[99:59:59.999]It starts all the way back when I was
[99:59:59.999]little. So my dad is an artist. He's also
[99:59:59.999]a farmer but when farming season was
[99:59:59.999]over he had this rhythm everyday of like
[99:59:59.999]getting up and doing his chores, going
[99:59:59.999]down where he with art, having lunch
[99:59:59.999]going back down and doing art, go out at
[99:59:59.999]tours at 4:00, eat dinner afterward and
[99:59:59.999]then you'd go back and work on his
[99:59:59.999]painting again. So then when my dad was
[99:59:59.999]working on stuff I was always nearby
[99:59:59.999]working. That was kind of early on I
[99:59:59.999]knew that was something that I was
[99:59:59.999]gifted at. Art is one of those things
[99:59:59.999]that a lot of times happens not in
[99:59:59.999]school. A lot of it's just putting myself
[99:59:59.999]out there making stuff and if, if it
[99:59:59.999]doesn't work then like learning from
[99:59:59.999]that piece of artwork or learning from
[99:59:59.999]that experience.
[99:59:59.999]I'm creating things that people don't
[99:59:59.999]need. So a lot of times already seen as a
[99:59:59.999]luxury, we forget the beauty around us.
[99:59:59.999]To create something that people, that
[99:59:59.999]affects people emotionally or is
[99:59:59.999]thought-provoking to them or they're you
[99:59:59.999]know interested that creates some
[99:59:59.999]interest for them. That's kind of a
[99:59:59.999]challenge.
[99:59:59.999]Oh, if you want a flexible job, art is, is,
[99:59:59.999]is one of those. Which works well
[99:59:59.999]because I'm also a mom.
[99:59:59.999]A favorite project to date is the mural
[99:59:59.999]that I did in Henderson. And some of it
[99:59:59.999]was just because I got to be an artist.
[99:59:59.999]For a month that's what I got to do. I
[99:59:59.999]got to wear that hat instead of being
[99:59:59.999]mom full-time, wife full-time. I got to go
[99:59:59.999]away and just be an artist and there's
[99:59:59.999]something really fun in the focus of
[99:59:59.999]that.
[99:59:59.999]Doing the art thing, you're marketing
[99:59:59.999]yourself and that's not always easy. With
[99:59:59.999]artists you have to be okay with
[99:59:59.999]advertising yourself. So I'm learning.
[99:59:59.999]I think my favorite part is is that it's
[99:59:59.999]what I was made to do and so I'm
[99:59:59.999]actually getting to live you know like
[99:59:59.999]the whole idea of like work should be
[99:59:59.999]fun. Like if you're gonna have a career
[99:59:59.999]it should be something you enjoy. Well, I
[99:59:59.999]enjoy that. My step right now is to
[99:59:59.999]become the best artist that I can be
[99:59:59.999]because no one's going to want to come
[99:59:59.999]and learn from me if I'm not the best
[99:59:59.999]artist that I can be.
