- [00:00:16.330]It is a musical theater week-long workshop
- [00:00:19.230]for high school-aged kids who are
- [00:00:20.990]crazy about musical theater.

- [00:00:26.915]What I love about the Triple Threat workshop
- [00:00:28.410]is that it incorporates all the tools in your kit
- [00:00:30.730]that you're gonna need to use when you get to New York,
- [00:00:32.290]when you get to L.A., or on a film set or a Broadway stage.
- [00:00:34.797]Your singing, your acting, your dancing,
- [00:00:37.560]all those ways of telling story
- [00:00:40.320]are really being workshopped here
- [00:00:41.900]and I love watching the joy on the young people's faces
- [00:00:44.200]while we're doing it.

- [00:00:46.750]because not a lot of kids are given this opportunity

- [00:00:55.220]This isn't a thing that all kids get to do,

- [00:01:02.930]I think it's really beneficial for young actors
- [00:01:05.240]to understand that it's about the process,
- [00:01:07.590]it's not about the product, so if you can understand
- [00:01:10.850]the fundamentals of how to break down a scene
- [00:01:13.460]then you will be far better off,
- [00:01:15.070]so that's really my focus of my class.

- [00:01:22.160]Broadway is something that I absolutely have my sights on.
- [00:01:26.160]The fact that I get to talk with people
- [00:01:28.160]who have just gone through that journey,
- [00:01:29.810]it's just a really helpful experience
- [00:01:31.110]to talk with people who know what's going on.
- [00:01:33.950]How we're gonna start is we're gonna step

- [00:01:38.210]These three days you get a crash course
- [00:01:40.400]on a real Broadway rehearsal process,
- [00:01:42.970]and it's been really fun watching them be uncomfortable,
- [00:01:47.330]but still going all in, and to see the growth

- [00:02:10.010]giving me opportunity after opportunity to learn and grow.

- [00:02:20.470]the young people to do is bring songs that they love
- [00:02:23.430]and perform them for the class.
- [00:02:25.860]I give people notes, technical notes,
- [00:02:28.500]different tricks and things, ways that you can
- [00:02:31.360]accomplish things that might be a challenge,
- [00:02:32.900]and just basically encourage them to continue to keep
- [00:02:35.490]studying their craft, just like people encouraged me.

- [00:02:44.890]and helping them learn what their process is
- [00:02:47.670]and what works for them, and that light bulb moment

- [00:02:55.420]attended a program like the one here at the Lied Center.
