- [00:00:09.910]Hi, Goldenrod families.
- [00:00:12.270]This is Teacher Alyssa,
- [00:00:13.650]and I'm here to show you guys a recipe
- [00:00:15.840]that you guys can cook at home with your kids.
- [00:00:18.346]I thought it would be pretty fun to share.
- [00:00:21.030]So your ingredients that you're gonna need
- [00:00:23.610]are some good old oats,
- [00:00:29.670]four bananas that are peeled,
- [00:00:33.560]some vanilla extract,
- [00:00:36.740]and then you're gonna need what is called mix-in,
- [00:00:39.240]so you can use chocolate chips, blueberries,
- [00:00:43.540]we have some Craisins, or some cinnamon.
- [00:00:47.880]So we're gonna be making some banana oat muffins.
- [00:00:51.270]So the first thing that you're gonna wanna do is,
- [00:00:53.810]first of all, wash your hands,
- [00:00:55.240]and kids wash your hands too,
- [00:00:57.310]preheat your oven to 350 degrees,
- [00:01:01.080]and then we're gonna spray our muffin tin here.
- [00:01:04.750]So what you're gonna do is just spray each little cup.
- [00:01:10.441](spray hisses)
- [00:01:19.510]Okay, so once that's done you'll just set that to the side,
- [00:01:22.320]'cause you won't need it for awhile.
- [00:01:24.280]And what I'm gonna do first is
- [00:01:25.830]I'm gonna to mash up my bananas
- [00:01:27.710]because I want them to be nice and soft.
- [00:01:30.400]So I'm gonna use this masher,
- [00:01:31.940]but you can also just use a fork if that's easier,
- [00:01:36.330]and kids, this is something you guys can do.
- [00:01:39.380]You guys can do this part.
- [00:01:40.710]It's kind of hard at first, but once you get it going,
- [00:01:43.470]they get down to a good consistency.
- [00:01:47.115](bowl rattles)
- [00:02:04.800]Okay, so once you get all of the big pieces
- [00:02:08.270]sort of meshed up and it looks pretty good,
- [00:02:10.510]it's almost like a, sort of a baby food-looking consistency,
- [00:02:18.330]like sorta like that,
- [00:02:22.596]just gonna pour that into our big bowl here.
- [00:02:24.350]So you're gonna wanna another big bowl.
- [00:02:26.410]So a little bit bigger than this one,
- [00:02:27.910]so put everything into,
- [00:02:33.340]I'm gonna pour that in.
- [00:02:39.010]And then what you're gonna do is measure your oats.
- [00:02:42.480]So you're gonna need one cup, measuring cup,
- [00:02:47.590]and you're gonna measure three cups of oats.
- [00:02:53.020]Okay?
- [00:02:54.280]So as you do this count with me, ready?
- [00:02:59.590]We have one,
- [00:03:05.630]two,
- [00:03:10.490]three cups,
- [00:03:12.340]and then you're done with your oats
- [00:03:13.500]so you can put those to the side.
- [00:03:16.610]And then next, what I like to do is
- [00:03:17.780]just mix it all together to really get those oats
- [00:03:20.180]and that banana mixed up,
- [00:03:21.440]because one is pretty dry and one is pretty wet,
- [00:03:24.610]so we wanna really make sure they get all mixed together
- [00:03:28.850]to make our muffins.
- [00:03:46.259]Okay, once you've got 'em sort of mixed up enough for now,
- [00:03:48.950]you're gonna add in your vanilla extract.
- [00:03:50.620]So you just need one teaspoon of this.
- [00:03:52.380]So when a little itty bitty teaspoon,
- [00:03:55.530]just to give it some more flavor.
- [00:03:58.640]Fill that up and that, pour that in.
- [00:04:03.727]And then we're gonna mix the rest of it all together.
- [00:04:19.123](oven beeps)
- [00:04:20.520]Oh, that means my oven is preheated,
- [00:04:22.320]so you're gonna be ready to rock and roll pretty soon
- [00:04:26.740]and put those in the oven.
