- [00:00:01.890]Hello,
- [00:00:02.760]this video is a tutorial on how to access and utilize the degree planner on MyRed.
- [00:00:08.970]the purpose of the degree planner is to be planful of the courses you will take
- [00:00:12.840]here at UNL.
- [00:00:14.640]The degree planner is a requirement for all students and will be tied to your
- [00:00:18.840]enrollment.
- [00:00:19.440]You will need to have created a degree plan before you are able to enroll in
- [00:00:24.360]your next term's courses. You will first need to log onto MyRed.
- [00:00:30.240]Once you are on MyRed and on the front page here,
- [00:00:32.850]you will hover over the Academics tab in the center of the screen.
- [00:00:37.380]You will then select the degree planner tab.
- [00:00:42.530]A new tab should open up to create a plan.
- [00:00:46.100]You will select the Create button.
- [00:00:50.600]This next page allows you to choose what plan to run.
- [00:00:53.720]You will want to click My Declared Program,
- [00:00:59.390]the What If function,
- [00:01:01.730]is a function that you could use later on to check out planned courses for other
- [00:01:05.780]majors on campus. But for now we will run My Declared Program.
- [00:01:12.860]After selecting My Declared Program,
- [00:01:14.930]you have the option of building from a pre-made plan or creating your own plan.
- [00:01:20.120]We advise you to build your own plan because every
- [00:01:24.290]plan for every student's going to be a little bit different,
- [00:01:28.640]and this will then allow for more options here.
- [00:01:32.210]You're going to leave the Catalog Year alone,
- [00:01:34.730]and then your major should be selected already. Now,
- [00:01:38.120]as an Explore Center student,
- [00:01:39.800]the options are Undeclared, Pre-Health Pre-Law or Pre-Engineering.
- [00:01:45.800]If the listed major here is not the major that you think you have,
- [00:01:49.640]you should consult with your advisor. You will then need to name your plan.
- [00:02:02.750]The Expected Graduation Term can be left alone.
- [00:02:06.410]The display summer terms.
- [00:02:07.790]You can check that if you are intending on taking summer courses.
- [00:02:12.800]Lastly, you will want to select 'Make this my enrollment plan'.
- [00:02:18.800]This box needs to be checked for enrollment and degree audit purposes,
- [00:02:22.400]but don't worry. The plans can always be edited.
- [00:02:25.250]So don't feel like you are locked into what you put in here. Next,
- [00:02:30.140]you will click 'Create and continue'.
- [00:02:34.490]This will bring you to the front page of the degree planner. And our next video,
- [00:02:39.410]we will walk through how to plan and select courses.
