In this video, Husker Hub explains how to view and read your UNL consolidated bill. We will go through what is included within your bill, common questions and how to understand common acronyms and charges.

- [00:00:06.530]Today's video, we're gonna be going over how to read
- [00:00:08.790]your consolidated student bill,
- [00:00:10.360]there's a helpful link there if you wanna get information
- [00:00:12.560]regarding what we're going through today.
- [00:00:14.970]Instructions here regarding the common abbreviations
- [00:00:17.380]that are listed on this bill,
- [00:00:18.730]you'll see on the left column
- [00:00:19.860]that there's tuition, undergraduate, graduate,
- [00:00:22.540]professional, non-resident, and then there's the list
- [00:00:24.780]of colleges that have a higher cost per credit hour
- [00:00:27.070]than the base rate for a resident student
- [00:00:29.020]259 per credit hour, and then the non-resident base rate
- [00:00:32.610]of 830 per credit hour.
- [00:00:35.060]On this slide, you're gonna see the invoice
- [00:00:37.210]as it's generated for each monthly bill.
- [00:00:40.150]On the top right corner,
- [00:00:41.230]you're gonna see how to pay online through the MyRED,
- [00:00:43.870]which I will click up here shortly.
- [00:00:45.850]But then there's the also information
- [00:00:47.260]about how to make payment methods.
- [00:00:49.320]The top of the statement provides
- [00:00:50.330]those two common methods of payment,
- [00:00:51.860]you can pay online through the MyRED
- [00:00:53.450]if your students made you an authorized payer,
- [00:00:55.120]or you can send payment to that mailing address
- [00:00:57.330]that was previously listed.
- [00:00:59.380]Going further into the bill,
- [00:01:00.550]there is information here
- [00:01:01.610]regarding previous balances and payments,
- [00:01:04.030]and then the students NUID number is in the top left corner.
- [00:01:07.530]For previous balances that will list
- [00:01:09.080]anything from a prior month,
- [00:01:10.820]and that's listed on the invoice at the top.
- [00:01:12.740]It also displays the total of the amounts
- [00:01:15.280]that have been previously posted.
- [00:01:17.320]If there are balances remaining,
- [00:01:18.680]you would wanna make sure to check that area.
- [00:01:21.370]For new activity charges,
- [00:01:22.800]each billing statement does provide a summary
- [00:01:24.360]of all these new activity charges.
- [00:01:26.139]UNL does include all debits and credits
- [00:01:28.430]since the last statement.
- [00:01:29.530]Tuition and fees, on this breakdown,
- [00:01:31.650]you'll see the tuition line
- [00:01:32.660]as a total law tuition assessed during the billing cycle
- [00:01:35.400]and additional details of all your tuition
- [00:01:36.940]are available on page two of your statement,
- [00:01:39.400]With the red icons there,
- [00:01:41.090]there are asterisks there
- [00:01:42.160]that indicate new charges or refunds
- [00:01:44.340]that are supposed to be on the generated invoice per month.
- [00:01:48.740]For resident tuition,
- [00:01:49.720]I did want to provide you this information here.
- [00:01:51.980]As I mentioned previously,
- [00:01:53.000]the resident tuition for students
- [00:01:55.140]that graduated from Nebraska High School
- [00:01:57.040]and are attending UNL
- [00:01:58.130]is it the base rate of 259 per credit hour.
- [00:02:01.030]Other colleges,
- [00:02:01.863]tuition rates are listed appropriately
- [00:02:04.060]and as well for non-resident students.
- [00:02:05.470]As you can see here,
- [00:02:06.690]the base rate for a non-resident student
- [00:02:08.640]is a student who graduated from outside of Nebraska
- [00:02:11.130]at the rate of $830 per credit hour.
- [00:02:14.010]There are also those differential course credits
- [00:02:15.940]there listed.
- [00:02:17.560]For the mandatory fees,
- [00:02:18.720]there is a breakdown here that shows registration,
- [00:02:20.890]technology, which is per credit hour, ID card fee,
- [00:02:23.425]late registration fee, international student fee,
- [00:02:26.246]library fee per credit hour,
- [00:02:27.800]and the UPF and online course fees.
- [00:02:30.660]For financial aid and scholarship section of the bill,
- [00:02:33.280]the credits from financial aid and scholarships
- [00:02:35.090]are included on that statement.
- [00:02:36.230]So the details are listed as well on page two.
- [00:02:39.940]Further onto the second page of the bill
- [00:02:41.870]there's information regarding new charges.
- [00:02:43.627]So this is there.
- [00:02:44.600]You'd want to check for any balances
- [00:02:46.100]that would be due for the upcoming 12th of the month.
- [00:02:48.338]Of the following month,
- [00:02:49.880]that's listed on the bill invoice.
- [00:02:54.970]And then we're going to be looking
- [00:02:56.030]at some other details here quickly.
- [00:02:58.270]For the tuition details,
- [00:02:59.590]depending on the makeup of the enrollment, of course,
- [00:03:01.290]you could have multiple lines for the tuition detail,
- [00:03:03.500]which I've highlighted here.
- [00:03:05.020]Additional tuition lines are added for non-residents,
- [00:03:07.490]students that are taking online, distance,
- [00:03:09.020]or web conferencing,
- [00:03:10.150]and then also listings for differential tuition rates.
- [00:03:12.990]You want to make sure to be checking these,
- [00:03:14.550]and if you have questions,
- [00:03:15.530]you're welcome to contact us regarding
- [00:03:16.990]the breakdown of the specific tuition detail lines.
- [00:03:19.890]For special fee details,
- [00:03:20.970]some courses do have special fees,
- [00:03:22.300]course specific fees associated with them.
- [00:03:23.930]So you would want to check
- [00:03:24.763]this area for information pertaining to those.
- [00:03:27.260]They are listed as dollar amounts.
- [00:03:29.540]And program facilities fees,
- [00:03:30.740]as I mentioned in that previous page,
- [00:03:32.320]there are two levels of UPF assessments,
- [00:03:35.090]which are determined by the number of credit hours
- [00:03:36.610]a students enrolled in.
- [00:03:38.120]For information on this,
- [00:03:39.050]you can actually go down to that mandatory fees page
- [00:03:41.220]that I'd shown previously.
- [00:03:43.100]And then just some information.
- [00:03:44.100]This is where you can see the housing detail,
- [00:03:45.581]which does often show up later on
- [00:03:47.840]on the billing cycle statement.
- [00:03:50.420]And for the financial aid detail,
- [00:03:51.900]you would be able to see the breakdown
- [00:03:53.130]of the financial aid credits that are itemized.
- [00:03:55.470]You can find more details regarding
- [00:03:56.700]the financial aid from the scholarships,
- [00:03:58.130]financial aid official website
- [00:03:59.660]with the red hyperlink there as well.
- [00:04:01.550]So while this has been a broad overview
- [00:04:03.130]of how to read and view
- [00:04:04.310]your consolidated monthly bill at UNL,
