- [00:00:02.470]Hey everybody
- [00:00:03.303]this is Sydney Zach over in procurement.
- [00:00:05.350]We're getting everything ready to roll here.
- [00:00:07.690]And I think we'll get started here in about four minutes.
- [00:00:11.829]Can somebody in the chat let me know that you can
- [00:00:14.780]hear us okay?
- [00:00:22.840]Yes, all right perfect.
- [00:00:24.610]Thank you very much.
- [00:00:25.820]We will be with you in just a couple minutes.
- [00:03:54.240]All right everybody this is Sydney again
- [00:03:56.730]and we're gonna go ahead and get started
- [00:03:58.310]with our PED talk for the day.
- [00:03:59.710]So we're gonna discuss out new last press contract,
- [00:04:03.790]our Big Ten last press contract overview.
- [00:04:06.041]This will just give us some background
- [00:04:08.330]about our Big Ten academic alliance and some
- [00:04:10.500]highlights of the contract.
- [00:04:12.770]And I'm gonna turn it over to Maggie Witt,
- [00:04:14.650]our director of procurement services
- [00:04:17.199]to say a few words before we get started.
- [00:04:18.470]Thanks Sydney I appreciate it.
- [00:04:20.080]Welcome everyone and we're glad you can join us
- [00:04:23.360]this very chilly day in Nebraska I might add.
- [00:04:27.164]I landed yesterday.
- [00:04:29.630]I came back from my
- [00:04:30.520]National Association of Educational Procurement Conference
- [00:04:33.910]in Phoenix, of all places,
- [00:04:35.540]and they were complaining that it was 69 degrees outside.
- [00:04:38.830]They thought it was too cold.
- [00:04:42.050]And I said, you're welcome to come to Nebraska.
- [00:04:44.480]We'll tell you what cold's all about.
- [00:04:46.500]And with us here today is also Mary Mitilier
- [00:04:50.220]and the lovely Emily Batey who can tell us
- [00:04:52.980]what cold is really like 'cause Emily is from North Dakota.
- [00:04:56.170]So anyway, sorry for the pause.
- [00:04:59.780]Just thank you for everyone for joining us today.
- [00:05:02.740]We're grateful that you continue to see this
- [00:05:06.550]as an opportunity for learning more about
- [00:05:08.610]what's going on in procurement.
- [00:05:10.120]We are really excited to talk to you
- [00:05:11.840]about this today, aren't we Sydney?
- [00:05:13.340]Yes we are.
- [00:05:14.200]And the Big Ten for those of you who
- [00:05:17.148]are familiar with it or not familiar with it
- [00:05:19.160]Sydney's gonna give you a little more information
- [00:05:21.290]about who procurement interacts in the Big Ten.
- [00:05:24.803]We have some pretty strong mission that the
- [00:05:28.890]big picture stuff to know about what happens
- [00:05:31.510]with our alliance and our affiliation in the Big Ten.
- [00:05:34.910]And that's actually literally referred to as
- [00:05:38.090]the Big Ten Academic Alliance.
- [00:05:39.870]We have the benefit of collaborating
- [00:05:43.732]with investing and cooperating with
- [00:05:47.710]the other schools in the Big Ten.
- [00:05:49.650]And the benefit through our affiliation
- [00:05:52.240]through the UNL campus, or the UNL flagship campus,
- [00:05:56.650]if you will, is that we're able to share the wealth
- [00:06:00.884]with the entire University of Nebraska.
- [00:06:02.206]So the advantage and opportunity that we have
- [00:06:04.584]is something that Sydney's been working on
- [00:06:08.097]actually for about over a year if I'm not mistaken.
- [00:06:12.200]Sydney, you probably have the dates carved into your wrists.
- [00:06:14.622]But I will say that it took a little bit longer
- [00:06:18.480]to get started because many of us,
- [00:06:20.572]many of the procurement leaders in the
- [00:06:22.740]Big Ten Academic Alliance have felt strongly
- [00:06:26.300]that lab and research supplies was an opportunity
- [00:06:29.040]for us all.
- [00:06:30.006]And the numbers proved it.
- [00:06:33.620]And we're very proud to be one of the launching camp schools
- [00:06:37.814]with this agreement.
- [00:06:39.600]We believe that there's power and strength in numbers.
- [00:06:42.785]There is the ability for us to influence the marketplace
- [00:06:47.201]with all the schools that participate.
- [00:06:51.090]and so I think without further ado Sydney I,
- [00:06:54.198]by the way, Sydney will add this is not the last
- [00:06:57.505]time we'll be talking about this.
- [00:07:00.553]We just wanna introduce what's new to everyone
- [00:07:04.310]out there and we're in transition right now
- [00:07:07.148]to these agreements.
- [00:07:08.510]So this is the first time we're speaking about it,
- [00:07:11.450]but definitely there will be other communications,
- [00:07:15.020]other conversations, other trainings and presentations.
- [00:07:17.834]So we look forward to chatting with you
- [00:07:21.290]and getting your feedback throughout the coming months.
- [00:07:24.660]Thank you Sydney.
- [00:07:25.740]I'll let you have the floor.
- [00:07:27.230]All right, well let's do this.
- [00:07:29.417]As Maggie said, whoop let me find my forward arrow button.
- [00:07:35.900]As Maggie said this is kind of the year plus work
- [00:07:38.294]in progress up until this point.
- [00:07:41.560]And we're excited to enter into this new agreement
- [00:07:44.737]as of January 1 of this year.
- [00:07:47.548]It really is gonna change the, hopefully change the
- [00:07:50.570]layout in the marketplace of the lab supplies category
- [00:07:53.120]giving our end users in research in the
- [00:07:55.210]University of Nebraska system a lot greater
- [00:07:57.089]opportunity for quality and quantity of products.
- [00:08:00.560]So really excited to talk about the offerings
- [00:08:03.930]of this contract.
- [00:08:05.110]So through this talk we're gonna give a little bit
- [00:08:07.750]of background about what he Big Ten Academic Alliance
- [00:08:10.830]is and kind of the mission of that group.
- [00:08:14.230]I'll give a little bit of background of the suppliers
- [00:08:16.600]that are on this contract and some offerings
- [00:08:18.860]that they provide to our end users.
- [00:08:20.854]Two will be familiar faces.
- [00:08:23.390]Two are newcomers to the university and we're excited
- [00:08:26.510]to partner with them moving forward.
- [00:08:28.364]I'll give some top level
- [00:08:30.190]contract highlights about some benefits specifically
- [00:08:33.313]that will affect our end users.
- [00:08:35.430]And then Mary at the end will talk about
- [00:08:37.240]some upcoming eSHOP changes that will help facilitate
- [00:08:39.901]ease of purchasing, ease of buying
- [00:08:42.790]for end users in the lab supplies as well.
