [00:00:07.980]In the last video,
- [00:00:09.070]we calculated the average standard deviation
- [00:00:11.850]and standard error for both of our treatments,
- [00:00:14.760]and now we are ready to create our bar graph.
- [00:00:18.550]So down here I have my two treatments,
- [00:00:21.570]and I have the average and standard error
- [00:00:24.090]for both of them at zero, six and 12 months.
- [00:00:27.510]To create my bar graph, all I need is
- [00:00:29.610]the average Biomulch remaining in the soil
- [00:00:33.300]immediately, six months and 12 months after incorporation.
- [00:00:37.240]So I'm going to highlight that data, Insert,
- [00:00:43.000]and I want a bar graph.
- [00:00:44.690]So I'm gonna click that arrow, and I want
- [00:00:47.580]the clustered column to compare values,
- [00:00:51.170]and so I'm just gonna move this here,
- [00:00:54.080]and so we need to switch the treatments
- [00:00:57.980]with the times that data was collected.
- [00:01:00.770]So to do that, all I do is I go to Design,
- [00:01:04.700]and I switch row and column.
- [00:01:07.870]So now I have treatments in zero, six and 12 months.
- [00:01:12.480]So next let's add in our error bars.
- [00:01:15.940]So to do this, again, it would be Design,
- [00:01:20.670]Add Chart Element, Error Bars,
- [00:01:24.750]and we wanna specify our error bars
- [00:01:27.990]'cause those are not correct.
- [00:01:29.220]So More Error Bar Options and immediately
- [00:01:32.940]after incorporation, our blue bars.
- [00:01:35.930]Okay, and I'm going to go to Custom and Specify Value,
- [00:01:43.490]and then I'm going to select the standard error for both
- [00:01:47.090]of the treatments at zero months
- [00:01:49.260]or immediately after incorporation,
- [00:01:52.280]and I'll do that for the positive
- [00:01:55.510]and the negative
- [00:01:58.219]and hit Enter.
- [00:01:59.930]So I have positive error value and negative error value.
- [00:02:03.840]Okay, and there are my error bars for zero,
- [00:02:08.170]for immediately after incorporation.
- [00:02:10.300]So now I have to do you that again for six and 12 months.
- [00:02:14.410]So Design, Add Chart Element, Error Bars,
- [00:02:19.500]More Error Bar Options, six months.
- [00:02:22.800]Okay.
- [00:02:25.040]Custom,
- [00:02:26.370]Specify Value,
- [00:02:28.550]and now I want the standard error
- [00:02:30.820]for both of them at six months,
- [00:02:34.290]and I'm gonna do that for the negative value as well.
- [00:02:40.220]Okay, there they are, and if you have the chart element
- [00:02:47.230]on the side of your bar graph here,
- [00:02:49.350]you could always do it that way.
- [00:02:51.080]So it'd be Error Bars.
- [00:02:53.060]Click your arrow, More Options,
- [00:02:55.780]and now I just wanna do 12 months.
- [00:02:58.220]Okay, and let's scroll over a little bit
- [00:03:03.256]and Custom, Specify Value,
- [00:03:07.380]and now I need the standard error
- [00:03:09.070]for both of my treatments at 12 months.
- [00:03:12.550]Highlight, negative value as well
- [00:03:16.900]and Enter.
- [00:03:18.700]Okay, and now I have my bar graph and my error bars
- [00:03:24.660]and of course, the last thing you always want
- [00:03:26.960]to do is have titles for your axis.
- [00:03:31.120]So Design, Add Chart Element, Axis Titles,
- [00:03:36.160]and we want the horizontal,
- [00:03:37.850]and we want the vertical as well.
- [00:03:43.010]So this is our treatment.
- [00:03:47.030]Oops.
- [00:03:50.300]So Biomulch treatment,
- [00:03:55.550]and this is gonna be Biomulch remaining in soil
- [00:04:05.420]and always add a title,
- [00:04:14.710]and that is how you create the bar graph
- [00:04:18.440]with error bars for your Biomulch treatments.
