University of Nebraska College of Law ranks sixth out of 201 law schools nationwide for graduates being employed in real law jobs--jobs where they use their law degree in their job.

[00:00:15.090]the national average and we were pretty excited about that.

[00:00:22.990]we interact with students by implementing
[00:00:25.334]a mandatory three L check in.
[00:00:27.710]We get to reach out to students right when they
[00:00:29.980]get back into their third year
[00:00:31.490]and make sure we have one on one time.
[00:00:33.340]So everybody comes in, whether they have a job
[00:00:35.280]or they don't have a job
[00:00:36.520]and we get to check in with them at where they're at
[00:00:38.300]and what they need from us.
[00:00:40.710]If someone comes in and they don't have a job
[00:00:42.650]but we really get to talk to them about
[00:00:44.420]where do you want to be, what do you want to do,
[00:00:46.190]we're able to help them be more marketable
[00:00:48.420]by the time they graduate.

[00:00:52.410]We continue to work with our graduates
[00:00:54.930]after they've crossed the stage
[00:00:57.050]and we stay in touch with them and we send them
[00:00:59.320]job leads and we're doing searches for them
[00:01:01.710]and we're connecting them with alumni.

[00:01:06.130]get that first job.
[00:01:07.580]We know that these great numbers are only a reflection
[00:01:11.070]of the opportunities that students have
[00:01:12.880]because they're at Nebraska Law.

[00:01:19.040]and the opportunity to gain practical experience
[00:01:21.620]through our five clinics and through externships
[00:01:25.220]is invaluable and allows students
[00:01:27.550]to really make themselves marketable.
[00:01:29.550]I think it's the whole experience of being
[00:01:31.190]at Nebraska Law that allows us the opportunity
[00:01:35.030]to market our students so effectively to employers.
