Young entrepreneurs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln compete for startup money in the annual New Venture Competition sponsored by the Nebraska Center For Entrepreneurship.

[00:00:11.540]is essentially for young entrepreneurs
[00:00:13.770]who really have a business that they wanna pursue
[00:00:16.150]and they are looking to get some startup money
[00:00:18.080]to maybe help them fund that business.

[00:00:23.210]I think something that Nebraska does really well
[00:00:25.040]is the College of Business
[00:00:26.290]is always pulling in students from other colleges.
[00:00:29.510]And so at this competition
[00:00:30.560]it wasn't just all business students,
[00:00:32.370]we have students from every college
[00:00:34.540]come and have their spin on their industry
[00:00:37.660]and how they can monetize it and do better.
[00:00:40.940]Its important in my opinion
[00:00:42.570]that we find a way to apply academics,
[00:00:46.040]to make a transition to something
[00:00:47.760]that is more practical on real world (indistinct).
[00:00:50.590]And I think the New Venture Competition is exactly that.
[00:00:53.330]Its taking education, building on ideas
[00:00:56.700]and then taking that forward
[00:00:57.850]to something that they can go into the real world with.

[00:01:04.390]for the future competitions that I would be involved in
[00:01:07.410]in future business interactions.
[00:01:09.220]So, they've been extremely beneficial today
