- [00:00:27.380]Hi friends and family!
- [00:00:29.040]I wanna show you a fun activity to
- [00:00:31.570]incorporate math skills in your snack-time.
- [00:00:35.150]It just takes a little bit of
- [00:00:37.030]preparation of materials.
- [00:00:39.570]The first thing that you wanna get
- [00:00:41.040]ready are some paper towels,
- [00:00:43.840]or a piece of paper would also work for this.
- [00:00:46.670]And you're gonna draw out just
- [00:00:48.230]some simple math concepts on
- [00:00:51.960]the paper towel.
- [00:00:53.890]The first one that you can do is a ten frame.
- [00:00:56.800]So this is a frame of ten boxes that help
- [00:01:00.630]children easily visually see a group of ten.
- [00:01:07.370]Another one could be a group of four.
- [00:01:10.610]So just separating you paper towel into
- [00:01:15.180]a set of four.
- [00:01:18.460]Another math skill is
- [00:01:20.920]understanding positional words and
- [00:01:23.650]so top and bottom could be one that
- [00:01:26.980]you might have ready.
- [00:01:30.950]And another math big idea is
- [00:01:33.710]more or less.
- [00:01:37.550]And finally,
- [00:01:41.330]for those children that are able to do an
- [00:01:44.730]equation you could create a paper towel
- [00:01:48.119]that sets up an equation which has
- [00:01:51.800]one box plus another box and what
- [00:01:55.230]does that equal.
- [00:01:58.360]So the idea is that you would
- [00:01:59.680]have these ready out
- [00:02:01.030]on the table with
- [00:02:04.100]a desired snack.

- [00:02:18.530]placing items in
- [00:02:23.720]the paper towel mat.
- [00:02:26.850]So look, Dexter,
