- [00:00:05.073]is excited to welcome students back to
- [00:00:07.133]campus and ready to serve your dental
- [00:00:09.163]care needs. You may be wondering whether
- [00:00:11.943]it's safe to visit the dentist again. While
- [00:00:14.233]it's true that COVID-19 still exists in the
- [00:00:16.303]community, you can rest assured that
- [00:00:18.433]we are taking every measure possible to
- [00:00:20.733]keep our patients, our staff and our
- [00:00:23.013]Husker community safe. Here's what you
- [00:00:25.123]need to know before you visit.
- [00:00:27.113]You will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms
- [00:00:29.893]at the time you schedule your appointment,
- [00:00:32.525]one to two business days before your
- [00:00:35.688]appointment, and upon arrival to the
- [00:00:38.398]building. If you develop any of these
- [00:00:41.048]symptoms, you will be asked to reschedule.
- [00:00:47.737]We're following guidance from the American
- [00:00:49.797]Dental Association, the CDC and other
- [00:00:52.767]health organizations to ensure our cleaning
- [00:00:55.247]methods and operational practices
- [00:00:57.363]provide the safest environment for you to
- [00:00:59.853]receive care. This includes increased
- [00:01:02.583]cleaning of our waiting area and other
- [00:01:04.777]high-touch surfaces, such as door knobs
- [00:01:07.037]and pens. Wait times for appointments
- [00:01:10.240]may be a bit longer than usual. We are
- [00:01:12.990]staggering appointments to promote
- [00:01:14.930]social distancing and allowing enough
- [00:01:17.380]time to thoroughly disinfect our equipment
- [00:01:20.315]and rooms between patients. We've added
- [00:01:23.607]signs encouraging social distancing at
- [00:01:26.011]check-in and in our waiting area. Please
- [00:01:29.204]keep a six-foot physical distance between
- [00:01:31.634]others when possible. You will notice our
- [00:01:34.634]staff wearing more personal protective
- [00:01:37.044]equipment than usual. Depending on your
- [00:01:39.664]procedure, this may include an N95 or
- [00:01:43.464]surgical mask, surgical caps, gloves, face
- [00:01:47.744]shields, gowns and more. We have a new
- [00:01:51.744]hands-free high volume suction device
- [00:01:54.413]that removes excess saliva from your mouth
- [00:01:56.743]during aerosol procedures to help keep you
- [00:01:59.503]and our staff safe. Thank you for your
- [00:02:01.833]patience, and we cannot wait to have you
- [00:02:03.643]back at the University Health Center Dental
- [00:02:06.043]Clinic. If you have any questions about our
