[00:00:05.220]was an amazing experience.
[00:00:06.780]Going with he College of Business, we had a team
[00:00:08.740]of about 20 students and we went for about 10 days.
[00:00:12.470]So it was short and sweet but still really exciting
[00:00:14.760]at the same time.
[00:00:15.850]I really thought it'd be a great way for me to incorporate
[00:00:18.380]my education into personal growth as well.
[00:00:21.920]If you want to go into international business you just
[00:00:24.140]have to like be able to adapt to those different cultures
[00:00:27.130]and like how they do business there.
[00:00:29.250]So, that was really cool to just get
[00:00:31.080]that kind of experience.
[00:00:32.533]It wasn't strictly business students.
[00:00:34.020]It was open to everyone.
[00:00:34.930]So that was nice because the team was very diverse.
[00:00:38.090]So the project we worked on was a business plan
[00:00:39.900]for a company, a teak wood company down in Panama.
[00:00:42.490]It was a real world stuff,
[00:00:44.440]it was a real business.
[00:00:45.660]We were contacting other real businesses
[00:00:47.600]across the entire country.
[00:00:49.280]And really having to communicate well
[00:00:51.330]with business professionals through email and phone calls.
[00:00:54.130]We spent the whole semester prior to the trip
[00:00:57.030]in class, we were just split up into two groups
[00:01:00.621]and given like a project that we were supposed
[00:01:02.210]to complete by the end of the semester.
[00:01:04.090]It was difficult at first, but it was definitely
[00:01:06.220]rewarding then to be able to go and implement
[00:01:09.040]what we did that semester
[00:01:11.230]into the actual business that we worked with in Panama.
[00:01:14.170]I'm really glad that we got to get so personal
[00:01:16.890]with the company we were working for,
[00:01:18.300]and with the students, because I think it really added
[00:01:20.870]an extra layer of experience and authenticity.
[00:01:24.245]It wasn't all just work.
[00:01:25.467]The nice thing about these study abroad trips
[00:01:27.520]is it was a lot of fun.
[00:01:29.230]I sometimes say it was like a vacation,
[00:01:31.883]because we had done the hard work beforehand.
[00:01:34.870]Most of us came in not knowing anyone beforehand,
[00:01:37.180]and we all became super close,
[00:01:39.060]so I feel very lucky to have been able to go on the trip.