- [00:08:48.170]So the Big Ten Academic Alliance provides a lot of
- [00:08:52.010]collaboration across multiple categories for the
- [00:08:54.083]member institutions.
- [00:08:55.470]And you can see the member institutions
- [00:08:57.120]on your left hand side.
- [00:08:58.840]All the members of the Big Ten plus the
- [00:09:00.770]University of Chicago also has joined in.
- [00:09:03.350]They were a member a long time ago.
- [00:09:05.220]They left and came back and we said sure.
- [00:09:07.490]Let's party.
- [00:09:08.806]So it provides a lot of collaboration
- [00:09:11.850]across multiple categories for the institutions.
- [00:09:13.960]So research is a very big avenue for collaboration,
- [00:09:18.530]not just in the purchasing field,
- [00:09:20.090]but collaboration among the specific research fields.
- [00:09:24.249]Also technology, IT, software, libraries also
- [00:09:28.940]has a lot of leverage
- [00:09:30.010]in the game across the Big Ten as well.
- [00:09:32.446]Purchasing, as we've talked about,
- [00:09:34.480]and then some leadership development opportunities
- [00:09:36.948]are big within the Academic Alliance as well.
- [00:09:41.210]So the Big Ten Academic Alliance was established
- [00:09:44.286]in 1958 as an academic counterpart to the athletics.
- [00:09:48.750]We all know that athletics is the prominent feature
- [00:09:52.570]of the Big Ten, but academics plays a huge
- [00:09:55.040]role for the universities as well,
- [00:09:58.070]especially in the research field.
- [00:10:00.050]So as we know the University of Nebraska Lincoln
- [00:10:02.900]joined the Big Ten in 2011.
- [00:10:05.403]And amongst the Big Ten universities that are part
- [00:10:10.040]of this they conduct 10.8 billion dollars
- [00:10:13.810]in funded research across all those universities,
- [00:10:16.760]which is actually more than the
- [00:10:18.310]University of California system and Ivy League combined.
- [00:10:21.811]So, a lot of opportunity for dollars in terms of
- [00:10:26.060]lab supplies, equipment, purchasing through the Big Ten,
- [00:10:29.950]which is very exciting for us.
- [00:10:32.130]So specifically through the purchasing lens
- [00:10:35.102]we have a lot of leverage across this campus resources.
- [00:10:38.220]So that 10.8 billion dollars in research
- [00:10:40.910]is hanging out there for us to really see if we can tailor
- [00:10:45.090]some great opportunities for these schools.
- [00:10:48.640]Five years aggregated savings of estimated 100 million
- [00:10:52.140]dollars plus through combined purchasing powers
- [00:10:55.070]of these universities.
- [00:10:56.010]That's a lot of savings.
- [00:10:57.770]That's big money right there.
- [00:10:59.148]And then at 81.1 million
- [00:11:02.070]on specific consortial contracts spend.
- [00:11:05.649]I'll add that that's about,
- [00:11:07.320]right now currently we have about
- [00:11:08.640]23 or 24 active agreements.
- [00:11:11.450]And that fluctuates depending on what's being looked at,
- [00:11:14.607]just a little footnote here for everyone on the,
- [00:11:16.740]and the listening at homes audience.
- [00:11:21.740]But if you have ideas or thoughts or suggestions
- [00:11:25.530]I would encourage you to let your buyer or let me know.
- [00:11:29.820]Let Sydney know for opportunities.
- [00:11:32.956]If you don't know that we have one or if you want to
- [00:11:36.080]know what agreements we do have in the Big Ten
- [00:11:39.548]that information can be made available very quickly.
- [00:11:43.327]But again we're here to talk about the newest ones today.
- [00:11:45.498]Yes, and so let's deep dive
- [00:11:49.390]into the contract here.
- [00:11:51.920]So the new BTA lab supplies agreement was
- [00:11:55.060]awarded through a competitive bid process,
- [00:11:58.440]similar to how we bid here
- [00:12:00.440]at the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus.
- [00:12:03.575]We, under review of the RFP proposals we decided
- [00:12:08.790]to do a multi award to allow for a lot of
- [00:12:12.010]quality and quantity of opportunity for purchasing.
- [00:12:14.610]So essentially for the University of Nebraska Lincoln
- [00:12:17.240]we would create a nice healthy competition of sourcing,
- [00:12:20.310]and not just let them, well University of Nebraska system,
- [00:12:23.908]excuse me, to create a lot of the competition
- [00:12:28.340]for sourcing of these products,
- [00:12:29.760]and to create a mini marketplace for the lab
- [00:12:33.010]supplies to expand opportunities.
- [00:12:34.892]So the multi award for this contract you'll
- [00:12:39.975]notice Fisher, VWR who we currently utilize
- [00:12:44.930]fairly heavily on the University of Nebraska
- [00:12:47.560]system, but we also awarded Dot Scientific
- [00:12:50.340]and Neta Scientific as well who are newcomers
- [00:12:54.910]to our campuses.
- [00:12:56.084]But like I said earlier we're very excited to see how they
- [00:12:59.950]can fit in and meet needs
- [00:13:01.610]for the University of Nebraska system.
- [00:13:05.919]So, currently all four of these suppliers are enabled
- [00:13:14.430]in our e-procurement platform eSHOP.
- [00:13:17.950]A lot of our Fisher and DWR business
- [00:13:19.820]currently goes through there.
- [00:13:20.900]And now with Dot and Neta on board we'll be
- [00:13:23.600]able to utilize those suppliers in the same
- [00:13:26.280]capacity that we currently use for Fisher and VWR.
- [00:13:30.220]They're both level two punchouts,
- [00:13:32.840]which means if you search for a product in the main
- [00:13:37.010]search bar in the eSHOP homepage
- [00:13:38.966]their results or their products are
- [00:13:42.145]gonna come up in the search results.
- [00:13:43.500]So you're gonna be able to see Fisher products,
- [00:13:45.859]BWR products, Dot and Neta products
- [00:13:49.320]all at the same time.
- [00:13:52.110]We want these four suppliers to be our
- [00:13:55.670]first and main stop for lab supplies needs.
- [00:13:59.030]So major consumables, reagents, glassware,
- [00:14:03.824]typical pieces of equipment that aren't specific
- [00:14:07.173]to research we want these four suppliers to be
- [00:14:11.120]your first stop in comparing opportunities for purchasing.
- [00:14:15.680]And I will say Neta just came on board like yesterday, Mary.
- [00:14:20.080]Mm-hmm, yesterday.
- [00:14:21.360]Woo.
- [00:14:22.193](Mary clapping)
- [00:14:23.026]Yay, which is very exciting.
- [00:14:23.859]Congratulations.
- [00:14:24.692]Last minute add.
