[00:00:18.560]One of our objectives as a faculty and PhD committee
[00:00:21.930]is to help you graduate in four years
[00:00:23.790]with a research and teaching portfolio, a dissertation,
[00:00:27.170]several working papers, conference presentations
[00:00:30.140]and articles under review with top journals.

[00:00:34.880]you will only teach two courses in one semester.
[00:00:38.283]This enables you to use the remaining seven semesters

[00:01:39.720]I have had the opportunity to work closely
[00:01:42.670]with faculty mentors who were in each of my research project
[00:01:47.660]from doctoral seminars.
[00:01:49.960]I had the honor to coauthor with faculty,
[00:01:52.840]present at conferences and submit these papers
[00:01:57.340]to academic journals.
[00:02:00.060]Each off these papers have been presented at the conferences
[00:02:04.370]like the American Accounting Association Conference
[00:02:07.860]and submitted to academic journals
[00:02:10.960]such as the Journal of American Taxation Association.
[00:02:17.040]You will also attend our accounting seminars
[00:02:19.610]and workshops series and have the opportunity to network
[00:02:23.730]with some of the world's leading accounting scholars.

[00:02:28.760]At Nebraska, the PhD seminars introduced me
[00:02:31.730]to the fundamentals of social science research
[00:02:34.680]and exposed me to a variety of literature streams.
[00:02:37.820]In particular, the introductory PhD seminar
[00:02:40.750]helped me as I entered academia from private industry.
[00:02:44.270]By attending the PhD seminars,
[00:02:46.040]I was able to establish a foundation in tax,
[00:02:49.260]audit and managerial accounting research.
[00:02:53.730]Our graduates work at tier one research schools
[00:02:56.610]that also have PhD programs, such Oklahoma State University,
[00:03:00.910]University of Kansas and Washington State University.
[00:03:04.300]Our expectation is that you would have the opportunity
