- [00:00:29.789]You know the lion wasn’t always the king of the jungle?
- [00:00:34.794]Before, he was instead a black buffalo, mean and stupid.
- [00:00:39.908]His name was Dankélé. And Dankélé was a tyrant.
- [00:00:45.405]No animal could do anything in the jungle
- [00:00:47.891]without asking to have his permission first.
- [00:00:51.344]However, there was only one single river.
- [00:00:53.860]It’s a stream for all the animals,
- [00:00:56.513]where they go to drink when they were thirsty.
- [00:00:58.959]But it was necessary to first have permission
- [00:01:01.469]from the great and mean Dankélé.
- [00:01:04.847]One day, the lioness with her little one, named Simba.
- [00:01:11.510]Simba was quite thirsty.
- [00:01:13.318]His mother couldn’t do otherwise
- [00:01:15.863]and went with Simba to the stream.
- [00:01:18.958]And the king Dankélé wasn’t there,
- [00:01:21.020]so she gave him some to drink.
- [00:01:23.213]When Dankélé arrived, he came with his storytellers,
- [00:01:27.666]with everyone who sang for him :
- [00:01:29.732]« Dankélé, Dankélé you are the greatest »
- [00:01:33.997]« You are greater than Sundiata »
- [00:01:37.402]« You are greater than Da Monzon »
- [00:01:40.575]« You are greater than Alexander the Great »
- [00:01:45.443]And when he arrived, he saw that someone
- [00:01:47.713]had drank from the river.
- [00:01:49.333]He got angry. He went around and searched.
- [00:01:52.224]He asked with such fury,
- [00:01:54.583]« Now who drank from the river ?! »
- [00:01:57.676]All the animals were taken with fear and recoiled.
- [00:02:01.566]He threatened them, « If you don’t tell me
- [00:02:04.204]who drank water from my river, I will punish you alllllll ! »
- [00:02:09.317]The hyena took fright and said,
- [00:02:11.739]« I’m not going to pay for what I haven’t done »
- [00:02:14.739]She denounced the lioness.
- [00:02:17.215]Da Monzon (Dankélé) made way towards the lioness,
- [00:02:20.551]« Why did you drink from my river ? »
- [00:02:23.332]The lioness explained to him it was for the little lion Simba,
- [00:02:26.802]for he was so thirsty.
- [00:02:28.506]But Da Monzon (Dankélé), the mean king
- [00:02:31.168]didn’t want to understand and with a paw swipe, Raaa!
- [00:02:35.528]He killed the lioness.
- [00:02:37.739]But Simba managed to flee into the bush.
- [00:02:42.270]A few years later, Simba had grown up.
- [00:02:46.192]He was no longer little Simba.
- [00:02:48.122]He’d become a big lion,
- [00:02:52.010]handsome and majestic with a mane all around.
- [00:02:56.924]He came back to see the king, « King Dankélé,
- [00:03:00.424]do you remember me ? »
- [00:03:02.291]Dankélé the king said, « no »
- [00:03:04.330]But his storytellers whispered in his ears,
- [00:03:06.838]« It’s the little Simba of whom you killed his mother
- [00:03:09.135]a few years earlier »
- [00:03:10.971]Simba took revenge, « Raaaaaa ! »
- [00:03:14.492]with a raging paw swipe.
- [00:03:17.017]He devastated the buffalo king who fled from all the bush.
- [00:03:23.285]No longer would they see him again.
- [00:03:24.707]From then on, it’s Simba who is the Lion King.
- [00:03:28.246]Simba decided to be the lion and king, true and honest,
- [00:03:33.290]so that justice reigned for all the animals.
- [00:03:37.744]Kids. Do you know this ? Do you know this ?
- [00:03:41.752]This is called seashells. You can find it at the beach, okay ?
- [00:03:47.314]I hope you have learned something with me today.