- [00:14:25.525]It's very exciting to have Neta on board.
- [00:14:28.297]We have a new feature called live price update
- [00:14:32.240]and it will be, essentially it will be called a different
- [00:14:35.570]name down the road once we get some eSHOP updates
- [00:14:39.092]in a couple months.
- [00:14:40.390]But as of right now Neta has the functionality of
- [00:14:44.360]live price update, which means you search for a product
- [00:14:47.646]Neta results come up you can see their pricing
- [00:14:51.860]right there in the results without having
- [00:14:53.710]to punchout and find that product
- [00:14:56.130]within the punchout.
- [00:14:57.720]And I believe they can also add that item
- [00:15:00.380]to their cart as well.
- [00:15:02.158]That is correct.
- [00:15:03.161]You can add to your cart right from your product search.
- [00:15:04.430]And the other three are going to be
- [00:15:06.690]having that very shortly.
- [00:15:07.910]Yes, yes very soon we have taken some
- [00:15:09.751]for the rest of them.
- [00:15:10.930]So, these four suppliers we will
- [00:15:13.230]be able to compare pricing within results
- [00:15:15.890]and add the product to your cart without
- [00:15:18.760]having to punch up and search.
- [00:15:20.920]And let's say you want to compare, you know,
- [00:15:23.330]gloves from all four, or two of them you no longer
- [00:15:27.890]will have to punchout, come back, punchout to another
- [00:15:31.350]supplier, come back, maybe make some hand written notes.
- [00:15:34.390]It's all gonna be available for end users
- [00:15:36.940]right then and there to really streamline
- [00:15:38.750]the purchasing process.
- [00:15:41.038]We're very excited.
- [00:15:42.200]Amen.
- [00:15:43.361]So getting into at little bit
- [00:15:46.770]of background of the suppliers.
- [00:15:48.867]Like I said before Dot Scientific
- [00:15:52.290]is a newcomer to the University of Nebraska.
- [00:15:55.906]They are, they were founded in 1984 by Dorothy Boone.
- [00:16:01.051]It is a minority-women owned business,
- [00:16:04.420]which is very exciting for them.
- [00:16:06.410]They've been solely just a woman owned business
- [00:16:09.779]as of I believe last year.
- [00:16:13.130]They were, had investment from Trade Winds,
- [00:16:16.010]another company which now,
- [00:16:17.470]and I know them to be both minority and women
- [00:16:19.340]owned business, which is very exciting
- [00:16:21.190]from a supplier diversity aspect.
- [00:16:23.091]We're excited.
- [00:16:24.490]Yes, very excited
- [00:16:25.770]to offer some different opportunities.
- [00:16:27.590]So Dot Scientific not as large as the other
- [00:16:33.150]players in the game, but they do offer a full line
- [00:16:35.290]of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- [00:16:37.350]That includes both popular name brand items.
- [00:16:41.087]And they also have private label items.
- [00:16:43.520]So they offer Corning, Satorius, IBI Scientific,
- [00:16:49.430]Celltreat, Kimberly-Clark among other things.
- [00:16:51.700]These are probably the five most common ones.
- [00:16:54.130]So Corning's gonna offer your plastics,
- [00:16:57.240]your glassware, a lot of cell culture products,
- [00:17:00.192]filtration and liquid handling products.
- [00:17:03.990]Sartorius has a lot of cell culture reagents
- [00:17:07.486]among consumable filtration as well.
- [00:17:10.720]I think they're probably most well known
- [00:17:13.331]for their weighing equipment, so their balances,
- [00:17:16.400]and also their centrifuges.
- [00:17:17.981]IBI has a lot of small lab equipment, so shakers,
- [00:17:23.206]vortexes, they are very commonly know for gel
- [00:17:28.140]electrophoresis and blotting systems,
- [00:17:30.440]as well as extraction kits.
- [00:17:32.124]Celltreat is gonna be not as big but similar to Corning.
- [00:17:36.940]They're gonna offer a lot of plastics, consumables,
- [00:17:39.847]sorry, flasks, tubes, dishes, anything that you're
- [00:17:44.800]gonna need for cell culture work.
- [00:17:46.690]And then Kimberly-Clark will offer your gloves,
- [00:17:49.618]PPE, respirators, Mmsks, items along those lines.
- [00:17:54.760]Dot offers also some of their own Dot branded consumables.
- [00:18:00.580]They have their typical plastics and pipette tips,
- [00:18:04.300]serological pipettes, commonly used items,
- [00:18:06.620]as well as their own line of chemicals,
- [00:18:08.940]so standard micro biology chemicals,
- [00:18:11.255]gel, gel reagents, anything needed for those.
- [00:18:15.300]They also have small bench top equipments,
- [00:18:18.120]so centrifuges, mini centrifuges.
- [00:18:20.420]I believe vortex as well.
- [00:18:22.460]So still maybe not as big as the other players
- [00:18:25.110]in the game, but offer most of the items
- [00:18:29.340]that will be needed for standard research among the labs.
- [00:18:39.172]Neta Scientific is also a newcomer
- [00:18:42.520]to the University of Nebraska.
- [00:18:43.960]We may have done a little bit more spend
- [00:18:46.100]with them over the past few years,
- [00:18:47.590]but still not as much as the other two big players.
- [00:18:51.340]So Neta Scientific is also a
- [00:18:54.776]minority owned business
- [00:18:56.900]as well as a women's business as well.
- [00:18:59.740]And they have the,
- [00:19:01.003]what I think is the top level certification.
- [00:19:03.670]So it's rigorous national certification.
- [00:19:07.110]I believe these businesses that are certified at this
- [00:19:10.150]level have to have at least 51% ownership for
- [00:19:13.970]each of those categories as well as site visits,
- [00:19:17.420]so very top shelf certification for Neta
- [00:19:20.920]in those two areas.
- [00:19:22.020]Which is also exciting for us to add another
- [00:19:24.940]supplier diversity partnership for the
- [00:19:27.240]University of Nebraska.
- [00:19:30.090]As well as Dot they offer a large portfolio.
- [00:19:34.843]They don't have any name brand, I'm sorry,
- [00:19:39.430]private label items.
- [00:19:40.700]They are distribution only.
- [00:19:44.580]But they do offer a large portfolio of different
- [00:19:46.740]items for life sciences, chromatography, chemicals,
- [00:19:49.690]other standard items.
- [00:19:52.090]I've listed their key partnerships at the bottom.
- [00:19:55.060]And I know they like to promote their
- [00:19:56.713]partnership with Agilent.
- [00:19:59.358]They, I believe have I,
- [00:20:03.460]I want to say exclusive distribution arrangement with them.
- [00:20:07.230]So Agilent offers a lot of chromatography
- [00:20:10.300]and spectroscopy supplies.
