- [00:00:19.550]Finally, during my sophomore year,
- [00:00:21.420]I found the Reformed University Fellowship,
- [00:00:23.440]which fulfilled my spiritual needs.
- [00:00:26.210]To address my feelings of homesickness,
- [00:00:28.030]I turned to my resident assistants.
- [00:00:30.140]Then I began to look into new learning communities,
- [00:00:32.540]and made new friends.
- [00:00:34.210]With the new communities I had found,
- [00:00:35.830]I began to feel that UNL was my home
- [00:00:39.050]After being diagnosed with anemia and low blood sugar
- [00:00:41.680]due to my unhealthy behaviors,
- [00:00:43.410]I decided it was time to get help.
- [00:00:45.340]I visited CAPS, and was then referred to a counselor
- [00:00:47.840]for my eating disorders and anxiety.

- [00:00:51.960]I am now on the road to recovery.

- [00:02:18.440]I was learning inside the classroom.
- [00:02:20.460]I strongly encourage students to seek out professors
- [00:02:22.720]who have research opportunities they might be interested in.
- [00:02:25.580]I was super excited to join the UNL juggling club,
- [00:02:28.810]but I quit after just one meeting.
- [00:02:30.850]It's okay to try a club and realize it's just not for you.
- [00:02:34.240]I help facilitate events
- [00:02:35.670]for students in underrepresented populations
- [00:02:38.400]by serving as the vice president
- [00:02:39.920]of the OASIS Student Advisory Board.
- [00:02:42.860]I wanted to find a group of people
- [00:02:44.440]with similar interests as me,
- [00:02:46.020]so I decided to attend the Club Fair,
- [00:02:48.400]where I found the Husker Equestrian Team.
- [00:02:51.080]I joined Dance Marathon
- [00:02:51.913]to be able to raise money for kids.

- [00:02:54.850]I've been a part of leadership positions
- [00:02:56.370]that have grown me as a person.
- [00:02:58.230]I joined Camp Kesem to serve my community.

- [00:03:01.700]and I'm able to help them through and beyond
- [00:03:03.500]a parent's cancer diagnosis.

- [00:03:07.840]you can also create your own.

- [00:03:15.580]for what you may want to pursue in college.

- [00:03:19.430]we recommend trying one club for a future career,
- [00:03:22.170]and one club for a personal interest.
- [00:03:24.490]It's never too late to pursue something,
- [00:03:26.550]and it's fine to drift from high school activities.

- [00:03:31.120]and most importantly, find things you enjoy.
