- [00:01:32.440]of our students and of our faculty,
- [00:01:34.520]and some of our faculty just here
- [00:01:36.960]recently have been awarded a huge recognition.
- [00:01:41.170]One of the biggest recognition for academics in the world,
- [00:01:46.990]where we have had two faculty recently named
- [00:01:50.600]as Fellows of the American Association
- [00:01:52.710]for the Advancement of Science.
- [00:01:54.990]AAAS as it's referred to is the organization covering all
- [00:02:00.340]of the sciences in the US.
- [00:02:02.470]It's the most prominent scientific organization
- [00:02:04.950]in the world.
- [00:02:06.260]And only about 1% of the AAAS's membership
- [00:02:11.960]are recognized as fellows
- [00:02:14.060]as you really the highest levels of recognition in science.
- [00:02:19.410]This year, as I said

- [00:02:34.720]Former head of that department,
- [00:02:36.650]she just went back to the faculty
- [00:02:38.420]after serving as the head of the department
- [00:02:40.920]for a number of years
- [00:02:42.370]for her distinguished contribution
- [00:02:44.220]to the study of social inequality,
- [00:02:47.060]particularly around the area of infertility
- [00:02:50.240]and the inability to have children.
- [00:02:54.080]Public understanding of science,
- [00:02:55.880]removing inequalities in stem field.
- [00:02:58.180]She's been a leader in that as well
- [00:03:01.470]in communicating science to a wide ranging public.
- [00:03:04.350]And then additionally, Judy Walker, who is a mathematician,
- [00:03:08.210]Aaron Douglas Professor of mathematics.

- [00:03:29.460]Judy is one of the world's leaders in that area,
- [00:03:32.300]and also for Judy, for her work in advancing educational

- [00:03:37.970]particularly for women, also in mathematics,
- [00:03:41.620]she's recognized around the world in that arena.
- [00:03:45.500]And then students equally, some of our students,
- [00:03:48.330]we have just recently a couple of our Engler Agribusiness
- [00:03:53.150]Entrepreneurship Program students,
- [00:03:55.010]Cade Ludwig and Hunter Suchsland who are both seniors
- [00:03:58.910]in CASNR in our College of Ag Sciences and Natural Resources
- [00:04:02.570]who have won a $25,000 prize.

- [00:04:33.700]and 11 States in the US.
- [00:04:35.570]So they kinda turned their love of fishing into a business
- [00:04:38.710]and are having great success in it as well.
- [00:04:41.540]So just tremendous, achievement on the part of Julia
