[00:00:27.760]could be considered for your study abroad endeavor.
[00:00:30.610]It truly begins with your decision to study abroad.
[00:00:33.200]The most advantageous launching point
[00:00:35.180]for your education abroad journey is to plan it early,
[00:00:38.010]via Huskers Abroad 101 session
[00:00:40.120]or an advising session with the Education Abroad office,
[00:00:43.050]where an Education Abroad Coordinator
[00:00:44.630]will assist you in discovering and selecting programs
[00:00:47.530]that not only are conducive to the experience
[00:00:50.050]you aspire to have,
[00:00:51.190]but with one program that aligns
[00:00:52.620]with your educational ambitions
[00:00:53.930]that you've already begun to foster here on campus at UNL.
[00:00:57.800]An Education Abroad Office Coordinator
[00:00:59.570]will program search within MyWorld, which you can see here,
[00:01:03.300]tailored to the period of time
[00:01:04.870]in which you wish to study abroad,
[00:01:06.840]as well as one that's within your budget
[00:01:08.410]of financial aid awards,
[00:01:09.830]which is where a Student Services Specialist
[00:01:11.360]like myself comes in.
[00:01:13.410]After clarifying with the Education Abroad office
[00:01:15.490]about your decision of Abroad program,
[00:01:17.950]courtesy of your Abroad Coordinator's assistance,
[00:01:20.200]they'll provide not only
[00:01:21.140]Abroad scholarship deadlines and opportunities
[00:01:23.370]from within Education Abroad office
[00:01:25.420]for funding within your selected Abroad program itself,
[00:01:28.350]but they would also furnish you
[00:01:29.840]with an Education Abroad Cost of Attendance worksheet,
[00:01:32.560]shown here.
[00:01:33.420]Now this worksheet is the documentable bridge
[00:01:35.500]between your Huskers Abroad or Abroad Coordinator visit
[00:01:38.410]and your appointment via virtual visit or in-office
[00:01:41.670]with a Student Services Specialist at Husker Hub.

[00:02:36.160]Now, of course,
[00:02:36.993]after discussing with one of Husker Hub's
[00:02:38.680]Student Services Specialists,
[00:02:40.450]there may be additional follow-up required
[00:02:42.700]or you may need additional documents
[00:02:44.420]that a specialist can either complete and sign themselves,
[00:02:47.190]or at the very least get put in the hands
[00:02:48.990]of the financial aid officer
[00:02:50.560]who can complete the items that you need done.
[00:02:52.997]Many of these documents will be provided to you
[00:02:54.780]from either your coordinator in Education Abroad
[00:02:57.320]or from your Abroad program sponsor directly.

[00:03:04.360]or what they further require.

[00:03:15.120]From this Education Abroad
[00:03:16.160]Adjustment to Cost of Attendance page,
[00:03:17.860]it does state the Husker Hub
[00:03:19.380]Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
[00:03:21.120]will need to adjust your estimated cost of attendance
[00:03:23.060]for the term in which you plan to go abroad.
[00:03:25.380]So regarding tuition and fees, room and board,
[00:03:28.450]books and supplies, travel expenses,
[00:03:29.810]and other miscellaneous expenses.
[00:03:31.920]Some of these may include airfare,
[00:03:33.610]in-country transportation, day-to-day spending money,
[00:03:35.850]passport and visa fees, et cetera, et cetera.
[00:03:38.510]Regardless of the total cost,
[00:03:39.710]the amount you may be eligible to borrow
[00:03:41.090]may not exceed the federal limits based on your grade level.
[00:03:43.890]Steps to go about completing
[00:03:45.160]your Adjustment to Cost of Attendance form,
[00:03:46.950]you would receive from your Education Abroad coordinator
[00:03:49.100]to provide to a Husker Hub Specialist
[00:03:51.560]would be first and foremost
[00:03:52.750]to complete the form during that advising appointment
[00:03:54.810]with your Education Abroad coordinator.
[00:03:57.259]And then after that,
[00:03:58.092]you're welcome to email the Education Abroad
[00:03:59.840]email account at educationabroad@unl.edu
[00:04:02.950]with the following information:
[00:04:04.610]the name of your Education Abroad program,
[00:04:06.700]the chosen housing option applicable
[00:04:08.390]to your Abroad program,
[00:04:09.620]as well as the cost of your flight.
[00:04:11.110]The flight's not included in your program cost.
