Teachers from across the state of Nebraska spent time this summer learning how to incorporate computer science and STEM education in the classroom.

- [00:00:48.710]We're preparing these kids for all of these
- [00:00:50.760]jobs that may not even exist right now
- [00:00:54.500]and they need to be prepared for
- [00:00:57.300]a tech-driven world.
- [00:00:58.830]With the Silicon Prairie emerging
- [00:01:02.477]kind of in Nebraska, there's a lot of
- [00:01:04.460]stem jobs available. And then so expanding
- [00:01:07.104]our reach so that students,
- [00:01:09.329]not just in Lincoln, and Omaha are prepared
- [00:01:12.950]for those sorts of careers
- [00:01:14.040]but students throughout our state
- [00:01:15.330]is a really important component for us.
- [00:01:17.960]So it's important for these kids to have
- [00:01:19.580]this at the youngest age possible
- [00:01:21.850]so that they grow up just knowing this
- [00:01:23.910]as this is natural.
- [00:01:24.900]This is something that I've learned.

- [00:01:38.636]has been tremendous.
- [00:01:40.550]We really feed off one another.
- [00:01:42.430]What one person has understood,
- [00:01:44.380]they're really good about sharing that
- [00:01:45.730]with other people in the group.
- [00:01:47.570]So this impact is immediate
- [00:01:49.470]and has a potential to be long lasting.
