- [00:00:00.760]Welcome back to our CASNR series
- [00:00:02.840]where we're out and about connecting
- [00:00:04.570]with our amazing CASNR students.
- [00:00:06.840]Today, I'm joined by two students that live here
- [00:00:09.628]in the Massengale Residential Complex.
- [00:00:12.380]We're gonna take a minute to meet our students
- [00:00:14.460]and then we're gonna ask them some questions
- [00:00:15.870]about their experiences here in CASNR.
- [00:00:18.240]Would you mind introducing yourself?
- [00:00:20.310]Who you are?
- [00:00:21.620]Where you're from?
- [00:00:22.453]And what your major is?
- [00:00:23.286]Yeah. For sure.
- [00:00:24.320]Hi, my name is Faith John.
- [00:00:26.150]I'm from Carroll, Nebraska
- [00:00:28.290]and my major is I Communications.
- [00:00:30.470]Perfect. Thanks Faith.
- [00:00:32.500]Hi, my name is Lucy Schenone.
- [00:00:34.060]I'm from Omaha, Nebraska, and my major is Psychology.
- [00:00:37.260]Excellent. Excellent.
- [00:00:39.220]So with this now, let's talk a little bit about
- [00:00:41.145]this Massengale Residential Complex here.
- [00:00:45.430]What's something that you really like about Massengale?
- [00:00:49.430]I really like how Massengale's on East Campus
- [00:00:51.930]specifically.
- [00:00:53.430]I came from a small town,
- [00:00:54.500]so I'm used to the small town feel
- [00:00:56.670]and it makes me feel at home when (mumbles)
- [00:00:59.470]Excellent. So that sense of community. All right.
- [00:01:02.090]What about you?
- [00:01:03.290]I really like how RAs are so inclusive
- [00:01:06.440]to everybody and they want to get to know you
- [00:01:08.400]and everybody, your neighbors around you
- [00:01:10.470]wanna get to know you.
- [00:01:11.303]It's a really good community here.
- [00:01:13.060]Excellent. And then let's talk a little bit
- [00:01:15.210]about your academic degree programs
- [00:01:17.292]and what you see yourself doing or what excites you
- [00:01:20.760]about the programs that you're in?
- [00:01:23.209]So in the I Communications
- [00:01:24.340]there's like a lot of ways you can go.
- [00:01:27.060]And that really excites me because
- [00:01:29.420]I like doing the same thing over and over
- [00:01:30.997]but I also like trying to do things.
- [00:01:34.150]So I'm excited to go out and just get my hands dirty
- [00:01:36.540]and try a lot of different things.
- [00:01:38.050]Very nice, very nice. How about you?
- [00:01:40.980]Psychology is a very flexible major
- [00:01:43.440]which is really nice if I wanna get a lot
- [00:01:45.690]of minors within this degree.
- [00:01:46.913]It's a very, very open major,
- [00:01:50.750]and I'm hoping I can dig deep into school
- [00:01:53.300]and get my, you know, get good with children, so
- [00:01:57.290]Excellent. Excellent. So focused on a lot
- [00:01:59.370]in the youth space is what I'm hearing
- [00:02:01.640]and really, really important early child development,
- [00:02:05.740]what we do in our K to 12 schools.
- [00:02:07.871]So that's a really good area to be in.
- [00:02:10.180]And then obviously we need more people
- [00:02:12.020]in the area helping to tell the story
- [00:02:13.761]about agriculture, right?
- [00:02:15.580]And natural resources here in Nebraska
- [00:02:18.480]on a national scale and then well beyond
- [00:02:20.730]because it's so important to our global society.
- [00:02:23.230]So,
- [00:02:24.063]and then the last question
- [00:02:24.896]I'm gonna ask you, probably the most challenging,
- [00:02:27.070]is what's your favorite flavor of dairy store ice cream?
- [00:02:31.270]I am a sucker for some nice
- [00:02:32.643]chocolate ice cream. That's my favorite.
- [00:02:35.723]Me too! That's awesome.
- [00:02:37.105]What about you?
- [00:02:38.070]I have cookies and cream everyday.
- [00:02:39.398]Cookies and cream.
- [00:02:40.231]Can't turn that one down.
- [00:02:41.100]Right?
- [00:02:42.556]I wanna thank you both.
- [00:02:43.389]And again, thanks for joining us for this series.
- [00:02:46.010]And we'll connect back with you next week for we'll be
- [00:02:48.900]at another one of our facilities that serves our students
- [00:02:52.400]as living, learning opportunities here in the college.
- [00:02:55.170]Thanks.
