[00:00:59.150]and I'll be taking you on a tour of campus today.
[00:01:03.080]This is Massengale, our Resident Center on East Campus.
[00:01:05.810]It has both traditional and apartment style living.
[00:01:08.430]You can live here
[00:01:09.290]from your freshman year to your senior year.
[00:01:11.770]This center has great lighting, study space
[00:01:14.040]and things like that.
[00:01:16.160]Welcome to our newly renovated East Campus Union.
[00:01:19.430]Within our union we have our dining hall
[00:01:21.630]down on the main floor for our East Campus
[00:01:24.190]and City Campus students to utilize.
[00:01:26.700]Students can also use this space to study
[00:01:29.010]and enjoy coffee at Starbucks.
[00:01:31.430]Up on the third floor,
[00:01:32.520]we have our career specialist Julie Obermeyer
[00:01:35.070]who can help you with any interview prep
[00:01:36.950]and resume assistance.
[00:01:38.800]Down on our main floor,
[00:01:39.700]we also have our university bowling alley
[00:01:41.810]that students can utilize at a discounted price.
[00:01:46.580]Behind me is a state of the art workout facility
[00:01:48.560]that we have here on East Campus.
[00:01:50.040]It's comprised of three floors.
[00:01:51.610]On the first floor, we have free weights and benches
[00:01:54.030]to be able to work out.
[00:01:55.210]We also have a golfing simulator to practice your swing.
[00:01:58.280]There's an Injury Prevention and Care Center.
[00:02:00.130]So if you get a sprained ankle
[00:02:01.720]or anything like that on campus,
[00:02:03.470]they can take a look at it
[00:02:04.700]and then offer medical professional health
[00:02:06.810]or send you to get the assistance that you need.
[00:02:09.470]There's also 24 locker rooms in this facility
[00:02:13.080]that are equipped with dry saunas,
[00:02:14.570]that you can use free of charge.
[00:02:16.680]And the second floor of the rec is two gyms
[00:02:19.803]that have goals or bats or soccer,
[00:02:23.830]anything like that recreational lines that you can use,
[00:02:26.220]pickup basketball games take place here a lot.
[00:02:29.200]Then there's cardio machines there for stair steppers,
[00:02:31.930]treadmills, et cetera, to be able to do cardio.
[00:02:34.620]And then on the third floor is a full track
[00:02:36.440]to be able to run around and continue to do that.

[00:02:57.040]It's the most sustainable building on East Campus,
[00:02:59.983]and it's connected to Plant Sciences Hall
[00:03:02.690]and together they connect
[00:03:04.490]and they hold all five majors in PGA of Golf Management.

[00:03:11.370]Now we are at Hardin Hall.
[00:03:12.830]Hardin Hall is home to the School of Natural Resources.
[00:03:15.910]A couple of the majors include
[00:03:17.510]environmental science and fisheries and wildlife.
[00:03:20.700]Inside Hardin Hall
[00:03:22.140]is one of the biggest lecture halls on campus.
[00:03:24.800]So you might have a class in there.

[00:03:28.160]to the Department of Statistics.

[00:03:31.380]Hi everybody the next stop on our tour is Ag Hall,
[00:03:33.750]Agricultural Hall here is home
[00:03:35.630]to the administration within CASNR.
[00:03:37.750]It houses our dean, Dr. Tiffany Heng-Moss.
[00:03:41.370]At the Ag Hall, you can also change your major or minor.
[00:03:44.520]This is where you do that from,
[00:03:45.990]it's a hope to CASNR CARES,
[00:03:47.590]which is headed by Megan Schaefer,
[00:03:49.380]whom we nicknamed the CASNR mom.
[00:03:51.700]So if you ever have anything happen while you're at college
[00:03:53.510]and you have to miss class, she's your go to,
[00:03:56.130]she can also get you connected
[00:03:57.258]with many resources we have here on campus.
[00:03:59.860]Lastly, it's home to the Institute of Agriculture
[00:04:02.220]and Natural Resources,
[00:04:03.440]which is the entire institute
[00:04:05.055]of which our college lies under.
[00:04:08.340]We're now in our Animal Science Complex,
[00:04:10.270]the home of our animal science major.
[00:04:12.330]The complex houses livestock
[00:04:13.810]used for research and classroom participation.
[00:04:16.495]The Animal Science Complex
[00:04:17.910]is also home of some of our organizations,
[00:04:20.470]including inspection team, livestock judging
[00:04:22.670]and our Meat Science Department.
[00:04:26.180]Hi, this is our Communications Building.
[00:04:28.380]It's the oldest building on East Campus.
[00:04:30.820]It was built in 1899 and it's home to agriculture
[00:04:35.610]and environmental sciences here in campus.
[00:04:40.027]Behind me is a building we call Chase Hall.
[00:04:42.460]Within Chase Hall it's the home to
[00:04:45.070]our Biological Systems and Engineering Department,
[00:04:47.630]which house two cluster majors
[00:04:49.080]which are mechanized systems management
[00:04:51.780]and agricultural engineering.
[00:04:53.510]Within this building is
[00:04:54.950]one of our larger classrooms here on East Campus
[00:04:57.160]which holds around 150 people.
[00:04:59.640]But usually class sizes here on East Campus
[00:05:01.630]are a lot smaller than that,
[00:05:02.940]roughly around 20 to 25 people in an average classroom,
[00:05:06.920]to not be able to be so big
[00:05:08.540]that you don't get to know everybody,
[00:05:09.710]but not so small that it's,
[00:05:11.560]you don't get to meet as many people as you would like to.
[00:05:16.140]Behind me is the last bus stop on East Campus.
[00:05:19.610]All three of our campuses at UNL
[00:05:21.660]are connected by a bus system.
[00:05:23.640]Students can ride these buses
[00:05:25.130]by downloading an app on their phone
[00:05:26.890]and can also track them.
[00:05:28.830]These buses take about 10 minutes
[00:05:31.450]to get from city to East Campus,
[00:05:33.910]and they place you within three minutes
[00:05:36.080]of any major building
[00:05:37.560]that you would have class or live in.
[00:05:39.020]So it makes it super convenient to get
[00:05:40.750]to class, to home, to wherever you need it.
