- [00:00:08.260]Congratulations on enrolling in your first semester
- [00:00:10.710]of courses at UNL.
- [00:00:12.470]You likely worked with your academic advisor to enroll
- [00:00:14.960]in classes using the enrollment scheduler.
- [00:00:17.560]As you familiarize yourself with MyRED,
- [00:00:19.510]you'll be able to log back in in the future,
- [00:00:21.810]and check your class schedule and locations at any time.
- [00:00:25.450]To see your schedule, log into MyRED,
- [00:00:28.000]and click the enrollment tab.
- [00:00:30.010]From here, there are two different ways
- [00:00:31.670]to view your schedule.
- [00:00:33.220]To see the basic class list with course names, locations,
- [00:00:36.770]times and days, click the tab for the correct term
- [00:00:40.510]and then click new schedule.
- [00:00:48.660]To see your list of courses displayed
- [00:00:50.420]as a weekly view block schedule,
- [00:00:52.840]you'll click the blue button
- [00:00:54.040]that says build schedule and enroll.
- [00:00:56.590]This is how you will access the course enrollment scheduler,
- [00:00:59.350]which is the system you use to enroll in courses.
- [00:01:03.200]Once the enrollment scheduler opens, select the correct term
- [00:01:06.690]and then click the current schedule tab
- [00:01:08.810]in the red navigation bar along the top of the window.
- [00:01:12.330]Your course list and weekly view block schedule
- [00:01:15.130]will now appear.
- [00:01:16.830]You scroll down to your block schedule,
- [00:01:19.120]you can see all of your classes for the week.
- [00:01:21.430]Both the list and the block schedule provides you
- [00:01:24.060]with the instructional method and/or location of the class,
- [00:01:27.520]as well as the instructor and number of credits.
- [00:01:30.370]On the course list,
- [00:01:31.690]you may notice multiple rows for the same class.
- [00:01:35.060]One row represents the lecture section of the class,
- [00:01:38.460]and any additional row represents a recitation,
- [00:01:41.810]a lab, or both.
- [00:01:44.520]A recitation is a course component
- [00:01:46.720]that encourages group discussion
- [00:01:48.250]and deeper understanding of the topics covered in lecture.
- [00:01:51.910]Recitation sizes are often much smaller than the lecture.
- [00:01:57.180]As a friendly reminder,
- [00:01:58.480]don't make any changes to your class schedule
- [00:02:00.690]until you consult your academic advisor.
- [00:02:03.280]And feel free to contact them with any enrollment questions.
- [00:02:06.610]Your contact information should be listed
- [00:02:08.610]in your MyRED account.
