This is a short video of how to use the NetNutrition® website to view and build meals with Dining Service menus.

- [00:00:14.350]to the Net Nutrition website
- [00:00:15.720]that will showcase some of the useful features of the site.
- [00:00:18.780]We encourage you to take the time to explore this page
- [00:00:21.340]and learn everything that Net Nutrition has to offer
- [00:00:23.680]to improve your dining experience on campus.
- [00:00:27.440]First, we'll draw your attention
- [00:00:29.290]to the red navigation bar at the top of the page.
- [00:00:32.350]As you can see, there's a home button,
- [00:00:34.270]a drop down menu for the different units
- [00:00:36.840]available to view menu items on Net Nutrition.
- [00:00:40.570]Next to that, we have a show all dates tab.
- [00:00:43.890]We are currently projecting menus out seven days.
- [00:00:46.610]So as you can see today, you can look as far as Wednesday,
- [00:00:50.870]November 17th, to plan your menus if you'd like.
- [00:00:55.160]And finally, you can view specific meal information
- [00:00:59.900]for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
- [00:01:01.570]as well as Husker heroes and some other lines.
- [00:01:04.670]And some of our operations that are also divided out here.
- [00:01:09.210]Moving to the first column
- [00:01:10.820]on the left-hand side of the page,
- [00:01:12.240]we have just a brief description
- [00:01:14.190]of Net Nutrition and how to use it.
- [00:01:17.000]And then these links down here in the bottom will direct you
- [00:01:19.850]to different areas of the dining service's website,
- [00:01:25.129]which will represent mobile ordering app,
- [00:01:28.850]information about meal plans.
- [00:01:30.690]Some of the sustainability practices we utilize
- [00:01:33.580]in dining services, as well as our guest prices.
- [00:01:37.910]The center column here, you will see again,
- [00:01:40.480]the different dining units.
- [00:01:42.330]We will go into one of these here shortly.
- [00:01:44.680]These tabs will show when a unit
- [00:01:46.930]is currently open or closed.
- [00:01:49.420]And a few drop down menus here at the bottom,
- [00:01:52.710]that give more detailed information
- [00:01:54.830]about allergens restrictions, meal preferences,

- [00:02:07.470]The right hand column here has a my meal section
- [00:02:10.270]with a my nutrition.
- [00:02:11.600]We'll go into this in just a moment,
- [00:02:13.360]as well as a list of our allergens,
- [00:02:16.810]restrictions and meal preferences and their icons.
- [00:02:19.840]Again, we will go into these in just a moment,
- [00:02:22.860]but I wanted to bring those to your attention
- [00:02:24.410]here on the right.
- [00:02:26.330]So, for today's demonstration,
- [00:02:28.670]let's say I want to go to Harper Dining Center
- [00:02:33.430]and I want to go there for dinner.
- [00:02:37.770]So I've clicked into Harper Dining
- [00:02:39.350]and viewed their dinner menu for today.
- [00:02:41.840]As you can see, it has their different serving lines.
- [00:02:45.030]You can expand these tables to get a better picture
- [00:02:48.750]of what is being served on that day.
- [00:02:51.770]And it provides you more in-depth information
- [00:02:55.500]of what's being served on the menu.
- [00:02:58.180]If you click an item, it will show
- [00:03:04.860]that item's more specific nutrition information.
- [00:03:08.530]You'll also be able to see this in my meal
- [00:03:10.897]and just my nutrition, my meal in just a moment,
- [00:03:13.910]but it gives you more specific
- [00:03:15.740]nutrition information for each item.
- [00:03:18.500]So let's say I want to plan my meal for this evening.
- [00:03:23.170]And I am going to go to Harper, A plus line.
- [00:03:28.240]I'm going to get the pot roast vegetables.
- [00:03:34.550]I am going to go to the salad bar and get some deviled eggs.
- [00:03:40.730]And I am going to visit the smoke house
- [00:03:46.660]and get a rotisserie chicken quarter.
- [00:03:51.560]So as you can see, I selected those items
- [00:03:53.640]pressing the plus button to the left here
- [00:03:56.310]and on the right in the my meals section,
- [00:03:58.890]it added those items.
- [00:04:00.210]So we see the A-plus pot roast vegetables, the deviled eggs,
- [00:04:04.350]and the rotisserie chicken quarter.
- [00:04:07.620]Now these are representing how many servings
- [00:04:10.760]of those items you could get.
- [00:04:12.210]So you could boost your serving size,
- [00:04:14.520]reduce your serving size,
- [00:04:16.350]but the important information that we wanna draw
- [00:04:18.370]your attention to
- [00:04:19.992]is if you press this my meal button,
- [00:04:21.940]you can see the nutrition information
- [00:04:24.730]for those three items you selected in more detail,
- [00:04:29.100]you can scroll to the right as well as a meal summary.
- [00:04:33.570]This is taking into account all items you've added
- [00:04:36.660]to your meal and adding all this information up.
- [00:04:39.750]So you can see at a glance,
- [00:04:41.680]the nutrition information for your entire meal.
- [00:04:45.590]I'm going to remove these items from my meal for now
- [00:04:49.000]and bring your attention to the icons
- [00:04:51.130]listed to the right of each meal item.
- [00:04:53.640]These icons correspond to the icon lists
- [00:04:57.130]here in the right side column of this page.
- [00:05:00.460]So if you look to the right here,
- [00:05:02.890]you can see that this pink gluten icon
- [00:05:07.300]represents either contains or may contain gluten.
- [00:05:12.770]If you do have a particular allergen that you must avoid
- [00:05:18.230]or are looking for a certain meal preference,
- [00:05:21.550]you can filter out items or ask to see
- [00:05:25.710]only items that meet certain preferences.
- [00:05:29.950]For example, using the gluten example,
- [00:05:32.360]if I do not want a item on my meal list
- [00:05:37.030]that has gluten in it,
- [00:05:38.130]I would simply select contains gluten or may contain gluten.
- [00:05:42.860]And as you can see, all items that contained gluten
- [00:05:46.580]are no longer represented.
- [00:05:48.570]So you get a better list of items that you're looking for.
- [00:05:53.400]I'm going to unclick those items.
- [00:05:56.150]So now those gluten items are back in my list.
- [00:05:58.900]And now I'm going to tell the system that I only want
- [00:06:02.360]to see vegan and gluten free options.
- [00:06:07.390]As you can see, the item list grew significantly smaller,
- [00:06:12.400]but all the items that I now see,
- [00:06:14.190]because these are considered preferences,
- [00:06:17.180]are gluten-free and vegan.
- [00:06:20.420]You will also notice that some of these items
- [00:06:22.810]also contain allergens.
- [00:06:24.180]So that's something to be aware of, for example,
- [00:06:27.020]edamame contains soy, or may contain soy,
- [00:06:31.390]walnuts, obviously tree nuts and so forth.
- [00:06:35.240]So this is just a brief example of how you can use the site
- [00:06:39.870]to better serve your needs.
- [00:06:41.620]Particularly if you have an allergen
- [00:06:45.680]that you must be aware of
- [00:06:47.370]when you are dining with us or a meal preference.
- [00:06:51.420]So I hope you found this helpful.
