[00:00:10.240]I was just excited to be in college
[00:00:12.430]and I didn't really know what I wanted to do.
[00:00:15.570]I thought it would be incredible if I could be a professor,
[00:00:19.070]but I didn't know if that would ever be possible.
[00:00:21.190]My name is Colton Harper.
[00:00:22.480]I'm a second year PhD student
[00:00:24.550]studying computer science and biology.
[00:00:28.060]There's so many different choices that we're faced with
[00:00:30.610]as an undergrad,
[00:00:31.750]especially a first-generation undergraduate student.
[00:00:34.540]I think, at least in my experience, UNL,
[00:00:38.090]I already had established relationships with the professors.
[00:00:41.710]And then, I had established research relationships
[00:00:44.820]with universities in Italy.
[00:00:47.230]And so, the possibility of going and doing research in Italy
[00:00:51.910]and having sort of a dual degree program
[00:00:54.570]was really interesting.
[00:00:55.730]To me, McNair is all about community
[00:00:57.880]and helping you, again, as an individual,
[00:01:01.020]achieving your goals.
