"Global Edge" workshops launched for international student career success

This fall 2019, the Office of Global Strategies, in partnership with the International Student and Scholar Office and University Career Services, hosted its first “Global Edge” workshop: Career Strategies for International Student Success. The Global Edge aims to prepare UNL’s international students on how to discover potential Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) opportunities during their time at UNL. It aims to be a difference-maker in the lives of those international students who exhibit a desire to be employed in the US either through internships or full-time jobs after graduation. The International Student Resume Labs are an extension of University Career Services’ same program, but designed specifically for international students. Students can attend the open session for an in-depth group coaching session on resume reviews, cover letter editing, job search strategies and identifying CPT/OPT opportunities.
