[00:00:01.740]the Recruitment Officer for Beta Alpha Psi.
[00:00:03.720]And today I wanted to go through
[00:00:04.780]our Fall 2020 Recruitment Orientation.
[00:00:07.870]First of all, I wanted to discuss why Beta Alpha Psi
[00:00:10.610]it gives you the opportunity to meet other
[00:00:12.690]accounting and finance majors and network
[00:00:14.930]with business professionals.
[00:00:16.620]You also get to attend weekly meetings
[00:00:18.240]on important topics hosted by industry leading firms
[00:00:22.380]Additionally, you get access to a large alumni network
[00:00:25.390]and give yourself an opportunity to distinguish yourself
[00:00:27.890]among other students.
[00:00:29.890]Here our current Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 officers,

[00:00:43.910]Here are the purposes of Beta Alpha Psi.
[00:00:46.160]We want to recognize outstanding academic achievements
[00:00:48.780]in the fields of accounting finance Information Systems,
[00:00:52.140]promote the study and practice of professional fields
[00:00:54.310]related to these disciplines.
[00:00:56.090]Provide opportunities for self development
[00:00:58.300]and association among members
[00:00:59.730]and practicing financial professionals
[00:01:01.810]and lastly encourage a sense of ethical, social and public
[00:01:06.970]Our organization was founded nationally in 1919,
[00:01:10.220]our individual chapters founded in 1976.
[00:01:13.480]And there are over 200 active chapters in the US.
[00:01:17.530]Our activities include weekly meetings
[00:01:19.380]which take place on when on Tuesday evenings
[00:01:22.090]our social events and community service events.
[00:01:24.600]Of course, these will all look different this semester,
[00:01:27.300]and will all be conducted online.
[00:01:30.800]The membership requirements include a 3.2 cumulative GPA
[00:01:34.360]in your major and overall.
[00:01:36.300]You must have been a member of the College of Business
[00:01:38.220]for at least one semester prior.
[00:01:40.590]You have to have taken or are currently enrolled
[00:01:42.640]in a 300 plus level accounting or finance course.
[00:01:47.130]And there is a one time $100 initiation fee.
[00:01:51.170]The point requirements for Fall 2020
[00:01:52.830]will look much different
[00:01:53.860]because we are not counting social
[00:01:57.300]or community service points.
[00:01:58.990]We will still have a professional meetings
[00:02:00.450]which include mandatory Tuesday night chapter meetings
[00:02:03.620]and mandatory attendance of Meet The Firm.