- [00:20:13.971]I know it's a tongue twister, and combs.
- [00:20:19.551]Celltreat is also offered by Dot as well.
- [00:20:22.662]But their major partnerships are gonna be
- [00:20:26.020]down at the bottom.
- [00:20:27.266]Corning is gonna pop up a lot.
- [00:20:28.440]So, as well as GE, and of course Sigma.
- [00:20:32.190]But while some of these are exclusive partnerships
- [00:20:35.756]more often than not you're gonna see these
- [00:20:38.230]brands across all four suppliers,
- [00:20:39.921]which is a great thing once we have that
- [00:20:44.010]live price update capability enabled for all
- [00:20:47.540]of them so we're able to compare and contrast
- [00:20:49.650]right within our eSHOP platform.
- [00:20:56.660]All right.
- [00:20:59.300]Where's my player, there we are.
- [00:21:02.300]Fisher Scientific, I won't deep dive
- [00:21:05.490]too much into their background as
- [00:21:07.677]they're pretty heavily used on all campuses
- [00:21:10.321]within our system.
- [00:21:11.780]But I did want to talk about some update to their
- [00:21:15.520]punchout capabilities.
- [00:21:16.550]They have a very vast portfolio.
- [00:21:18.770]They're gonna give you your consumables,
- [00:21:21.053]glassware, you know.
- [00:21:23.960]Distribution arrangement with BD,
- [00:21:26.420]and I have some helping orders that we'll talk about on the
- [00:21:29.800]next slide or two slides.
- [00:21:31.677]But basically wanted to highlight the updates
- [00:21:35.000]to the punchout capabilities.
- [00:21:36.320]So, we have had some conversations with
- [00:21:40.000]Fisher about how can we really make the best
- [00:21:46.290]opportunity, the best experience for end users
- [00:21:48.960]within the punchout.
- [00:21:50.240]Comparatively some of their competition has done
- [00:21:55.250]a little bit better job of making it more end
- [00:21:58.150]user friendly really workable for them.
- [00:22:00.410]So based on feedback they received from us
- [00:22:04.950]they were able to make a few updates to the punchout.
- [00:22:07.560]So we're gonna get a better product title,
- [00:22:10.490]better description in the product title
- [00:22:12.420]because nobody wants to look for a specific
- [00:22:14.970]type of glove and have that product just say,
- [00:22:17.762]"Gloves, size medium."
- [00:22:19.810]You really want to know that it's gonna be
- [00:22:21.800]a microflex glove and a blue
- [00:22:25.600]in a size, you know, medium,
- [00:22:29.260]and it's gonna be one pack and not a case.
- [00:22:30.660]So it's gonna give you,
- [00:22:32.470]the punchout capability now is gonna give you
- [00:22:34.785]a more descriptive product title.
- [00:22:36.088]In addition too it's gonna give you
- [00:22:38.380]manufacturing name and part number
- [00:22:40.580]for non Fisher brand items.
- [00:22:42.160]So those are gonna be distributed
- [00:22:45.850]items from other manufacturers
- [00:22:47.480]and possibly third party items.
- [00:22:48.950]So you're gonna get a little bit more information
- [00:22:51.277]when you're searching for non Fisherbrand items.
- [00:22:54.310]And that way you can even take that manufacturer
- [00:22:56.717]name and part number back into eSHOP
- [00:22:59.350]and search for that product with other
- [00:23:02.150]suppliers if you so choose.
- [00:23:03.810]I'd like to add something to that
- [00:23:05.450]if you don't mind Sydney.
- [00:23:06.768]For those of you very familiar with this
- [00:23:09.626]category, I'm guessing that quite a few of you are,
- [00:23:12.570]you know, already sourcing in the lab and research supplies.
- [00:23:16.813]And even if you don't Fisher is a household name
- [00:23:21.037]in this industry.
- [00:23:22.466]And we have used them for several years
- [00:23:28.700]to a large degree pointing to them as a single source.
- [00:23:32.370]I want everybody to know that we still feel
- [00:23:35.240]very strongly and very positively about our
- [00:23:37.730]relationship with Fisher.
- [00:23:39.426]The important opportunity for us and the other
- [00:23:43.190]suppliers that Sydney's talking about
- [00:23:45.421]are broadening the utilization of our contracts
- [00:23:49.858]so that we have more options available to our university
- [00:23:54.700]and our researchers and anybody that needs
- [00:23:56.650]to buy these products.
- [00:23:58.070]And it certainly doesn't mean that Fisher
- [00:23:59.760]can't offer them,
- [00:24:00.700]but I think people want choices.
- [00:24:02.740]And the response as you see on this slide
- [00:24:05.560]that Sydney mentioned to broaden the contract
- [00:24:09.740]so that we're utilizing, you know, more competitive
- [00:24:12.840]and comparative suppliers, Fisher updated
- [00:24:15.840]their punchout in response to feedback.
- [00:24:18.540]We're updating our contract in response
- [00:24:21.470]to feedback as well, particularly from the buying
- [00:24:24.376]communities on all of the campuses
- [00:24:26.934]wanting to have more of a marketplace.
- [00:24:30.920]I think that I have great thing to say about Fisher
- [00:24:34.580]and I think they'll continue to be a lead supplier
- [00:24:37.148]to the university.
- [00:24:38.420]What we're doing is we're trying to command
- [00:24:40.629]more spend under contract than we have historically.
- [00:24:45.363]So it's a, we hope that this is gonna be
- [00:24:49.040]a positive shopping experience.
- [00:24:50.900]I hope so too.
- [00:24:52.465]And it's been really encouraging,
- [00:24:53.850]and not just with Fisher,
- [00:24:55.530]but all the suppliers thus far any small, large tweaks
- [00:25:01.100]that we feel that we want to make our end user
- [00:25:04.650]experience the best possible.
- [00:25:06.762]Very open and very amenable to that.
- [00:25:09.470]So it's exciting for me to be able to provide
- [00:25:12.400]these updates on the punchout capabilities
- [00:25:14.765]just to make sure that we're giving our end
- [00:25:17.690]users the best shopping experience possible.
- [00:25:22.424]Let me see where I left off, yeah.
- [00:25:24.984]Kudos to them for this.
- [00:25:26.200]Yes, they have been great.
- [00:25:30.040]Okay.
- [00:25:31.386]You're on that point, yes.
- [00:25:32.250]The leader of the item of that page refresh
- [00:25:36.280]and I know I, anywhere you shop online there's
- [00:25:40.230]nothing worse than trying to update a cart
- [00:25:42.354]and changing the quantity, or maybe you want to take
- [00:25:46.660]an item out of your cart
- [00:25:48.020]and all of a sudden the page goes to the next,
- [00:25:50.119]it refreshes and you're like,
- [00:25:52.357]"I don't know where my cart went."
