[00:00:10.090]There are two main websites
[00:00:11.830]that you need to be aware of as you are starting
[00:00:14.710]your Chemigation online training process.
[00:00:17.910]If you are a re-certifier, it is important that you know
[00:00:21.380]what your applicator certification number is.
[00:00:24.920]You will need this at the completion of your training
[00:00:27.612]to take your final exam.
[00:00:31.060]Now to find your applicator certification number,
[00:00:33.700]you can find it on the yellow card
[00:00:35.310]that was sent to you four years ago
[00:00:37.500]from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
[00:00:40.500]If you do not know where that card is at,
[00:00:42.870]we have a quick route that you can find it.
[00:00:45.740]And that is gonna be looking
[00:00:46.670]at our first website that is listed on the screen.
[00:00:50.130]And that is go.unl.edu/chemigation-applicator-search,
[00:00:57.260]and I will take you there right now.
[00:01:00.330]This website is gonna take you directly
[00:01:02.397]to the Department of Environment and Energy's
[00:01:05.300]Chemigation Applicator Search Engine.
[00:01:08.050]Just so you know, Nebraska Department
[00:01:10.190]of Environmental Quality has been renamed
[00:01:12.190]to the Department of Environment and Energy.
[00:01:15.120]If you're looking to see what your applicator number is,
[00:01:18.800]the first step we need to do is under the area
[00:01:21.550]that says Certification Status,
[00:01:23.740]we need to click that arrow
[00:01:25.450]and please select Active and Inactive.
[00:01:28.600]If you are re-certifying,
[00:01:30.200]you're Chemigation Application Certificate
[00:01:32.740]is currently not valid
[00:01:34.770]because it expired January 1st of the year.
[00:01:38.090]So click Active/Inactive.
[00:01:40.550]You are welcome to fill in as much information as you want,
[00:01:43.980]or you can go right to your applicator name
[00:01:46.020]and type in your name.
[00:01:46.853]So today we're gonna type in my name, Amy Timmerman,
[00:01:51.050]and hit Search.
[00:01:53.700]As you can see, it pulls up my information,
[00:01:56.660]that 48871 that is located
[00:01:59.270]on the left hand side of that search result.
[00:02:01.670]That is my Chemigation certification number.
[00:02:05.660]This is the number you will need
[00:02:07.260]as you complete your training.
[00:02:09.100]If you are uncertain if you need
[00:02:11.030]to complete your training for 2020,
[00:02:13.870]you can go to the right hand side
[00:02:15.420]and look at the expiration date.
[00:02:16.800]As you can see, my license, or applicator certificate
[00:02:20.490]does not expire until January 1st of 2022.
[00:02:24.890]Once you have that, then we're actually
[00:02:26.600]gonna look at the training,
[00:02:27.830]and we're gonna go back to that PowerPoint slide now.
[00:02:30.730]The training component, this is where any of you will start
[00:02:33.600]whether you are initial or re-certifying
[00:02:35.946]for your Chemigation Applicator Certification.
[00:02:39.350]You're gonna go to go.unl.edu/chemigation-training.
[00:02:47.010]We're gonna click that.
[00:02:52.520]And it's gonna take you to the Chemigation homepage
[00:02:55.190]which is located on water.unl.edu.
[00:02:58.340]Now to find the training,
[00:02:59.820]you're gonna scroll down your window.
[00:03:05.160]Keep scrolling, it is located about halfway down the screen.
[00:03:09.580]You can see here now we are on Online Certification.
[00:03:13.670]It gives you the steps that you can go through.
[00:03:16.730]If you are an individual that would like
[00:03:18.190]to read your steps step by step,

[00:03:23.170]Course Directions Part 1 and Part 2,
[00:03:25.030]and that will give you a PDF of how to do the training.
[00:03:29.980]For us, we're gonna go right down here
[00:03:31.640]to Proceed to Nebraska Chemigation Training.
[00:03:33.650]You're gonna click that,
[00:03:35.670]which is gonna redirect us to the eXtension website.
[00:03:40.410]So for the majority of you this is gonna be the first time
[00:03:42.990]that you have ever been on eXtension's website,
[00:03:45.500]and you're gonna need to register
[00:03:46.890]so you can access the training online.
[00:03:49.870]So we are going to venture up to the upper right hand corner
[00:03:52.690]where it says Log In, which is this orange yellowish button.
[00:03:56.500]Click Log In.
[00:03:58.160]As for me, as you can see, I've been on it before,
[00:04:00.810]so it automatically knows my information,
[00:04:03.640]but for you that are first time users of the website,
[00:04:06.790]we're gonna scroll down.
[00:04:08.925]You're gonna come to here where it says
[00:04:09.920]this is your first time here.
[00:04:11.620]You can click on Create a New Account,
[00:04:13.770]or click on Account Creation Form,
[00:04:15.560]and that's what I'm gonna click on right now.
[00:04:17.870]When you click Account Creation form,
[00:04:20.740]it is gonna send you to this website, or this page.
