Nebraska communities create, develop and strengthen their towns through childcare improvement projects with the help of UNL's Rural Fellowship interns and their innovative education and experience.

[00:00:12.980]with holding a feasibility luncheon.
[00:00:14.900]During this event, we invited an architecture firm
[00:00:17.210]from Omaha out to our community to look
[00:00:19.060]at potential childcare center locations
[00:00:21.290]and to give a presentation to community leaders.
[00:00:24.110]This new service will provide childcare to allow parents
[00:00:26.950]and grandparents the ability to go to work.
[00:00:29.230]It'll provide new jobs, which will bring more families,
[00:00:31.870]which will grow the town.
[00:00:33.270]That growth means more money being spent here,
[00:00:35.360]which means greater economic prosperity.
[00:00:37.140]That all summed up is simply
[00:00:39.270]a better quality of life for everyone.
[00:00:42.270]Having our Rural Fellows participate
[00:00:44.090]in Loup Valley Childhood Initiatives efforts
[00:00:46.570]was a great asset because they were able
[00:00:48.460]to provide a fresh perspective on the effects
[00:00:51.170]childcare can have on a community.
