- [00:00:39.230]Service Agency announced that sign up

- [00:00:42.830]will begin today. The signup period ends
- [00:00:44.900]on February 28th. For general CRP while
- [00:00:47.020]the sign up for continuous CRP is
- [00:00:48.660]ongoing
- [00:00:49.370]Farmers & Ranchers who enrollment in CRP

- [00:00:54.780]conserving plant species like approved
- [00:00:57.430]grasses or trees that help control
- [00:00:59.130]erosion. I've kind of taken on this role
- [00:01:01.080]of a digital creator alongside of my
- [00:01:02.812]supervisor. What we're trying to
- [00:01:05.510]do is figure out where Farm broadcasting
- [00:01:08.050]and where our network fits in on social
- [00:01:10.350]media on websites and on different
- [00:01:13.300]digital platforms
- [00:01:18.380]What we're doing is relaying information
- [00:01:20.790]that affects producers bottom line. Okay,
- [00:01:24.860]the CRP currently has 22 million acres
- [00:01:27.549]enrolled in the program. However the 2018
- [00:01:29.680]farm bill lifts the cap on acres up to
- [00:01:31.960]27 million. That means many farmers and
- [00:01:34.560]ranchers will have the chance to enroll
- [00:01:36.510]for the first time or continue their
- [00:01:38.304]participation
- [00:01:44.020]Journalism is constantly being
- [00:01:46.770]criticized by consumers everywhere and
- [00:01:49.170]so what we have to do is earn their
- [00:01:51.456]trust and that's done by creating
- [00:01:54.670]unbiased content.
- [00:02:14.349]The most rewarding part about being a
- [00:02:17.460]farm broadcaster is this idea that these
- [00:02:19.810]producers are working 365 days a year
- [00:02:22.450]right. They don't get a day off and they
- [00:02:25.960]trust us for their information.
- [00:02:36.319]But all these producers worked so hard
- [00:02:39.039]to produce the nation's food, feed, fiber
- [00:02:41.680]and fuel. They're trusting me.
- [00:02:55.680]Broadcasting from the Nebraska soybean
- [00:02:57.750]board news desks which is brought to you
- [00:02:59.750]in part by Nebraska's soybean farmers
- [00:03:01.589]and their checkoff I am Alex Vochoskie
- [00:03:03.570]reporting on the rural radio network.