- [00:04:29.140]Okay, so once you get a pretty good consistency,
- [00:04:31.840]it's like all mixed together enough,
- [00:04:34.140]it's not too sticky, but it's not too dry,
- [00:04:37.720]you're gonna pull on over that muffin tin
- [00:04:41.790]that you just sprayed,
- [00:04:44.140]and since these don't have any flour or anything in them,
- [00:04:47.170]they don't need to rise,
- [00:04:48.340]so what you're gonna do is you're gonna pour
- [00:04:54.420]a little bit in each one to fill it up.
- [00:05:00.590]So I'm just gonna fill all of those up.
- [00:05:18.054]And they don't need to be perfect because as they bake
- [00:05:20.250]they'll kind of even out anyways.
- [00:05:22.940]So you don't have to worry about if,
- [00:05:24.940]as your kids are helping you do this,
- [00:05:26.580]if they get super messy that's okay.
- [00:05:29.060]Nice thing about this recipe
- [00:05:30.280]is that it doesn't have a lot of ingredients,
- [00:05:33.280]so your kids can help you kind of pour this stuff in
- [00:05:37.640]and it's a really fun experience.
- [00:05:50.455]And I might not have quite enough to fill up all of this
- [00:05:52.560]and that's okay.
- [00:06:00.180]Looks like I have enough to fill about one or two more.
- [00:06:22.950]All right, so I filled up about 10
- [00:06:27.440]of my little cupcake tins.
- [00:06:33.200]So now that you've got yours filled,
- [00:06:36.640]what you're gonna do is add in your mix in.
- [00:06:38.340]So another thing that you can do with the mix in
- [00:06:40.580]is you can fill this about halfway through
- [00:06:42.510]and then put them in.
- [00:06:43.960]But what I'm gonna do is just put them in the top.
- [00:06:45.710]So I'm gonna do a mixture of,
- [00:06:48.940]some of them I'm gonna do blueberries.
- [00:06:52.990]So I'm gonna just kind of squish them on top.
- [00:06:57.150]So see how those are looking pretty full?
- [00:06:59.160]And then I'm just gonna put the toppings on top.
- [00:07:01.040]So I'm gonna do a mix of blueberries,
- [00:07:04.440]'cause in my house we like a mix of different things.
- [00:07:06.620]So we got some blueberries, we got some chocolate chips,
- [00:07:13.600]and Craisins, and even cinnamon.
- [00:07:15.930]So I'm gonna have to give these a taste
- [00:07:18.640]when they come out of the oven.
- [00:07:33.471]You can even mix the chocolate chips
- [00:07:34.653]and the blueberries if you want.
- [00:07:36.851]You have to kind of see what you guys like to do
- [00:07:38.130]at your house.
- [00:07:40.420]And I'm gonna try some cinnamon on top.
- [00:07:42.060]So just a little sprinkle.
- [00:07:49.072]All right.
- [00:08:01.950]Now, once you've got your toppings on,
- [00:08:04.980]they'll look little like this,
- [00:08:06.240]maybe a little bit different, pretty close,
- [00:08:09.230]and you're just gonna pop it in the oven
- [00:08:10.770]for about 15 to 18 minutes.
- [00:08:13.120]So that's what I'm gonna do.
- [00:08:26.970]And when they come out we'll have to just see
- [00:08:28.630]what they look like.
- [00:08:30.380]So these are gonna be really good for like a breakfast
- [00:08:32.940]or like a good little snack in the middle of the day.
- [00:08:36.730]I really like them a lot.
- [00:08:37.990]And I hope you guys like them a lot.
- [00:08:40.210]You guys'll have to let me know
- [00:08:41.370]if you guys cook these at home, send me pictures or videos,
- [00:08:45.090]it would be so cool.
- [00:08:46.361]I wanna do some more cooking videos with you guys
- [00:08:48.940]'cause I think this is a really cool time
- [00:08:50.650]for all of you kiddos to cook with your parents.
- [00:08:54.390]And I love cooking.
- [00:08:55.960]It's what's been keeping me busy a lot lately.
- [00:08:58.770]So yeah, I'll post a picture when they're done
- [00:09:02.370]and I hope you guys liked this.
- [00:09:04.100]Thanks.
- [00:09:05.749](upbeat music)
