Essential face masks needed by Nebraska hospitals are being produced at Nebraska Innovation Studio. Here’s a look at how the masks are coming together.

[00:00:06.520]for area hospitals.
[00:00:08.040]We're working with a couple of different ones in the area
[00:00:11.100]in order to manufacture units
[00:00:12.830]that will protect people on the front line,
[00:00:14.881]just give them another line of main defense.
[00:00:18.220]Currently we are at 3-D printing these two pieces.
[00:00:21.940]And then we do ship it with a clear plastic cover.
[00:00:25.530]We worked with a team here here, Virtual Incision,
[00:00:28.100]in order to get this design.
[00:00:29.960]We're working with a ton of people,
[00:00:31.760]local businesses and university people,
[00:00:34.030]in order to get these manufactured.
[00:00:36.520]Currently, we have a lot of people from the community
[00:00:39.380]3-D printing these,
[00:00:40.420]until we can get our full scale manufacturing process set up
[00:00:43.520]for injection molding.
[00:00:46.680]This is, I'll say,
[00:00:48.250]probably the most important work I've done in my life.
[00:00:50.890]So far, everything else has been kind of
[00:00:52.850]a little bit more for leisure and for fun.
[00:00:54.930]And so this has been very rewarding from a personal level.
[00:00:58.690]Nebraska Innovation Studios is a great place
[00:01:00.570]to do things like this,
[00:01:01.710]because we already have the resources,
[00:01:03.500]not only the machines, the equipment, the processes,
[00:01:06.580]but we have the people.
