[00:00:07.700]Hi everyone. My name is Mpho Tjope. I'm going to tell you a story
[00:00:12.590]about a tortoise. Long, long, long time ago, when animals could talk,
[00:00:17.810]there lived a tortoise in a small village.
[00:00:21.380]It lived with other animals like a rabbit, tiger, lion.
[00:00:26.630]So they lived in a place that is small. On this side of the river,
[00:00:31.670]this side of their village was a river - a small river.
[00:00:34.970]And the other side was a hill.
[00:00:37.670]The tortoise kept wondering, "I wonder what lies
[00:00:41.210]beyond this river. The other one,
[00:00:44.090]I wonder what lies beyond this hill?" And all the other
[00:00:47.870]animals told the tortoise, "There's nothing. There's --
[00:00:51.410]the word only has this village.
[00:00:54.200]So there's nothing else out there." But the tortoise kept
[00:00:58.550]wondering, kept asking. One day it met an eagle.
[00:01:04.420]and asked the eagle, "I want to be up there to see what is in this world."
[00:01:09.140]And then eagle agreed and took the tortoise. And they
[00:01:14.420]they flew up, and up they flew. The tortoise
[00:01:19.010]starting seeing a river, started seeing the sea,
[00:01:24.200]and saw the big mountains, and skyscrapers, and saw
[00:01:28.940]people and saw other animals in other villages.
[00:01:33.510]The tortoise was wondered by it, was bewildered to see, "Wow!
[00:01:38.060]This world is bigger than I thought it was!"
[00:01:40.520]And then the good eagle came down with the,
[00:01:43.400]with the tortoise to put it back in that village. And tortoise
[00:01:47.440]was excited and wanted to tell everybody that, "Wow guys,
[00:01:52.130]there's a bigger word out there!" And told the rabbit,
[00:01:56.665]tortoise met the rabbit and said, "Rabbit, did you know that this-- well,
[00:02:00.920]this world is bigger than this village?" The rabbit laughed and said, "No,
[00:02:05.900]you're joking. I mean, I run faster than you.
[00:02:08.750]And I know around here,
[00:02:09.950]and all I know is this here and around in the village.
[00:02:15.050]And also the river. There's nothing like that." Tortoise
[00:02:18.560]was disappointed, told other animals,
[00:02:21.170]but they did not believe him. Until one day tortoise
[00:02:26.000]met an elephant, a wise elephant who told him, "Yes,
[00:02:30.530]I know the world is bigger, but do not mind,
[00:02:33.920]if people do not want to believe that the world is bigger."
[00:02:38.120]So the moral of the story is that the world is
[00:02:42.560]big. The viewpoint is different. There are
[00:02:47.030]different viewpoints. But remember this,
[00:02:49.850]doesn't mean that when the different views are,
[00:02:53.090]or the world is not as big as it is. So dream big.