- [00:25:53.480]So, being able to have that functionality within the cart
- [00:25:57.000]and not having to lose your page is very awesome.
- [00:26:01.260]In addition to any equipment or instrumentation
- [00:26:06.525]purchases within the punchout, the punchout now
- [00:26:09.550]gives you options now to add extended warranty
- [00:26:13.470]or additional warranty or services
- [00:26:15.294]or required accessories.
- [00:26:17.684]There will be a link close to the product number
- [00:26:22.940]that you'll be able to add those extras at that
- [00:26:26.580]same time that you're adding the system or instrumentation.
- [00:26:29.840]So that's exciting rather than having to add it
- [00:26:32.063]as a non-catalog, or get it quoted.
- [00:26:36.320]To have that ability to do it right within the punchout
- [00:26:39.101]is exciting, it streamlines that process.
- [00:26:42.560]And the last but not least,
- [00:26:45.050]this is probably my favorite update.
- [00:26:47.610]So they've recently broke ground or ribbon,
- [00:26:51.560]I should say ribbon cutted, cutted, ribbon cut
- [00:26:55.400]the opening of the new photo lab that they have
- [00:26:58.281]going on at Fisher Scientific, so one of my biggest
- [00:27:02.670]gripes when I was in labs or cheaper products is
- [00:27:05.790]you really want to see what that flask or serological
- [00:27:08.970]ply pads, or cello scraper looked like and it looks
- [00:27:12.126]like it was a picture out of 1980s, 1990s.
- [00:27:16.133]And so we hit home during all our meetings
- [00:27:20.680]with Fisher saying you've got to get updated product images.
- [00:27:23.130]People want to see what they're buying,
- [00:27:25.870]because maybe your 25 mil serological supply pad's
- [00:27:29.800]gonna have your red notations
- [00:27:31.930]and your 15 mil serological pipettes are gonna be orange
- [00:27:35.101]and you want to make sure you buying the right thing.
- [00:27:38.180]So Fisher has developed this photo lab
- [00:27:41.480]to constantly update product images so you can see
- [00:27:46.750]what you're buying.
- [00:27:48.310]Data and better picture.
- [00:27:49.520]Yes, more information, better pictures.
- [00:27:51.760]It's very exciting for me to actually
- [00:27:54.734]have had that information from Fisher.
- [00:27:57.900]That's really good.
- [00:28:00.836]So just to go over a couple of their key brands
- [00:28:03.600]that Fisher is pretty well known for
- [00:28:07.174]Alfa Aesar and Acros Organics are gonna have
- [00:28:11.070]a lot of chemical options for you.
- [00:28:13.705]R&D Systems they have a lot of antibody opportunities.
- [00:28:19.640]We've discussed Corning who have
- [00:28:22.086]glassware, plastics, cell culture option provided.
- [00:28:25.750]Your Thermo Scientific and Invitrogen
- [00:28:28.260]are essentially gonna encompass
- [00:28:29.580]your live technologies products.
- [00:28:32.680]And I know it's the name grade,
- [00:28:34.200]but when you think of an etrogen and Thermo Scientific
- [00:28:37.400]keep in mind that that's probably, or most likely
- [00:28:40.650]those products fall under the live technologies umbrella.
- [00:28:44.010]GE Healthcare Life Sciences is gonna give you
- [00:28:46.646]filtration, protein work, chromatography items.
- [00:28:51.702]Isotemp provides a lot of refrigeration and freezer units,
- [00:28:56.182]equipment for labs.
- [00:28:58.764]BD you're gonna have your vacutainer,
- [00:29:01.560]some other plastics more along the medical
- [00:29:03.730]side of things.
- [00:29:04.563]So a really vast portfolio to work out
- [00:29:07.300]a lot of different brands and opportunities
- [00:29:10.580]for purchasing in there within that punchout.
- [00:29:14.580]And I do want to make note something that's
- [00:29:16.960]actually quite popular for all of the campuses as well
- [00:29:20.200]is they have their own Fisherbrand Collection
- [00:29:23.720]of lab consumables, lab essentials,
- [00:29:27.060]equipments and instrumentation.
- [00:29:28.700]So typically these items are at a lower cost
- [00:29:33.424]than your name brand.
- [00:29:34.962]So you can search Fisherbrand Collection
- [00:29:38.830]for any of the items listed below
- [00:29:41.290]and hopefully get a better price.
- [00:29:43.330]So I just wanted to make note that it is private label
- [00:29:45.590]collection that Fisher does offer
- [00:29:47.230]in addition to all those big fancy name brands.
- [00:29:56.250]And lastly, we have VWR International.
- [00:29:59.820]They are also pretty well used across all four campuses,
- [00:30:03.470]so I didn't want to deep dive specifically into
- [00:30:06.400]the background of their company.
- [00:30:07.670]But very similar to Fisher they offer a vast portfolio
- [00:30:10.844]on your lab essentials,
- [00:30:12.930]lab consumables, equipment and instrumentation as well.
- [00:30:16.170]They also have done a great job of updating
- [00:30:19.260]their punchout capabilities.
- [00:30:20.724]I am a big fan of their punchout.
- [00:30:23.373]It's very user friendly.
- [00:30:25.420]You have a lot of information that end users can
- [00:30:29.751]utilize, order status updates specifically to their orders,
- [00:30:31.458]tracking status of shipments.
- [00:30:33.780]So these added updated capabilities I think
- [00:30:38.620]are a great value to our end users.
- [00:30:40.910]So, if you are needing to return an item
- [00:30:45.910]or an order you can do that specifically
- [00:30:47.760]in the punchout.
- [00:30:48.593]There's a link that you can do so.
- [00:30:51.850]In addition to any line items that have
- [00:30:54.710]not shipped on an order you can cancel
- [00:30:57.030]before it ships as long as it's not out of the warehouse,
- [00:30:59.364]which is awesome.
- [00:31:01.210]So if you want to order it, let's say an item's back ordered
- [00:31:05.423]and you can get it faster from another,
- [00:31:07.595]from any of the other three suppliers that
- [00:31:08.830]are on this contract, you can cancel that line
- [00:31:11.300]and get it elsewhere.
- [00:31:12.910]Which is you don't have to call a customer service.
- [00:31:14.970]You can do it with the punchout.
- [00:31:16.960]And then for items that are direct factory ship
- [00:31:19.840]or drop shipped from manufacturer
- [00:31:22.390]you are able to yield packing slip
- [00:31:26.570]directly from the manufacturer so you can see
- [00:31:29.070]what's all in the package of the shipment.
- [00:31:31.377]And then as well for your orders you are
- [00:31:35.290]placing through the punchout, you know,
- [00:31:37.830]if you're in a rush for an item and you want to
- [00:31:40.340]see where it's at you can check that order status
- [00:31:42.560]daily within the punchout.
