- [00:00:18.650]It's a tool that will help you plan your academic career

- [00:00:25.870]To use the Degree Planner to make your first plan,
- [00:00:29.920]go to MyRED, hover over the academics tab
- [00:00:33.910]and click Degree Planner.
- [00:00:36.150]This brings you to the Degree Planner homepage.
- [00:00:40.050]Click the plus icon to create a new plan.
- [00:00:43.980]On the create plan screen,
- [00:00:45.540]you can craft a degree plan for your declared major
- [00:00:48.800]or make a what-if one to explore other majors.
- [00:00:53.660]You can also build your plans from the simple plan template
- [00:00:57.000]or build your own from scratch.
- [00:00:59.990]The create plan screen also allows you to select
- [00:01:03.260]an expected graduation date.
- [00:01:06.130]This determines the number of terms and length of your plan.

- [00:01:14.800]if you're thinking about taking classes during that time.
- [00:01:19.120]After you're done choosing your preferences in this menu,

- [00:01:24.610]This is how you make your enrollment plan.

- [00:01:53.940]The green check shows a requirement is complete.
- [00:01:58.000]The purple calendar means it is planned.
- [00:02:01.300]The blue dotted icon shows a class is in progress.
- [00:02:05.830]The gray one means you have not planned
- [00:02:07.820]for this degree requirement.
- [00:02:10.700]You can add a requirement by dragging and dropping it
- [00:02:13.550]from the requirements side.
- [00:02:15.880]You can also add multiple courses or increase the hours

- [00:02:23.070]Any transfer credits will appear at the bottom of this page.
- [00:02:28.210]Now, let's take a look at the icons on the top

- [00:02:34.710]The grid brings you back to the homepage,

- [00:02:41.920]Enrollment plans are those reviewed by your advisor.
- [00:02:46.470]They're tracked in your degree audit and will guide you
- [00:02:49.810]when you sign up for classes in the enrollment scheduler.
- [00:02:54.420]You can view any previously created plans too.
- [00:02:57.930]Back on the terms page, the icon in the upper right
- [00:03:01.620]is your options menu.
- [00:03:03.460]Here you can do a few things.
- [00:03:06.370]The icon legend shows you the meaning
- [00:03:08.680]of all the icons that are found in the degree planner.
- [00:03:13.230]Preferences links to the crate plan screen.
- [00:03:17.170]This is where you can edit your plans choices,
- [00:03:19.890]such as changing its name or your expected graduation date.
- [00:03:25.430]Map history tracks the changes to your plan.
- [00:03:29.650]Clear plan deletes plan requirements.
- [00:03:33.120]It will not clear any completed or enrolled courses.
- [00:03:38.150]You will be prompted before your plan is cleared.
- [00:03:43.360]Delete plan removes your degree plan.
- [00:03:46.840]Once again, you will be prompted before it is deleted.
- [00:03:51.850]Reset plan reverses your plan back to the sample template.

- [00:04:13.310]When you're finished crafting your plan,

- [00:04:22.260]First, you can check your work by clicking this icon.
- [00:04:26.340]If you can see any errors, then make corrections.
- [00:04:31.260]If you see the word revise, your plan may not be ready.
- [00:04:35.790]If you're unsure why you're being asked to revise,
- [00:04:39.050]you can still click continue to send your plan
- [00:04:41.830]to your advisor for discussion.
- [00:04:45.520]This upload icon saves your plan courses to both
- [00:04:48.698]the enrollment scheduler and your degree audit.
- [00:04:52.380]Be sure to re-upload your plan any time you make changes

- [00:04:58.220]This feature is only for your enrollment plan.
