- [00:00:10.520]I'm Teresa, and I oversee course enrollment
- [00:00:12.960]for new student enrollment.
- [00:00:14.760]In this video, I'm going to describe the steps
- [00:00:17.170]for adding a course to your schedule.
- [00:00:19.520]The first and most important thing to keep in mind
- [00:00:22.090]is to communicate with your academic advisor
- [00:00:24.260]before adding a course.
- [00:00:26.470]You don't want to take a course
- [00:00:27.680]that won't count or that you don't need,
- [00:00:29.770]so it's important to confirm
- [00:00:31.100]that you should add the course before doing so.
- [00:00:35.630]Step one is to log into Myred and click the enrollment tab,
- [00:00:41.730]then click build schedule and enroll,
- [00:00:46.160]then choose the applicable term, and then select campuses.
- [00:00:51.430]If you do not have approval to take the course
- [00:00:53.450]that you're adding as an online course,
- [00:00:55.669]deselect distance delivery,
- [00:00:57.870]that way the system won't display
- [00:00:59.780]any online courses for you.
- [00:01:02.060]Don't worry about these other campuses
- [00:01:03.890]unless you already know which campus
- [00:01:05.790]you'll be taking the course on.
- [00:01:09.680]Click add course and click on the subject bar.
- [00:01:16.160]Type in the subject code, such as THEA for theater,
- [00:01:21.979]then select the course number.
- [00:01:24.412](light music)
- [00:01:34.467]You'll see the course that you just added here
- [00:01:37.070]in this courses section.
- [00:01:38.960]You'll also see the courses you're currently enrolled in.
- [00:01:41.930]The enrollment scheduler will take the course you added,
- [00:01:44.790]combine it with your existing schedule,
- [00:01:46.970]and try to create a schedule
- [00:01:48.450]that has both your current courses
- [00:01:50.290]and the one you're adding.
- [00:01:51.733](light music)
- [00:02:00.640]If you do have options,
- [00:02:01.940]click view to review the potential schedules.
- [00:02:04.780]If you like it, great!
- [00:02:06.230]That's easy, click send to shopping cart.
- [00:02:09.200]If you have other options that you'd like to review
- [00:02:11.890]click the right arrow on your keyboard
- [00:02:13.760]or the next button at the top of your screen
- [00:02:15.920]to move through other schedule options.
- [00:02:18.280]Once you find one you like, send it to the shopping cart.
- [00:02:22.300]If your advisor has provided you
- [00:02:23.840]with a permission code for the course you're adding
- [00:02:26.220]type in the code in the permission code box.
- [00:02:28.910]If you don't have a code, which will be most of you,
- [00:02:31.400]leave that box blank,
- [00:02:33.020]then proceed through these next few screens.
- [00:02:38.280]Hopefully you see a green check mark and a success message.
- [00:02:41.970]If you don't, it could be for a variety of reasons
- [00:02:45.130]and it's best that you check back with your academic advisor
- [00:02:48.100]or email us with questions.