- [00:31:44.340]Which is very exciting, especially if you need
- [00:31:46.160]something for an experience, you needed it yesterday,
- [00:31:49.540]you can track and see where it's at.
- [00:31:53.870]So similar to Fisher we offer a lot of large,
- [00:31:58.047]or a large portfolio of name brand items as well.
- [00:32:02.441]So a couple of the ones I wanted to highlight,
- [00:32:05.385]Beckman Coulter which is pretty heavily
- [00:32:08.543]used within the University of Nebraska system
- [00:32:10.240]they're gonna offer centrifuges for cytomotry,
- [00:32:14.780]cell counting systems, and liquid handling units.
- [00:32:19.080]Shimadzu you're gonna have kind of chromatography
- [00:32:21.900]and spectroscopy options there.
- [00:32:25.160]Biolegend, which is pretty well used in all campuses
- [00:32:28.760]as well, immunologies, cell bio applications,
- [00:32:32.439]antibodies along those lines.
- [00:32:35.990]And then Lucigen also has a lot
- [00:32:38.070]of different protein expression, and protein work
- [00:32:40.900]in next gen sequencing option, so.
- [00:32:44.780]I don't have a slide for this but BWR also
- [00:32:47.028]carries a large portfolio
- [00:32:48.680]of their private label items similar to Fisher's
- [00:32:51.783]Fisherbrand items.
- [00:32:53.760]I know they're also pretty popular on all the
- [00:32:57.040]campuses as well.
- [00:32:57.873]So they, the VWR private label items are consumables
- [00:33:01.920]lab essentials as well as equipment
- [00:33:04.750]so they have their own freezers, CO2 incubators,
- [00:33:08.850]shakers, all of that type of standard
- [00:33:12.220]laboratory equipment as well.
- [00:33:13.470]Okay, do you have a second for a quick question?
- [00:33:16.250]Absolutely.
- [00:33:17.457]Thank you from the audience.
- [00:33:19.690]So we have a question from Marissa.
- [00:33:21.953]Will we still have to submit a change order
- [00:33:24.810]for the item that's canceled?
- [00:33:26.590]I think this goes back to the previous slide
- [00:33:28.311]when we were talking about.
- [00:33:31.532]Oh yeah, so Marissa are you talking about
- [00:33:35.380]if we line item cancel an order?
- [00:33:39.020]I think she's saying if you submit a change
- [00:33:41.250]order for the item that is canceled.
- [00:33:44.049]Oh, for the item yeah,
- [00:33:45.630]yeah so you will have already issues the PO
- [00:33:49.450]so it will have to issue the change order through
- [00:33:52.890]the system to cancel it on the PO on our side.
- [00:33:56.120]But instead of calling a customer service
- [00:33:59.080]and emailing customer service on the VWR side
- [00:34:01.439]you'll be able to just take care of that cancellation
- [00:34:04.750]on the line within the punchout.
- [00:34:07.000]So we'll still have to have the change order on our side
- [00:34:09.340]to make sure it matches.
- [00:34:12.090]Hopefully that answers your question Marissa.
- [00:34:14.000]Yeah, perfect.
- [00:34:14.833]Great, thank you for asking the question.
- [00:34:19.810]So, not much to talk about on this slide.
- [00:34:22.423]I just wanted to put some contact information
- [00:34:24.630]up for all of our suppliers, websites for all four.
- [00:34:30.685]I encourage you or your researchers within your
- [00:34:34.710]department to click on the homepages especially for Dot
- [00:34:38.720]and Neta, just browse around see what offerings
- [00:34:41.913]what they have, very good options for maybe alternatives
- [00:34:48.243]and you're trying to make every penny count
- [00:34:50.803]for grants or research and Dot and Neta may be
- [00:34:55.240]able to provide different opportunities for you from
- [00:34:57.560]grants maybe you haven't heard of before.
- [00:35:00.480]And they name and contact information of our
- [00:35:03.602]University of Nebraska link and reps as well under there.
- [00:35:08.550]I believe once we post this recording you can
- [00:35:11.530]always go back and look at contact information
- [00:35:14.370]or reach out to me if you can't write it down
- [00:35:18.050]in time or have questions down the road.
- [00:35:20.180]So with these UNL contact specific.
- [00:35:22.430]Yes, UNL contact specific.
- [00:35:25.390]That is correct.
- [00:35:26.490]Is Shanna still, is she continuing on
- [00:35:28.970]or is she moved on the Fisher account.
- [00:35:30.720]Yes, Shanna is continuing on.
- [00:35:32.320]So just so everyone knows again the focus
- [00:35:35.210]of our relationship with our preexisting suppliers
- [00:35:38.410]is to continue as usual.
- [00:35:39.658]And introducing some new folks into the mix
- [00:35:44.394]we want everyone to know that this by no means
- [00:35:48.525]is a suggestion that we think,
- [00:35:51.031]we think we have opportunity to control,
- [00:35:53.674]I hate the word control, so let me say manage and offer
- [00:35:57.470]opportunity for more items that you may not
- [00:36:00.960]have an ease of finding and broader competition
- [00:36:05.270]within a marketplace is never a bad thing.
- [00:36:08.760]Very much true.
- [00:36:09.593]Sydney we all have a question.
- [00:36:11.651]Is free shipping gonna be included with Dot and Nema
- [00:36:15.070]as well since that is with Fisher and VWR?
- [00:36:17.710]I am so glad that question was asked
- [00:36:20.210]because some of the highlights that are
- [00:36:24.090]specifically gonna affect our end users and funds
- [00:36:27.340]in departments.
- [00:36:28.360]So what's very exciting for me is we are going
- [00:36:33.280]to have for all four suppliers free standard shipping
- [00:36:36.500]on most items.
- [00:36:37.970]What would be excluded?
- [00:36:39.660]Things that would be excluded would be
- [00:36:43.312]rush shipping or overnight shipping like glove delivery,
- [00:36:46.362]large instrumentation or equipment.
- [00:36:50.300]Those are typically quotas,
- [00:36:51.740]so you'll have an estimated--
- [00:36:53.720]So generally speaking,
- [00:36:55.050]and this includes third party too doesn't it?
- [00:36:57.490]It does.
- [00:36:58.672]I do.
- [00:36:59.671]Yes it does.
- [00:37:01.381]I do on the exceptions part I do want to say
- [00:37:04.624]Neta does have a couple of suppliers that they
- [00:37:09.610]work with their distribution that do
- [00:37:11.130]have some shipping charges.
- [00:37:12.250]So if you have questions please reach out to me
- [00:37:14.940]specifically and I, it would be good to follow up
- [00:37:18.530]and find out if that will be clarified on
- [00:37:21.490]their site as to which items are.