[00:04:24.200]It's gonna ask you to put in your Username.
[00:04:26.700]You can decide whatever username you want to use.
[00:04:29.550]Your password, your email, confirm your email,
[00:04:32.710]and then you're gonna go through
[00:04:33.780]and add all your contact detail information that we need.
[00:04:36.880]Your name, your address, your city,
[00:04:39.040]your state and your zip code.
[00:04:41.530]The one piece of information
[00:04:43.410]is are you an extension employee?
[00:04:45.510]The majority of you are gonna click No,
[00:04:47.680]and because of that, if you're not an employee
[00:04:49.775]of the university of extension,
[00:04:53.990]you're gonna then click on the institution email domain,
[00:04:57.050]and you're gonna click N/A because it does not apply to you.
[00:05:01.250]So once we have done this, you're gonna be able to log in,
[00:05:04.560]and I'm gonna go back so you can see my log in.
[00:05:08.270]You're gonna put in your username, your password,
[00:05:10.340]and I'm gonna go ahead and log us into the system.
[00:05:15.370]As we get logged in the system.
[00:05:16.810]It's gonna take us to that main homepage again.
[00:05:20.810]You're gonna go to search courses,
[00:05:22.760]and type in Nebraska Chemigation and hit Go.
[00:05:27.570]There should be only one class that pops up,
[00:05:30.330]which is the Nebraska Chemigation Training.
[00:05:32.210]You're going to click on that,
[00:05:35.240]and then it's gonna give you a window
[00:05:37.000]that tells you if you want to go into that course,
[00:05:41.210]and you're gonna select Yes.
[00:05:44.440]Once we have selected Yes,
[00:05:46.290]you can see we're into the course.
[00:05:48.330]The next step you're gonna do is right here
[00:05:50.140]where it says License Status Selection.
[00:05:52.530]We're gonna select this blue area,
[00:05:56.040]and this is where it's gonna ask you
[00:05:57.620]are you re-certifying or are you a first time applicator?
[00:06:02.550]This is very important.
[00:06:04.200]So if you're re-certifying, you're gonna come over here.
[00:06:06.840]You're gonna say Add Group.
[00:06:08.160]As you can see I'm already a member of this group.
[00:06:11.130]So it tells me Leave Group.
[00:06:12.580]You're gonna had Add Group,
[00:06:14.330]or if you're a first time applicator
[00:06:16.010]you're gonna come down here and Add to Group.
[00:06:18.810]Once you've selected the group
[00:06:20.170]that you're gonna be a part of,
[00:06:21.470]we go right into the training modules.
[00:06:24.610]So, as you can see, it tells me
[00:06:26.960]I can go into my next activity,
[00:06:28.570]which is Chapter 1 Introduction,
[00:06:30.676]and this will take you into the first module
[00:06:33.195]for the Chemigation online training.
[00:06:36.440]The training is done by video.
[00:06:39.120]So you're gonna click the window here, the Play button,
[00:06:41.530]and watch the video.
[00:06:42.980]At the completion of each module video,
[00:06:46.150]there will be a survey questionnaire
[00:06:49.220]that you need to complete.
[00:06:51.210]In that mini quiz, you do need to pass the quiz
[00:06:54.050]to be able to move on to the next module.
[00:06:56.500]The other big thing I wanna make everybody aware of,
[00:06:59.470]is there is a number or letter
[00:07:03.350]that occurs somewhere in the video.
[00:07:05.900]Please play close attention to this
[00:07:08.100]because you will need to have that
[00:07:10.210]to be able to complete the quiz
[00:07:12.000]and move on to the next modules.
[00:07:14.420]As you complete each module,
[00:07:16.610]you can continue moving through the process.
[00:07:19.320]At the completion of the modules,
[00:07:20.850]if you are re-certifying, at that point and time
[00:07:24.720]you can select Take Test, and you will then proceed
[00:07:28.610]to take your 50 question test.
[00:07:31.510]If you are initial applicator, you will get a screen
[00:07:34.840]that says please print this screen.
[00:07:37.600]It is a verification that you have completed
[00:07:39.700]all the online modules.
[00:07:41.410]You will need to bring that in with you
[00:07:44.150]when you schedule your testing time.
[00:07:47.270]So for any of those who are initial,
[00:07:49.310]you are gonna need to call either the Hall county,
[00:07:52.000]Brown, Rock, Keya Paha
[00:07:53.280]or Cherry County Extension Offices
[00:07:56.360]and schedule a time to come in,
[00:07:57.720]and take that initial training.
[00:08:01.196]I will back up, that initial test.
[00:08:04.740]At the completion of taking that test
[00:08:06.740]or on the online version, your test will be graded,
[00:08:10.480]and then once you have passed your test,
[00:08:13.380]your information will be then sent
[00:08:15.280]to the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy
[00:08:18.050]where they will then issue
[00:08:19.500]your Chemigation Applicator Certification.
[00:08:27.090]The big thing is as you're going through the process,
