[00:00:11.850]What does the program allow students to do
[00:00:15.300]that's pretty unique on university campuses?
[00:00:18.730]We operate with the belief that every student
[00:00:21.250]is capable of writing their own story
[00:00:23.170]and building something special and meaningful.
[00:00:26.230]And so we are all in on building people
[00:00:28.410]who build enterprises that contribute
[00:00:30.160]to building really great communities.

[00:00:34.080]We believe that people have the capacity very early
[00:00:37.480]in their lives to take the helm
[00:00:39.700]and to build something special for Nebraska

[00:00:47.530]new business development is kind of the mindset
[00:00:50.397]and the mindset of entrepreneurship.
[00:00:52.490]What kinds of businesses or are students creating?
[00:00:56.850]Well, we're the Wild West.
[00:00:58.460]It's everything from high-tech to old world craftsmanship,
[00:01:02.210]direct to consumer, online selling, full on retail,
[00:01:06.560]manufacturing, the full scope.
[00:01:08.970]We honor them all.
[00:01:10.130]We believe in them all and there's no better place
[00:01:13.220]in the heartland to build entrepreneurship

[00:01:17.560]Tell us a little bit about what it's like to learn
[00:01:20.530]in the Engler Program?
[00:01:21.870]Yeah, absolutely.
[00:01:22.703]So Engler is people focused and entrepreneurship driven,
[00:01:25.690]so we always start with the person though.
[00:01:27.670]And so for me, that started with learning
[00:01:29.220]the entrepreneurial mindset and seeking a growth mindset
[00:01:31.740]and how I can find my purpose
[00:01:33.740]and where I want to add value
[00:01:35.280]and how entrepreneurship can be tailored to that focus,
[00:01:37.980]to that purpose.
[00:01:39.020]And so from then on, it went straight into experience.
[00:01:41.420]My capstone course was actually me running my business.
[00:01:44.660]I ran a direct to consumer longhorn beef business.
[00:01:47.200]I was seeking mentors.
[00:01:48.940]I was shadowing.
[00:01:49.870]I was doing customer and competitor discovery
[00:01:52.360]through cold calling, everything.
[00:01:53.800]And so I got lots of ownership in my experience,
[00:01:56.590]and that was ultimately the best thing
[00:01:58.170]that I could have gotten for my learning.