- [00:37:24.950]I mean we're probably gonna have a lot of questions
- [00:37:26.810]as we continue to implement.
- [00:37:28.700]So thank you for the call out on that.
- [00:37:30.290]Yes good.
- [00:37:31.123]And I think maybe that's something that
- [00:37:33.403]Mary and I can work with them if they help.
- [00:37:35.040]That would be great if they could provide
- [00:37:36.460]estimated shipping for those specific manufacturers
- [00:37:39.145]so our end users know.
- [00:37:41.160]But typically for most items it's gonna be
- [00:37:44.710]free standard shipping.
- [00:37:45.940]And yes, that does include third party items.
- [00:37:49.370]So, previously with our relationship and contract
- [00:37:53.440]through Fisher we paid no shipping on franchise items
- [00:37:58.420]and we did pay variable amounts to no amounts
- [00:38:02.800]on third party items.
- [00:38:04.100]So on this contract free standard shipping includes
- [00:38:09.010]for Fisher franchise and third party
- [00:38:10.820]as for all suppliers.
- [00:38:12.920]I'm just gonna play devil's advocate,
- [00:38:16.091]or the dummy in the corner here.
- [00:38:16.924]Just can you clarify what franchise items means.
- [00:38:20.120]So franchise items are items that
- [00:38:25.550]are contracted, that are strategic suppliers
- [00:38:28.810]have been placed with certain manufacturers.
- [00:38:31.150]So a lot of the brands that I put up,
- [00:38:33.378]VB, Corning they have specific arrangements
- [00:38:36.151]in place with them.
- [00:38:38.290]Third party items are typically offered as a,
- [00:38:41.380]a convenience options.
- [00:38:44.830]So also of, I think it's encompassed or
- [00:38:49.630]I think that's the designation of Fisher.
- [00:38:52.836]There's a designation to third party items within
- [00:38:55.510]Fisher right now but all of those third party
- [00:38:57.700]items will be rolled up under free shipping.
- [00:39:01.607]So, which is very exciting.
- [00:39:03.030]No more surprise shipping charges,
- [00:39:05.700]which I know was a big sticking point for
- [00:39:09.500]a lot of end users.
- [00:39:10.410]So very excited to have that option.
- [00:39:13.513]Just remember there are a few exceptions,
- [00:39:16.991]rush shipping white gloves and then we'll work with Neta
- [00:39:19.360]to hopefully call out those manufactures
- [00:39:21.450]that do have a little bit of exception to that rule.
- [00:39:25.660]And as Maggie and I talked about
- [00:39:28.041]more suppliers with a multi award is gonna offer
- [00:39:31.640]competitive pricing.
- [00:39:32.540]It's gonna offer healthy competition.
- [00:39:34.350]So hopefully we can get the best price for our products
- [00:39:37.530]that our suppliers are offering.
- [00:39:42.040]And then mostly for the University of Nebraska
- [00:39:44.467]I want to offer an expanded marketplace for shopping.
- [00:39:47.070]So giving you guys more opportunity
- [00:39:50.840]to shop for research products and equipment.
- [00:39:53.729]And that being said we would like to update
- [00:39:57.500]you guys on some eSHOP updates that are coming
- [00:40:01.550]down the road soon.
- [00:40:02.383]So I will turn it over to Mary.
- [00:40:08.980]And as we transition to this I think
- [00:40:10.940]Mary is just getting used to her slide
- [00:40:12.523]change over here.
- [00:40:14.210]You have to move the mouse.
- [00:40:18.510]Again this is Maggie again.
- [00:40:20.030]I do want to add to,
- [00:40:23.290]a lot to this feedback was gathered
- [00:40:25.520]this last year.
- [00:40:26.480]We had formed some strategic sourcing
- [00:40:29.980]teams of buyers across the university
- [00:40:34.824]on all the campuses that are being facilitated
- [00:40:37.740]by Sydney's facilitating the scientific
- [00:40:41.130]lab and research.
- [00:40:42.170]We have two others.
- [00:40:43.620]One for facilities like buildings property,
- [00:40:47.430]internal, you know, facilities, property,
- [00:40:50.150]construction what have you
- [00:40:51.640]that Dustin is facilitating with others.
- [00:40:54.330]And then we have a technology team.
- [00:40:56.466]The purpose of these teams is tackle
- [00:40:59.216]feedback and collaboration on what do we want
- [00:41:04.090]to do, and also point us in the direction
- [00:41:06.580]that the university users would like to go.
- [00:41:09.540]So this collaborative agreement in lab
- [00:41:12.640]and research supplies was not just come up with.
- [00:41:16.115]It was feedback from all our campuses and especially
- [00:41:20.920]the largest users rivaling between
- [00:41:23.170]Lincoln and the Med Center,
- [00:41:24.870]but not to be outdone the other campuses,
- [00:41:27.490]all the campuses use lab and research supplies.
- [00:41:30.550]We just want to make sure we do a better job
- [00:41:32.970]offering more products and more options
- [00:41:35.255]across a very large spend category that we know.
- [00:41:39.842]We're excited about it but feedback's gonna be
- [00:41:43.020]essential as we go through this,
- [00:41:44.330]so we'll be talking about it again.
- [00:41:46.600]And thank you Sydney for that.
- [00:41:47.870]And Mary I'll give you the floor.
- [00:41:50.090]All right thank you.
- [00:41:52.060]Well, exciting news.
- [00:41:53.641]One of the biggest complaints that we get
- [00:41:56.260]in our surveys each year is these search,
- [00:41:59.041]product search results and the product searching.
- [00:42:03.140]A lot of that was not in our programming
- [00:42:07.320]to be able to utilize or upgrade at all.
- [00:42:09.700]So our supplier for the Jira platform has
- [00:42:13.010]upgraded their site and they will be pushing
- [00:42:16.430]out this new user interface and we have a
- [00:42:19.140]go live date late in March.
- [00:42:21.180]So this is not the first you'll be hearing
- [00:42:23.480]about this new eSHOP user interface.
- [00:42:27.351]But you will be getting several communications about it
- [00:42:30.790]over the next several weeks.
- [00:42:31.959]So this is an example of the newly cleaned up
- [00:42:38.520]product search page.
- [00:42:39.594]You'll notice that at the top of the page
- [00:42:42.370]it's just a clear streamline like that looks
- [00:42:46.330]very much more up to date and can,
- [00:42:47.917]in alignment with other websites.
- [00:42:51.885]And you'll notice on he left hand navigation
- [00:42:55.167]it just looks a little cleaner.
- [00:42:56.000]They're changing the icons.
- [00:42:57.400]They've moved a few things around.
- [00:42:58.797]The top right corner where you're used to seeing your name
- [00:43:02.999]and searching that is going to look a little differently.
