Ten frames are tools used to support children’s learning and understanding of number sense. This tool uses a two-by-five rectangular frame that helps demonstrate numbers that are less than or equal to ten. [00:00:12.230]Today I'm going to introduce to you a ten-frame
[00:00:15.930]and how to use it to help build number sense.
[00:00:20.780]So here's what a ten-frame looks like,
[00:00:22.680]and it's a two by five rectangular frame
[00:00:26.030]where you'll put counters into each square,
[00:00:29.550]so one per square.
[00:00:31.280]And this will help you demonstrate
[00:00:35.010]and identify what numbers are less than or equal to 10.
[00:00:38.900]The counters then can be arranged in different ways
[00:00:42.450]and they represent different numbers.
[00:00:44.390]This also visually helps your child

[00:00:51.110]Here are the materials that you will need.
[00:00:53.400]You'll need a ten-frame, and this can be made
[00:00:56.130]either with a piece of paper and a marker,
