[00:00:17.670]My best piece of advice to give to incoming freshmen is to make a plan from the

[00:00:26.010]A piece of advice would be to go on as many extracurricular trips as you can. Say,
[00:00:30.030]whether it's going to the Sheldon Museum on-campus or to the National Retail
[00:00:33.570]Federation Conference in New York City, this degree has so many opportunities.
[00:00:37.720]Just be sure to take advantage of as many as you can. Go Big Red!

[00:00:49.050]I would love to share some advice that I have for all incoming TMFD
[00:00:52.560]students.
[00:00:53.790]As you begin your new journey at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Show up for
[00:00:58.320]yourself, this means showing up on time,
[00:01:02.070]showing up to every class, showing up to the library to work on schoolwork,
[00:01:06.420]even when you're not feeling it.
[00:01:08.430]It's showing up to the events with organizations that are important to you and
[00:01:12.690]do not only show up, but also show out,
[00:01:16.380]put in the hard work now and reap the benefits later on.

[00:01:25.190]My advice to you would just be to make sure you're using all of the resources
[00:01:29.480]our department provides for us.
[00:01:31.010]So, whether that's just visiting the Quilt Museum or talking with your professors
[00:01:35.540]about what direction you want to take your future,
[00:01:38.150]they truly want to see everybody succeed.
[00:01:40.580]So, this makes sure you're using all of those resources and you'll do great.

[00:01:50.000]The advice I have is have fun. Get to know your professors. They're amazing.
[00:01:54.320]They'll help you, um, find internships down the road.
[00:01:57.860]And also you can go on study tours with them, which is a great experience.