- [00:43:07.307]But as far as the product search results go you'll
- [00:43:12.100]have the ability to kind of manipulate how you want
- [00:43:15.810]the searches to show up.
- [00:43:17.740]This is pretty standard but it's just a couple
- [00:43:20.780]clicks of a button if you want to see more or less.
- [00:43:24.490]I don't want to, I don't care about the item number.
- [00:43:26.450]I don't care about the manufacturer name, for example,.
- [00:43:29.930]But the most exciting thing is this one shop
- [00:43:32.570]capability that we are instilling now.
- [00:43:35.980]This is dependent on the supplier's capability to do it.
- [00:43:39.459]So again, it is not within our capability to have them
- [00:43:44.771]do it or not do it.
- [00:43:46.860]But it's definitely as more and more suppliers become
- [00:43:49.430]capable of doing this you can see that you would
- [00:43:52.900]typically gravitate to switching here and not
- [00:43:55.250]going to the punchout.
- [00:43:56.320]But for today you'll still need to use the punchouts
- [00:43:59.720]until we get the search engine optimized a little bit
- [00:44:03.810]so that when you search a word you're gonna
- [00:44:06.800]get the results that you're expecting to see.
- [00:44:09.510]But the one shot capability I have that
- [00:44:12.611]last one on the first row there.
- [00:44:15.769]That's a punchout supplier.
- [00:44:18.290]So where you can see under the Dot suppliers
- [00:44:20.680]it says click here to order.
- [00:44:22.110]And in a traditional sense the way it is today
- [00:44:24.540]you'll go out to the punchout and find that product.
- [00:44:27.960]But in the new world it would be,
- [00:44:31.120]you'd be able to add it to your cart right
- [00:44:32.870]from the search results.
- [00:44:34.340]So you won't need to go punchout to the supplier at all.
- [00:44:38.660]So I'm still building some other optimization
- [00:44:43.203]behind the scenes to make sure that those
- [00:44:45.350]product's search results are cleaned up.
- [00:44:48.270]It does take a little bit of effort
- [00:44:50.100]on our side too.
- [00:44:51.410]But the supplier first has to be able to push
- [00:44:53.490]the products through.
- [00:44:54.700]I have a question Mary.
- [00:44:56.302]With the one stop pricing I know that you can
- [00:45:00.010]add to the cart directly from there.
- [00:45:02.314]With the one shop pricing will you still
- [00:45:04.350]be able to punchout though if you so choose.
- [00:45:07.300]Yeah, I think, oh this isn't live.
- [00:45:09.870]When I was playing with it see the little earth
- [00:45:13.280]symbol or whatever next to the U.S. dollar.
- [00:45:16.470]Mm-hmm.
- [00:45:17.699]I believe, don't take my word for this
- [00:45:19.150]'cause I've only see this a few times myself.
- [00:45:21.986]I think that goes out to the product
- [00:45:24.000]on the punchout side.
- [00:45:25.010]Awesome.
- [00:45:26.330]If not there was something
- [00:45:28.340]that product search results that
- [00:45:30.460]allows you to go into the punchout.
- [00:45:32.380]So you can still go and punchout
- [00:45:34.080]just to verify that that's what you want and you
- [00:45:36.437]can come back.
- [00:45:37.270]Right, right, now again I'm going to say that use
- [00:45:43.300]the punchouts until, we're gonna have a lot of
- [00:45:45.710]communications coming out.
- [00:45:46.940]So these search results, this picture, this look
- [00:45:50.500]isn't even available on your site yet.
- [00:45:52.231]But until we get those search results
- [00:45:57.020]optimized you might still not see
- [00:45:59.632]what you're expecting to see.
- [00:46:01.360]And I agree that the search results
- [00:46:03.730]have always been problematic.
- [00:46:06.830]So the next part of that change is the shopping cart.
- [00:46:13.241]So once you've added something to your cart
- [00:46:15.670]you're all used to seeing the tiles,
- [00:46:18.360]the blue tiles, and all that stuff.
- [00:46:20.238]But the whole look of the site is going to
- [00:46:23.320]be this very streamlined white on black
- [00:46:28.830]side to side, or stacked up and down the page
- [00:46:31.570]instead of across the page.
- [00:46:33.083]So things that you're used to seeing
- [00:46:35.660]will be just in a little bit different place.
- [00:46:37.986]And finally once you proceed to checkout
- [00:46:44.325]your page will be stacked vertically instead
- [00:46:49.900]of on tabs horizontally.
- [00:46:51.835]And it's very quick to see like,
- [00:46:55.327]and what you're missing when you open
- [00:46:57.300]this up and click on it it will actually navigate
- [00:46:59.980]to the items you're missing.
- [00:47:02.280]So in this example I practiced with it enough
- [00:47:05.470]that I know if it click on it it's gonna say
- [00:47:07.080]I'm missing my unloading point.
- [00:47:08.520]But it's not just gonna do that.
- [00:47:09.750]It's gonna open it up to the unloading point edit field,
- [00:47:12.123]not right to the field, but at least to that section.
- [00:47:15.195]And then clicking on this,
- [00:47:19.980]don't know if I kept a copy of that too,
- [00:47:22.050]but clicking on this next point order it shows you
- [00:47:24.650]where it's going next, who the approvers are,
- [00:47:27.401]and what's gonna happen exactly with your order.
- [00:47:32.090]I think that's it.
- [00:47:34.564]Is that my only slide?
- [00:47:36.049]Yep that's it.
- [00:47:36.882]Okay, so that's a really quick preview and you're
- [00:47:39.350]the first people to see it.
- [00:47:41.210]So we're gonna start releasing notifications
- [00:47:44.465]second week of February
- [00:47:45.950]and we're targeting spring break for
- [00:47:48.210]go live date.
- [00:47:49.060]That's the week of March 23rd I believe.
- [00:47:51.020]March 23rd, perfect.
- [00:47:52.820]And I believe in a couple months
- [00:47:54.760]we will be going into
- [00:47:56.970]a little bit more depth in the updates.
- [00:47:59.240]I can't remember which talk that is, but.
- [00:48:01.370]More information to follow.
- [00:48:03.120]I think in the March PED talk
- [00:48:04.840]we'll be going over that.
- [00:48:07.630]Well, thank you for the update,
- [00:48:09.280]the headstart on the rollout.
- [00:48:11.130]So just a couple notes, upcoming sessions,
- [00:48:14.910]so next month we'll be talking about
- [00:48:17.440]non competitive procurement.
- [00:48:19.440]And as always if you have a suggestion for a
- [00:48:22.310]topic please let us know.
- [00:48:23.975]One more note before I end as this is a new
- [00:48:28.060]contract for research and lab suppliers,
- [00:48:30.590]a main category, and certainly kind of a new
