[00:03:45.270]I look back on that part of my life,
[00:03:47.560]and what I wanted to be was I wanted to be
[00:03:49.120]an officer in the United States Navy.
[00:03:50.960]And I wanted to captain either a carrier or some war ship.
[00:03:56.570]I'm not entirely sure where that came from other than
[00:03:59.076]I had lots of relatives who had been in the navy,
[00:04:04.320]and over time that sort of disappeared.
[00:04:06.500]One of the things that certainly changed my focus
[00:04:09.750]was falling in love with agriculture
[00:04:12.397]and the problems that confront agricultural systems
[00:04:15.945]and producing and providing food
[00:04:18.610]for millions and millions of people across the planet.
[00:04:22.297]But every now and then when I stop
[00:04:25.020]and think about that nine-year-old kid
[00:04:27.220]and that interest of being out on the sea,
[00:04:30.000]I think what really was driving me was the desire
[00:04:34.270]to be a little bit of a pirate,
[00:04:35.660]and I found in my career, if I embrace that inner pirate,
[00:04:39.200]some pretty good things happen.
